CHAPTER 7: THE LIFE OF THE SCIENTIST

Based on my observation, it is possible that our answer is incomplete. Maybe there are words missing in it, Adam said while he's tapping his chin many times, his mannerism when he thinks and analyzes situation go deeper.

Aha! You're right Adam! Now, realized that every woman can be a mother, said Vhiann.

But not all of them can give birth. Other women became mothers when they adopt children, Terrence added.

And some women give birth to their children and they are the biological mother, Kesiah emphasized.

So, are you telling us that "BIOLOGICAL MOTHER" is the answer? Kiarra asked.

I don't think so... Come to think of it, not all biological mothers can give birth. They can ask other women to carry their children, and that process is called "Surrogacy" Hannah explained.

Dave said that, "If not Biological Mother is the answer, then why don't we try to say the words, "A MOTHER GIVING BIRTH"?

I think Dave got it right! We don't have enough time, the door blinks and it started to change it color. Look! Terrence pointed.

They shouted the answer...

The door opens, the light comes out from it and they enter the door one by one to get out of the Island of Nowhere.

Yes! Finally we can go home, Terrence jumped with excitement.

All of them are excited to open their eyes and see their families. So, they opened their eyes but they saw every group of people. The first group of people were running while shouting. The second group of people were crying and seems like there are bad people running after them. But the last group were trembling with fear and can't run fast because they are running while looking at their back.

Until, an old man stumbled. Kiarra saw the old man and he looks like his grand father so, he runs toward the old man and helped him stand. She assisted the old man and her friends help them too. They hide on a abandoned train. They locked all the windows and doors.

The old man thanked them. They are all confused why there are people running and they looked so afraid.

Vhiann asks the old man, "What's going on grandpa? What is happening outside?"

The old man answered, there are zombies outside they were running after them until now. Thank you for saving my life dear, he tapped Kiarra's shoulder.

I am so scared, my wife died because of them and she became one of them too. I don't know where she is. When she was bitten by a zombie in her hand and she got infected, she told me to leave her alone and a few minutes she became just like them, the old man discussed.

Each bite is dangerous depending on the part of your body they have bitten you, he added.

When did this started grandpa? Kiarra asked.

According to the news, the first person who had the virus and got infected is a scientist, the old man replied.

But how??? they curiously asked the old man.

Based on what I've heard, that scientist has uncurable disease and he tried to invent some cure for his disease. His disease is rare, he can't go outside his lab every summer because his skin is too sensitive. 1 out of 1 Million people will have such kind of disease, the old man replied.

Unfortunately, he's one of every one million people who had that disease. He can't enjoy her life during summer and can't go with his friends for vacation. His family always have their vacation and the scientist was left alone in the house, he added.

What if the scientist go outside their house during summer? Hannah asked.

Adam said, if the scientist get out of their house during summer, he will die.

This handsome boy is right, said the old man and he tapped Adam's shoulder.

Adam knew the answer because that's his case when summer. If he go outside, he will die instantly and he was so lonely during summer and misses his friends but he was afraid to die. When his friends are asking him to join them, he keeps on telling them that he was sick and can't go out during summer.

The old man continues, that boy decided to become a scientist someday to find the cure to his disease and live normally during summer and if he finds the cure he can go out of his friends and enjoy his life during summer.

One day, the scientist thought that he had invented the perfect cure for his disease. So, he injected it to himself. He go outside of the lab and he felt normal just like the ordinary days and he really enjoyed his life that summer. Before the summer ends, the scientist started to catch his breath and frequently experiencing seizures. He can't control himself until he bites the man walking near the lab. They both became zombies after five minutes and that's how it started, the old man knees was trembling and his hand was shaking when while telling them the story when zombies got started in the town.

The sky gets darker and darker. They are all scared that night but the old man told them to be calm. The zombies can't see, they are like blind people walking in the dark during night. They can only hear at night but vice versa when its morning.

The abandoned train where they stayed the whole night is long, there are windows and doors. If all of those are locked the zombies can't go inside of it.

But that midnight, Adam wake up to check on the doors and windows. He saw the last window opened. He tried to close the window but the zombie bites his hand. He successfully closed the window but Hannah saw his wound caused by the zombie's bite.

We only have five minutes to fix this Adam or else you'll be one of them, Hannah explained

They saw Adam catches his breath and saw his bite on his hand.
