Chapter 5

I got back home and looked for the card i was given by Doctor White and i saw it, shakily I dialed the number, i heard his thick voice over the phone "Hello" i took a deep breathe

"Hello Doctor White, this is Aubrey" i say and i could feel him smile over the phone 

"Are you ready" he asks me and i replied him

"Yes i am" i tell him 

"Alright, meet me at Culla's Cafe" he says and hung up

I looked at me phone and sighed well it's now or never 

I walked out of my house and took a cab to the cafe, i got there and tried to locate him but when I didn't see him i took a sit and waited for him

A waiter comes to meet me and asked if i wanted something but i said no, Ten minutes had passed and he hasn't gotten here yet

Maybe he has changed his mind i sighed and looked down at the table. I heard a tap on the table and i looked up to see who it was and it was the almighty Doctor White, he sits opposite me and looks at me.

"Have you eaten?" He asks me and i shook my head, he beckoned on the waiter to come and he orders food for me

"We are going to sign a contract tomorrow, i have asked my lawyer to draft a contract " he says and i nod

"Are you a Virgin?" He asks me and i nod although it was very awkward 

"I guessed as much, that's perfect i will pay the 400, 000$ for your sister's surgery and also give you an extra 600, 000$ after your work has been done, Apart from your salary at the end of the contract, i will give you 50,000$ for your upkeep during your pregnancy " he says nonchalantly and my mouth was agape

I was going to get all of these just for carrying a baby

I realized that my mouth was open and i closed it. "You would be staying at my house during the course of your pregnancy, no child of mine is going to be staying at that thing you call a house, i also expect you to sign the contract at my office before your sister's surgery,so are we good?" He asks as though he didn't just insult me

"Yes we are, but my sister's surgery hasn't been decided yet" i say and he smirks at me 

"Just know that your sister's surgery is by 11am tomorrow morning, so get to my office by 9am sharp, is that clear?" He  says and i nod

"That's perfect, see you tomorrow Aubrey" he walks towards the cashier and paid, i watched as he left and truthfully i was dumbfounded, first off this man was very rude but I really can't think about that now. I am going to get so much for carrying a child

I started to eat my food and left when i was done, i walked back home still surprised by everything that had just happened, on my way back i got a call from the same number that called me two days before 

"Hello" i said and waited for a response but I wasn't getting any, i sighed and cut the call. This person keeps calling me and now i wasn't sure it is my mom anymore.

I got back home and quickly got undressed, i lay on my bed and tried to sleep but obviously I couldn't sleep, i am going to sign a contract that would change my entire life, i am going to sign a contract become a surrogate mother for this man. How would i tell June about the pregnancy, but i would think about it later.

The next morning i got dressed and took a cab to the hospital, when i got there i asked the nurse at the reception for Doctor White's office and she directed me upstairs I didn't even know his full name

I took the elevator upstairs to his office and i saw his name boldly written on the door and i knocked.

I waited a while and heard a come in, I opened the door and went in. His office was definitely the biggest office i have ever been not that you've been to many my subconscious reminded me and i internally rolled my eyes.

"Are you going to stand there all day or you're going to sit and lets get over this" he says and i flinched at the sound of his voice. I had forgotten he was in the room

I quietly took a sit and folded my hands on my lap, waiting for him to speak

"Good morning " he greeted me and passed a file to me, telling me to read it carefully and ask him if I didn't understand it

I nodded and collected it from him, the contract stated everything he had told me yesterday, except from where it stated if I refused to leave after i give birth i would be taken to court and also there should be no contact between us anymore after the contract, and also I wasn't forced to sign the contract.

After reading it properly i signed it and that was it, there was no going back anymore within a few days i would be pregnant. I handed the file back to him and he took it

"I would give you a copy of the contract later and also on no circumstance should any one know you are my surrogate and also about our deal. If by any chance you're seen at my house you should tell them that you're there to help me with my house chores " he says and i looked at him

You mean your house help!" I repeated and he nods

"If that's all you can leave" he points towards the door and i stood up to leave but he stops me

"Do you have an account?" He asks and i nod

"Perfect, write it down" he hands me a sheet of paper and a pen, after i was done i stood up and left

I walked back to June's room and i saw her awake, she sees me immediately and smiles 

"Bre!" She calls out my name and i smile at her

"Juju, you would be taken out soon, so you can get better but i would be right here waiting for you" i say and she nods, Still smiling at me

"Thank you for the food Bre, I really liked it" she says and i kissed her forehead 

"You're welcome babygirl " i tell her and Doctor hales comes in

"Aubrey, you're here you would have to excuse us, June needs to get ready" he tells me and i nod

"Thank you Doctor" i looked at June and touched her cheeks

"I love you sis" i say and she smile

"I love you too Bre bre" i kissed her forehead and went back to the hall way and waited
