Christmas Day was really fun. We made different dishes ranging from Jollof rice(the main dish of the day) to fried turkey to salads to finger foods and soups alongside pounded yam.

I woke up to the sound of something crashing in the living room. I wanted to ignore it until I realized it could be a burglar.  I grabbed the one of the heels Aunty bought for me for church wear as I gently opened the door and tiptoed to the living room.  

We talked for a while, till the driver tapped on the privacy slide signifying that we were home. I decided to go to Nuel's house due to the fact that I wasn't expected home until an hour's time. According to him, his parents were hardly home. Rich people made inattentive parents, always on trips. 

I walked through the school gates and to my classroom. Dropping my bag by my seat, I sat down and put my head on the table. I had a bad headache and I felt really cold, hence, the sweater I wore to school. "Hey baby, what's wrong?" Nuel asked as he walked into my classroom. I was still the only student yet, I guess I came too early. It wasn't even seven am yet.

"It's my parents, I'll get rid of them. Just hang on and don't step out baby, I love you." He said as he pecked my lips and faced the door while he took deep breaths. Hearing the word 'parents' reminded me of mine for a brief second, I pushed it to the back of my mind.
