"Wow, Mr Summer, this is amazing! You’ll be the father-in-law to the young master of the Moore family! This is enormous!”

The Summers present were shocked. They erupted into conversation instantly.

Even the dignified Old Master Summer was so excited that he grabbed his son's hand, complaining anxiously. "Is he really the eldest young master of the Moore family? Jared, why didn't you tell us earlier?"

"I wanted to give you a surprise," Jared said gleefully.

At the same time, he did not forget to turn back to aim a jab at James and Wendy. "Look at my daughter and son-in-law, and you two. Look at how big the gap between people can get!"

"Stop talking nonsense. Let's go meet Young Master Moore and my baby Jewel."

"Grandfather, why did you come out to meet me in person? I'm so sorry for troubling you."

Jewel pretended to be modest, but at the same time, she shot Wendy a disdainful glance.

"Hello, Grandfather."

Howard, a man in his 20s, was clad from top to bottom in expensive branded clothing. With that serene yet not humble attitude, it was clear that he was from a noble family.

Old Mr Summer put on a warm and gentle smile. "Jewel, you and Howard came to attend my birthday party from far away. Of course, I will come out to meet you! Come on, come on in, go in and take a seat."

Howard took a beautiful box from his servant's hands and said with a smile, "This one-million-dollar ginseng root is my gift to you. I wish for your longevity and fortune."

"Ah, thank you! You don’t need to."

Old Master Summer accepted the gift happily.

Meanwhile, Jewel kicked the bag of gifts at Wendy’s feet deliberately. The bag contained two bottles of liquor that cost a few hundred dollars, a box of cigars worth a few hundreds of dollars, and some fruits. She sneered, “So much stuff, and yet they don’t add up to the value of the ginseng root my husband brought. Poor fools.”

"You!”

Wendy flushed red with anger, but she did not know how to retort.

Jared whispered to Jewel. While they talked, their eyes wandered to James several times.

Jewel scrutinized James from top to bottom. "Wendy, is he the husband you got married to in a flash?”

"Yes."

Wendy had calmed down. Throwing a tantrum would only humiliate her further.

Howard turned to Wendy, and his eyes lit up immediately. What a beautiful woman! She had a curvaceous and sexy figure. She was as mature and alluring as a ripe peach,

She and her husband were like heaven and hell!

"What do you do, Brother-in-law?" Jewel asked intentionally.

No matter what field the other worked in, he would definitely fall short to the eldest young master of the Moore family.

James gave her a cold look. “I work at Siren Pharmaceutical.”

Jewel laughed immediately. "Siren Pharmaceutical? Haha! Aren’t you leeching off your wife, then?

"I heard that you got married into the Fuller family before this. I didn’t expect you to continue the tradition of leeching off your wives even now."

Everyone turned to James at that moment. It was obvious, from the look in their eyes, that they looked down on him.

James frowned, but he stayed silent.

Jewel mistakenly thought that James had nothing to say. She said triumphantly, "Although your marriage has brought trouble to the Summer family, it’ll be fine because my husband will help us. We all are relatives, after all. We won’t let you starve even if Siren goes bankrupt."

Wendy was so angry after her cousin humiliated her publicly. Her face had turned pale.

James said confidently, "I worked as a security guard in the Fullers’ company and now in Siren Pharmaceutical, but there is nothing shameful about it. I guarantee that Siren won’t go bankrupt. Not only that, it will become the largest pharmaceutical corporation in the country."

Howard looked at James with disdain and laughed. "You’re only a security guard. You talk big for your position. Will the company be listed on the stock market just because you said it will be? Will the company become the largest in the country just because you say so? How old are you? Don’t you think that everything you’ve said sounds hilarious?"

He was jealous that James had married such a beautiful wife. The woman was so much more beautiful than Jewel.

When James was about to retort, Old Master Summer turned to stare at him and roared, "Enough! James, you’re just a security guard, but I hope you won’t give up on yourself. I also don’t want you to make a habit out of boasting. There will be no place for you in any event the Summer family organizes if this persists."

"Hah. Leech off your wife all your life. You’re merely a security guard." Jewel was ecstatic. Everyone had said that she was not as good looking as Wendy.

Wendy had given birth to her daughter before marriage, yet everyone still found her more toned and fairer compared to Jewel. Now, Jewel finally got her revenge.

She simpered at Howard. “Dear, we’re all relatives, after all. Maybe you can help James find a job in the company?”

Howard sneered. “I don’t think so. Every employee in the Moore Corporation is an elite. Even the security guards are capable powerhouses who have undergone strenuous training. Not everyone can do the job well. From how pale and weak he looks, I doubt he’ll pass the interview for a security guard.”

While he spoke, he asked James exasperatedly, “What are your strengths?”

“My strengths?”

James asked. He then answered with four words, “Fighting and healing people.”

Fighting?

Healing people?

The Summers looked at one another, bemused.

“Forget about the fighting. That security guard said that he’s good at healing people in front of us, one of the most powerful families in the pharmaceutical field. What on earth?”

“He’s looking down on the Summer family, isn’t he?”

“There’s President Murphy, who’s a Heavenly Physician. And there’s him, a person who assumes that he knows his way around medicine just because he has the same surname as the president! How funny!”

Getting jeered at by everyone, Wendy was so embarrassed that she wanted to hide underground.

Meanwhile, James said nonchalantly, “Your skills are mediocre, and none of you have sharp eyes.”

His words shocked everyone. The Summers erupted in anger. They stared at James, furious.

His words were too arrogant!
