CHAPTER 2: THE CONFUSION

One morning, Hannah wake up with a big smile in her face but when she saw her mom and dad crying, her smile fades and turned into a serious face. She keeps on asking both of her parents what's wrong but they are not answering. She woke up and get off to the bed and shout.

Hey mom! Dad! What's going on? I don't understand what's happening? Please answer me, she asked with a loud shout on them.

But still her mom and dad are crying and it seems like they don't care and they don't hear her asking what's wrong.

I thundering opened the door and walked out. Surprisingly, I saw my friends from my room downstairs. This is the scene I'd never encountered in my whole life because my friends never went in our house even there are special events in my life, she said to herself.

I don't know what to feel but I know I'm nervous, my heart beats so fast than the usual. Cold sweat drops I felt touching my skin. I am still wondering why my friends are in our house, what's the reason why my parents are crying. Honestly, I felt like something bad happened.

Sometimes my friends and I  celebrate those occasions separately, we meet up in the cafe or in any place we wanted to meet up for the celebration. I am so confused, very confused! Ugghh... I hate this feeling!

Hannah tried to go back in her room but she can't open it. She held the door knob and she heard a cracking sound, she tried to open it using a key but it's not working. She decided to go downstairs. She looked at her friends one by one while going down stairs. She saw Vhiann sitting at the sofa in the living room like it is her own house. Kiarra, standing near the television trying to turn it on. Terrence, playing with the keys rotating in his finger. Dave near the main door, holding the door knob. Kesiah combing her hair using her favorite black hair brush and Adam talking with his mom on the phone.

All of these are unsual and I am really confused about it. I saw my mom and dad crying and later on my friends in our house? I mean, what is happening? what are they doing here? Hannah whispered.

Hey guys! What's up? What are you doing here? Is there something wrong?, Hannah asked her friends curiously when she reached the living room.

Hey Hannah! We would like to ask you if you want to go with us. Let's go to the beach!  Remember it's summer, too hot if we stayed at home the whole day, Vhiann said.

Vhiann go to her and hugged Hannah, pleasing her bestfriend to go with them.

This is weird guys. Look, Terrence I thought you go out of the country with your dad? Hannah looked at Terrence reminding him that he said his plan this vacation.

Adam, you're not allowed to go outside your house during summer because you are still sick right? What brings you here and change your mind? Hannah asked him having an eye contact with each other.

Kesiah, you told me before our classes end that you want to enjoy your vacation with your family? Don't get me wrong I'm just asking. Hannah asked Kesiah with a confused face.

Dave, you want to spend time with your little brother right? Where is he? Who will care of him if you're going with us? Hannah asked showing concern but suddenly her facial expression changed.

Kiarra, who would have thought that you're still here. You told us that you will go to the province to spend your vacation with your grand mother and grand father. I thought you were there because you called me last week that you get a flight and that will be today. What's going on? Is there a quick change in all your plans for vacation? Tell me, I'm confused. Hannah held her head and messed up her hair.

Vhiann, I am so confused! You told me that you want to be with your mom this vacation because your parents are separated. What happened? Hannah asked Vhiann widening her eyes.

This is a very confusing day for me and I can't control my emotions because of this. I told you that I'm spending my vacation with my mom and dad. But I think, our vacation is ruined by something unexpected. They are both crying and I don't know why. Now, you are here without sending me a notice that you're coming.

What? What's going on? Please tell me the truth. Call me crazy if you wanted to, but I know this is unsual. Is this a prank? or a dream? Please wake me up, she slapped her face, pinch her cheeks and close her eyes.

She didn't open her eyes for a few minutes thinking that maybe she's just dreaming. Suddenly, someone holds her hand and whispered at her ears these words.. "Don't mind everything"

She thought, the one who holds her hand is Vhiann but it feels like the one who is holding her hand is a guy. They run together holding each other's hand and the door opens itself. She felt like they were about to leave the house crossing the main door when she heard a loud creepy sound of door closing.

She opened her eyes and she saw Dave. He take off his hand with Hannah's hand before she sees it but it's too late. At the back of them are Kiarra, Kesiah, Vhiann, Terence and Adam didn't join his friends teasing the two. He was so jealous while teasing them saying "Yiiiieeeeeeee, Dave, the moves!"

Hannah smiled at Dave and Dave smiled back to her. It feels like the time freezes and the world stop rotating. Adam looked at them with a jealous face trying to avoid them seeing happy together so he looked back like he doesn't want to see Hannah smiling with oher guy. Suddenly he heard Terrence's shout.

Guys, guys! Look! Terence shouted with fear.

Hannah and Dave are still staring at each other but they heard Terence's shout.

Dave run towards Terence's position. Hey bro! Wha.....Whaaaat's happpp..pening? he asked while catching his breath. Gasping...

Bro Look! We are in a war field, why are we here? How come? Terence asked.

Hey bro! Don't let the girls see that you are afraid. Look at Adam he is protecting the girls, Dave said.

The girls are afraid, they feel so scared! We have to find ways to get out of this. How we get there? I don't know why. It's weird that we get here after leaving Hannah's house, Adam told them leaving questions in all their minds.

Dave, there is a house! Kiarra points out where the house located.

We better stay there let us save our lives from the war if we want to go back with our parents alive! Heyyyyyyyyy Terence let's go! Kesiah shouted at Terence who is just standing there like a mannequin which can't move because of trauma.

Terrrrrrrreeeeeeennnnccceeeeee! Go run! The soldiers are about to shut their opponent, Hannah shouted.

Vhiann, let's go. Adam holds Vhiann's hand and helped her to stand, go to a safe place.

On the other hand, Dave, Kesiah, Kiarra and Hannah run as fast as they can to save their lives.

But suddenly, they heard something explode, a very loud explosion

Booooooooommmmmm!

They also heard gunshots and it made them stop running. They saw Terrence with lots of blood in his body and a bullet in his head...

Teeeeeerrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeennnccceee!!!! A loud shout from his friends was heard.
