CHAPTER 19: JUST THE TWO OF THEM

Hey! How many bottles did you prepare again? So-so-sorry I forgot, he asked Andre.

We have prepared 100 bottles of cure, Andre answered. You are forgetful Adam, he said while scratching his head.

If you think the bottles of cure we have are not enough. We should give our blood samples again. Another 2 bags of blood from us, one bag of yours and mine, Hannah suggested.

It's enough for the zombies inside the two rooms where I locked them. The problem is, the zombies outside this laboratory. We don't have enough cure for them as of now, Adam explained to them.

I don't think that's a good idea Hannah, if we do that again you'll get weak and you have to rest for many hours, the old man replied. We can only get blood from you after six (6) months that's the rule even in donating bloods.

Ohh nooo! This is a bad! The cured people screamed and covered their faces.

Someone from the cured people walked and offered his help. I'm Kim, I'm one of scientists trying to find out the cure. But because of excitement, I go outside our house and bring the news to my company that my theory about blood samples are strongly proven. At that moment someone bites me from the back when I was about to enter in our laboratory blood sampling then I became zombie too, Kim said.

What theory have you proved that might help us? The old man asked him.

I'm a big fan of yours Sir. It's an honor to help you and use my proven theory about blood samples, he answered.

Please let me help you and suggest something that might help you solve the problem, Kim begged.

Then, tell me what is it? So, we can start using it, the old man allowed him to help.

Thank you for trusting me Sir. This is what I have found out. If we got cured there's a possibility that we already have the antibodies needed for the cure, he added. We should try it, Sir.

You have a point handsome scientist, let's try it, the old man replied.

I think, while you're doing that. Hannah and I should go to the biggest room here in the lab to bring them the cure, Adam said. Let's go Hannah, he holds Hannah hand and they walk together.

The scientists started to produce bottles of cure from the blood of the cured people. On the other hand, Adam and Hannah did the same strategy to cure the infected people inside the room.

They were successfully cured 76 people from the biggest room. They silently assist the cured people getting out of the room so they'll not be infected again. They all went to the experiment room but apparently, the room doesn't have space for a hundred plus people.

The cured people decided to divide themselves into two team. Team A will be staying in the experiment room and the Team B will be staying in the room opposite to the experiment room. To be safe, they asked Hannah and Adam to locked both of the room so that nobody can enter the rooms.

The more people got cured the more chances to get antibodies from them.

They all did what according to the plan. But the problem is...

Based on the lab test, the blood samples of the cured people can't fight over the viruses.

The only way to save the infected people are Adam and Hannah's blood plasma. What they have to know is that, how many people are infected? Are there any people just like them to help them save the town?

After the last 76 people cured, they undergo the lab test. Sadly, none of them have the blood plasma which can fight to the viruses. They don't have a choice.

Hannah and Adam started to get worry with the problem and they asked themselves if they can save all of the people in town. It would be so hard for them to choose whom they want to get back to normal, of course they want all of them to be cured but how?

If we can save many people every single day, why don't we sacrifice our strength. There's a lot of people who can do our job injecting the cure, Hannah said.

So, are you telling me that, we will just stay in the experiment room and other people will do the injecting? Asked Adam.

You both have to stay here to gain strength after getting your blood plasma. For sure if we do that everyday, you'll both get weak, said the old man.

Hannah is right Adam; you both have to rest. In fact, there are many cured people now who can do the injecting, Andre added.

I don't think so, only the two of us can do that, they don't have the antibodies that can fight for, what if the infected people were bitten by them? They'll get back being zombies again and the cycle will do the same, the history repeats itself again until no one will be left as normal person explained Adam. Unlike us, even if we were bitten by them, we can cure ourselves from their bites, he added.

I think Adam is right. What we have to do is to sacrifice our strength just to save them. If we'll not do that, we were stuck here, Hannah agreed. But one thing is for sure, all the zombies inside the lab have cured. The problem is, the zombies outside, she added.

As of now, what you have to do is to trust us, Adam said. Every person's life is important, all of us want to live and get back to our normal life. Let's just help each other, he added.

I don't think there's a lot of infected in the town. They might be few, if the people have watched the news when the virus started, they would rather stay in their house and secure their family's safety, Kim said.

I think Kim is right!

Then, we should find it out, how many people here in the town are still safe, Andre uttered.
