"James, we will give you a year at most. You have to have something to show. You can’t just be a security guard. Otherwise, either you divorce Wendy or we sever ties with the both of you. I will no longer recognize Wendy as my daughter. You can bet that I’ll do what I say!"

Mateo put his foot down and smacked the table fiercely.

Charlotte's expression was also unsightly, but she kept her mouth shut. It was obvious that the couple was serious about it.

James nodded without any hesitation and agreed to their terms. "Okay, I only need less than a year. I’ll make sure that I give Wendy a bright future."

Wendy frowned slightly and stared at James. Her expression was very complicated. She was not sure how to react to the situation.

Mateo stood up and walked outside. "Grandfather Martin appointed me to attend to more important things.
