At this moment, a cold aura immediately enveloped the entire room.

A number of global economic powerhouses were in alliance to whip up a storm?

The Quarles family’s stocks were freefalling?

In a blink of an eye, the Quarles family had lost ten to twenty billion bucks?

George trembled when he heard that. He almost passed out.

However, it seemed all of that was merely just the beginning, as the supervisor for their IT department barged in to add more bad news. “Chairman, it’s really bad. Our company is being attacked by world-class hackers. All our computers are completely dead. Even the company’s internet network is crippled. All our confidential files have been leaked.”

“Chairman, not good. All of our business partners are suing us for breach of contract. They’ve already sent our legal team a lawyer’s letter as a warning!” The legal department’s supervisor frantically told George.

“Chairman sir, it’s not good…”

In just a moment, countless people came barging into the chairman’s office and every single one of their complaints felt like heavy impacts against George’s chest.

Splash! Splash!

Beads of sweat began to drip from George’s forehead. His vision went black, like he was suffocating.

Sean said to George in a casual tone, “Master Quarles, is there a problem now?”

“This is your doing? All of this is your doing?” George stared at Sean, trembling with fear.

A menacingly intimidating aura radiated from Sean, as if he had the true high ground. “All you need to do now is tell me that we don’t have a problem!”

“Chairman, this is the brat? You fool, you have some nerve crossing our chairman. You truly have a death wish! Come on, boys. Let's toss him out and beat him up!” At this very moment, the security supervisor came up with his team.

“Slap!”

Just as the supervisor was about to touch Sean, George stepped forward and immediately slapped the supervisor’s face. Furiously, he bellowed “Enough! No one will be so disrespectful toward Mr. Young!”

The security supervisor looked confused as he held his warm cheek.

Was his orders not to toss this brat out? Why was the chairman furious at him now?

George stared at Sean with an instantly fearful look under the watchful eyes of so many of his employees. “Not a problem at all, Mr. Young. Don’t you worry. Just leave this small matter to me. Maise will be made the supervisor on behalf of the Thompson family. That will be absolutely no problem at all!”

“I don’t want too many people to know about this incident.” With that, Sean left.

As George stared after Sean’s departure, he politely said, “Safe travels, Mr. Young!”

All of the higher executives in the Quarles family were shocked to see how much George prostrated himself before the young man.

George snapped out of his shock after Sean left. He knew the Quarles family was saved. If he had acted foolishly earlier, the entire Quarles family could be completely ruined by his stupidity.

“Remember.” George addressed everyone in the office with a menacing face. “Keep an absolutely tight lip on today’s incident. Anyone who mentions a word about it out there will be fired!”

Everyone trembled. They were all completely terrified by what had happened, so no one even dared speak a word of the incident.

It was already evening when Sean returned home. Maisie was anemic, so Sean made some red date porridge for her. He brought the food to her. “Maisie, have some porridge!”

Maisie had no appetite to eat. She was too busy thinking of her inability to obtain the business contract from the Quarles.

Sean smiled at her. “Maisie, everything’s done, so don’t you worry. The Quarles family will send someone to deliver the contract to you tomorrow.”

“Really?” Maisie’s flawlessly beautiful face was shocked.

Sean replied with a serious nod, “Absolutely. I assure you that I’m not lying!”

Maisie stared at Sean skeptically, but she could not sense that Sean was making it up.

Sean had never lied to her in the five years they were together. Maisie knew that very well.

However, Maisie was very skeptical at the moment; she wondered if Sean was joking with her?

Sean knew Maisie was still unconvinced, so he reiterated once again, “Maisie, Moses and I felt like amazingly close friends the moment we met. I had him work out an agreement for me this time.”

“So that’s why!” Maisie finally understood everything.

Moses from the Langston family had given them a 300 thousand bucks business deal during the Thompson Family Summit. If Sean was actually able to ask Moses for help this time, it would make complete sense that everything went without a single hitch.

Sean brought the bowl of porridge to Maisie. “Maisie, hurry up and eat!”

It was only after that did Maisie accept that bowl of porridge. She started eating slowly.

Sean was not complacent, so he got up, picked up Maisie’s clothes from the washroom, and began to wash them.

Maisie’s beautiful eyes glimmered with a peculiar flash as she stared at Sean's back.

Could he have actually got the business contract?

Sean knew Maisie’s heart could not feel calm at this moment. He cracked an extremely loving smile.

A man should always protect four things in his lifetime. First would be the Earth beneath his feet, second would be his parents in his home, third would be the woman in his arms, and the fourth would be the friends by his side.

With those tenets, Sean would use every ounce of his strength to keep Maisie from any harm.

When it was 10 p.m. all lights were to be switched off and only silence would remain. This was the only thing that the duo could agree on for all these years.

However, Sean slept on the floor. He was never allowed to share a bed with Maisie without her permission.

The following day, Maisie woke up at six to work out. Sean had already prepared breakfast for her.

When they arrived at the company’s main entrance, an extremely luxurious car worth over a couple hundred thousand bucks pulled up in front of Maisie. George got out of the car.

When he noticed Maisie, he spoke in a very polite tone, “Good morning. Miss Thompson. This is the business agreement between the Quarles family and the Thompson family!”

“What?” Everything felt like a dream when Maisie accepted the contract.

The contract was actually in her hands.

With a glance from Sean, who stood next to Maisie, George left respectfully.

They could hear Houston’s arrogant voice when they entered the company. “Hehe! I personally made the effort to meet up with Young Master Luis and he personally agreed to collaborate with the Thompson family. I’ll be getting the contract later today.”

“Wow, Houston, you sure are the most capable Thompson. You truly make us proud. It seems it will not take long for our family to make a name for ourselves in the Great Central Land!”

“Yeah! As long as we have Brother Houston, our family’s reputation will only grow better by the day. Unlike some pretentious people!”

Maisie was furious when she heard that remark.

It was all because she was a woman. Even though she produced the best results and numbers every month, people still sided with Houston without so much as looking at her!

“Click! Clack!”

Old Madam Thompson arrived at the company right then.

Upon noticing Old Madam Thompson’s arrival, Houston rushed over toward her and excitedly said, “Grandma, Young Master Luis has already agreed to collaborate with our family!”

“Really? That’s truly wonderful!” Old Madam Thompson was incredibly happy.

With their collaboration with the Quarles, it would only be days away from the Thompson family’s rise to fortune and wealth.

Houston mocked Maisie as he glared at her. “Hehe! Maisie, I’m really sorry, but it seems you’re gonna be exiled from our company very soon.”

“What are you delaying for? Didn’t you hear Houston got the contract? Hurry up and leave!” A bunch of Thompson family members unreasonably exclaimed.

They had long hated the fact that Maisie produced the best numbers every month and wanted nothing more than to exile her from the family immediately.

Old Madam Thompson glared at Maisie coldly and said, “Maisie, you should honor your word. I will not formally announce that…”

“Pardon me, Grandma. We already have the business contract with the Quarles family with us!” Sean exclaimed, waving the contract around before Old Madam Thompson could make her announcement.

“Huh!!!”

Maisie and Sean successfully obtained the business contract?

Everyone’s eyelids twitched as they stared at the contract in Sean’s hand.
