The Meeting
Kataya MoonAkaisha ended the call with Dave on a peaceful note. There was a time she had felt that he liked her more than a coworker but then one day that feeling was gone. It was as if the notion was wiped from his head. A part of her thought to ask but she didn't care to have any romantic entanglements with anyone. She finished her bath and got ready for bed. Blue jumped on the bed right behind her. The next day was gloomy and rainy. The day looked as how she felt, knowing that the repressed powers were back to cause her mayhem. It was 9 A.M when she heard the buzzing at front door. Akaisha hadn’t even gotten ready for the day when she looked out to see it was Dave. She used the intercom to let him know that she will be ready soon. She felt it would be rude if she did her normal morning routine and left him waiting. After she quickly got dressed, she invited him inside so that she could get Blue ready for the day. Dave came in and took a seat. “Take your time. We don't have to be in the office right away.”
“No, that wouldn't be right. Besides, I'm not even sure what I’ll be doing anyway if Mahima isn’t there. Were going to the hospital to check on her right? I wouldn’t mind if we did it after work since I won’t be on the clock.”
Dave chuckled; he knew that Mahima was a difficult person to work with. He once worked with her before he moved on to his current boss. “Ya, we can go after work. Are you finished now?” Akaisha was just grabbing her backpack when he asked her that. “Yep all set.” She waited for him to stand up and walk ahead of her. Just before locking the door she looked back at Blue, “Be a good girl.”
Dave and Akaisha made it to the studio to see that James and his temporary costar were talking amongst themselves. She looked like an ethereal beauty. The station manager came up to her and spoke candidly with her. “Until Mahima is out of the hospital then you’ll be working with Amethyst, she’s half celestial.” Akaisha nodded her head in understanding. She thought about how that explains why Amethyst was so beautiful. She was in fact a bispecieal being. Not meaning to she heard the thoughts of Amethyst. ‘I'm so glad that Mahima took a tumble. I’d never have had my chance any other way. James is so cute. Oh, I have to work extra hard so they keep me and replace Mahima.’ Akaisha figured her thoughts were pure. It was a different feeling being able to sense someone as pure as Amethyst.
Amethyst hardly asked Akaisha to do anything for her. It was a mix of happiness and despair. The one hand it was nice not being in the go all the time but it also made the day seem to lag for her. When there was a break in between news casts, Dave and Akaisha headed to the hospital to see Mahima. When they got there, they could hear her yelling from down the hall. The two of them looked at each other and sighed. It was hard to keep from groaning when Mahima was in one of her moods. At least they both knew she was well. Dave went ahead inside, Akaisha was about to walk in when she picked up on an ominous feeling. Her head snapped to attention towards the feeling when she was called back by Mahima’s grating voice. “MORNINGSTAR! Don’t just stand in the doorway go bring the nurse here.” Her eyebrow quirked at her demanding tone. “You can just call the nurse yourself. I only came to see if you are well. Looks like you are. See ya. Dave I’ll be waiting for you in the car.” Before Mahima could even say a retort Akaisha had already left.
Professor Jay was at the hospital waiting for his prized pupil. He felt her complex aura. He wanted to meet her outside of the hospital but after hearing how her boss spoke to her it was only a matter of time before she would sense him and another fight would ensue. Although he was looking forward to another spar with her, he needed her to be calmer when they next spoke. Professor Jay started to think that the best way to get her to be calm was to project his thoughts into her stupid mutt. He waited to enter Mahima room under the guise of a doctor. The notion that she treated Akaisha as if she were her own personal slave aggravated him immensely but he needed her to push Akaisha to him. He needed her help to rule the galaxy. Make sure the children of the universe would be able to live their lives without fear of being used and abused. He walked into her room with her hologram chart in his hands. “Miss Mahima, I see that you have a bit of a concussion. You will be able to leave tomorrow after we do an observation on you. It won’t take a lot of time.”
“I will be able to leave tomorrow? That’s great. I need to hurry and get back on the news.”
He gave her a slight smile. “Ah, I see you did look familiar. Well as long as you take it easy you will be back on the air quickly.” He flicked the hologram files up the. Looked tense Dave was still there. “Sir, I’ll need you to leave the room. This is a private discussion. Are you family?”
Dave knew that he needed to leave. The voice he heard sounded familiar. He didn’t remember ever meeting the doctor but he was sure he heard that voice in his head before. “Sure. Mahima, we can speak tomorrow.” He got up and left the room, closing the door behind himself for privacy. Professor Jay watched him leave and began to give her an examination. Mahima was being a decent patient with him. “Mahima listen to my voice.” Professor Jay started to use hypnosis on her to get her to do his will. Mahima fell into a deep sleep after he was done. Professor Jay stealthily left her room. The nurses and doctors around him ignored his presence, which allowed him to leave the hospital in peace.

It wasn’t hard to understand what he was saying but to actually meet a designer baby born in the GMW, genetically modified womb, made her feel as if she wasn’t alone. Even if it wasn’t truly the same, for a small moment, she felt a kinship with him. “I see. So did they also try to give you talents too? I’ve heard that’s how some super beings were formed.”“No, my parents, they wanted me to be as normal as possible without the stress of having to deal wit

Akaisha had went back and forth mentally with calling him until her link started to ring. It was the sergeant calling her instead. She stared at her phone until the last second. “Yes?”There was a heavy silence at first but then she heard a cough on the other end. Acheki was clearing his throat. “I couldn’t find anything out about you. Our system was created by him.” There was a brief pause. “How do I know you are telling the truth; I mean you could just be tr

Akaisha was still checking out places when she felt it had been long enough for the Sergeant to have gotten some information. She had just gotten to the last listing when it seemed it was perfect, perfectly run down. The outside was dreary. There was a hole in top of the roof. The windows were bashed out and boarded up. She looked at it and smiled. This was perfect. There would be no reasons for the council to veto any remodeling plans. Pulling up the listing she contacted the realtor. Within minutes Akaisha had paid the amount for the listing. The paperwork was sent to the mailbox for signing. After putting her seal and information on it she requested her personal
