Additionally, the man had once been the son-in-law of the Fuller family. It was too much of an insult to Hugh!

Anger welled up in Wendy’s body.

Hugh sneered and said, "I can make your little company go bankrupt with just one phone call! Your daughter has yet to be registered, right? With just one word from me, I can make your daughter in the kindergarten expelled right away. Do you want to try me?

"Wendy, if you are as smart as I think you are, come into my arms right now and ask your daughter to call me ‘dad’. I don’t mind getting a free daughter. "I was there at the celebration banquet that night. You looked for some extras to put on a show to make yourself look good. Do you really think that I am afraid of you?"

The arrogant Hugh stiffened his neck and talked down to James in an arrogant tone, unaware of what he was about to face.

"Useless bum, my brother was going to find someone to beat you up. Nevertheless, you’ve shown up at the perfect time! I will give you a chance. Divorce Wendy immediately, kowtow to me, and admit your mistakes. Also, persuade Wendy to be by my side. If you do that, I won’t mention a word about you to my brother, otherwise..."

"I got extras to make myself look good? Zack wants to get someone to teach me a lesson?"

James laughed as though Hugh had told the funniest joke in the world.

"Why are you laughing? I think that your skin is as thick as the city’s wall"

Hugh was irritated by James' lofty and pretentious front.

James said that with a flat tone of voice.

Wendy said as she ran toward James. Her beautiful face was full of worry and anxiety.

She was very touched by what James had done for her.

"Don't be afraid, no one in this world can touch me!"

James was so domineering that it completely stunned Wendy.

James said, "From now on, I will protect you and Bella. I will hurt whoever dares bully both of you."

His decisive words warmed Wendy's heart and tears filled her eyes.

Hugh said through gritted teeth, "You dare hit me? When you’re put in prison, I will make sure you get what you deserve. In York City, the Larson family is not afraid of anyone!"
