Today was the day everyone was waiting for. The day where I would choose my future husband. I was thrilled to be able to host this ball and meet all my prospects.     I stood there, wanting to leave this place. The man exuded power as he walked in. He was tall and slim. His skin was pale and his white hair was long, falling down his lower back, his red eyes reminded me of Cassius, and I wondered if he was as evil as him.  

I couldn’t believe my father had ordered me to take care of this human. I left her in the chambers, and headed to the kitchen to make sure dinner was ready. The dining area seemed more alive. Flowers decorated the table, and there was enough food for an army, something that hasn’t happened in a while.    

    I lost my appetite after Lorena told me the news, so I excused myself and apologized for all the delicious food that would go to waste, but I wanted to be alone. I found my chambers and locked myself in. As I looked around, I felt chills in my spine. It felt cold and void of life.  

    “She what!?!” I snarled at one of the guards when he told me Illyria had escaped. This woman was causing a lot of trouble already. I don’t know why dad insisted on keeping her here. She should have just stayed in the woods and let nature take care of her. But I had to save her.
