Chapter 10

Author: Polymathēs
The concierge’s face was very unpleasant as he glared at Sean. He had no mercy for Sean. To the concierge, Sean was just penniless, he was penniless, sick in the head, and a trouble maker.

It was normal for such a luxurious hotel to encounter a few poverty-stricken vagabonds coming forward for the fun of it. The concierge was determined that Sean was one of those people.

Being humiliated in front of everyone, Sean's face suddenly turned serious. "Poor, you say?"

Knowing that Sean did not grasp the situation, the concierge quickly added, "Something else to add? Young man, do you even realize where you’ve stepped foot? Do you know how much it would cost to book the hall? Ten million bucks! At least that amount! You would never make that much even if you worked your *ss off your entire life."

The concierge then turned around and glared at the waiter. Mercilessly, he barked, "Next time, just shoo beggars like him off the premises!"

"S…sir!" The waiter was trembling after being yelled at

The concierge repeated, "Enough blabbering. Get this young man out of here, now."

"Poor? You must be mistaken." Sean's tone was colder.

The concierge turned his burning glare toward Sean. "Still here, young man? I’m not looking down on you, but look in the mirror. Is what you’re wearing even worth a 100 bucks? Dressed so plainly and trying to act like a big shot. Security, get him out of here!"

A few fierce guards came charging into the hall at the concierge’s orders.

"Stop this nonsense! You dare lay a finger on him!"

Just when the guards were about to lay hands on Sean, a blazing roar ripped through the hall. It was Moses Langston, burning with dominance.

"Stop!" Moses Langston, dressed in an Armani suit and a Constantine watch worth millions, was greeted with open arms by the concierge.

One look and the concierge immediately knew that he was a filthy rich son from a wealthy family. It was best not to get on bad terms with people like him. With Moses closing the gap and reaching the counter, the concierge's expression changed from contempt to reverent. "Greetings, sir. How can I help you?"

Moses ignored him and went up to Sean instead to show his concern. "Your Highness, are you alright?"

'Your Highness?'

The concierge was stunned to hear Moses, a man of such repute, greeting a lousy guy as 'his Highness'. This was followed by the observation of the Rolls-Royce’s car keys in Moses' hand. It was at this moment, the concierge sensed that something was not right.

Could the two of them know each other? Was this good-looking young man only a servant to this lousy guy?

"Didn't I order you to stay in the car? Why are you here?” Sean was shocked at Moses's presence.

Moses claimed, "I had to rush in when I saw the guards rushing into the hotel. I was worried about your Highness's safety!"

The concierge witnessed everything and realized what a grave mistake he had made. He turned to face the waiter sternly. "What is wrong with you? Didn't you see that our customer arrived in a Rolls-Royce Phantom?"

"Sir, you misunderstood. I tried to explain, but you didn’t give me a chance!" the waiter hastily claimed.

The concierge was speechless. To have some elegant young man, clad in Armani and decorated with Constantine, to call the lousy guy 'your Highness' must mean he must be encountering some hot shot disguised as a poor beggar.

Reflecting on his attitude, if he really turned out to be rich, then he had just dug his own grave.

Sean looked into the concierge’s eyes. "Since I can’t book the hall, then I might as well buy the whole building. You can leave."

Everyone had their limits. The way the concierge judged and ostracized Sean based on appearances made Sean really angry.

The concierge was shocked to hear his declaration.

'Buy the whole building? And he was asked to leave?'

All of a sudden, the concierge laughed like a madman. "What trick are you playing now? Buying Royal Imperial Hotel? Boys, you think this is a place for guys of your standard to be fooling around? I bet you rented the car as well. I assume it must have burned a tremendous hole in your pocket?"

Sean's claim to buy the entire building made the concierge forget all of his fears; he figured that the duo were faking to be filthy rich.

The Royal Imperial Hotel was known to be the top luxurious hotel in the Great Central City, valued at more than 200 million bucks on the market. Sean was claiming to buy the entire building. Obviously, it was just talk. Very few people in all of Great Central City were capable of buying a building of such grandeur.

The man standing before him was just a young upstart. The concierge underestimated him completely. He bet his life that the young man could never buy the luxurious Royal Imperial Hotel.

Hearing Sean and Moses talking up such a big game made it clear that they rented the high-classed Rolls-Royce Phantom just for show. He had seen plenty of such people in his life.

"Ah!" In the face of the dismissive concierge, Sean smiled, scratching his head.

Poor? He booked a luxury car for appearances? Ridiculous!

As the second generation Supreme Leader of the world's top secret organization, Sean was in control of at least half of the world's fortune. To Sean, the Royal Imperial Hotel was not out of the question. Anything in this world that could be purchased with money; it was a small matter. To Sean, money was just numbers.

"Mark, what’s happened?" A middle-aged man with casual attire entered the Royal Imperial Hotel.

The concierge was in high spirits once he recognized the man, "Boss, these two renting a luxury vehicle claims that they’re going to purchase Royal Imperial Hotel!"

"What? Purchase Royal Imperial Hotel?" The middle-aged man was stunned and at the same time furious. He sized up Sean and Moses head to toe, and his face showed his displeasure. One was dressed so plainly, while the other was dressed to the nines. They had to be renting the car for appearances.

The middle-aged man addressed Sean as he said, "My name is Phillip Hannover. I heard you both intend on purchasing this hotel? Do you have any idea how much it is worth?"

"Your Highness, I had done the research; the Royal Imperial Hotel is currently worth about 230 million bucks!" Moses Langston had already checked out the building’s market value.

Sean looked back at Phillip. "Yup. I’ll double the amount and make it a round figure. 500 million bucks, deal or no deal?"

‘Round off to 500 million bucks?'

That young man was claiming to purchase the Royal Imperial Hotel with 500 million bucks?

Phillip’s expression changed; the market value of the Royal Imperial Hotel was indeed worth 230 million bucks. If this man wanted to buy it for 500 million, it would mean double the profit!

"Are you certain? Let me make this clear, if you are here to cause trouble, you will be in big trouble!" Phillip Hannover was thrilled by the offer.

Sean wanted to end the transaction without wasting further effort. “Give me your bank account numbers!"

"621662…" Phillip Hannover recited a string of numbers to Sean.

"Who do you think you are? When I’m through with you, you’ll be sorry!" The concierge was still furious.

To him, Sean was just trying to act tough on the surface and refused to back down. When he failed to show up with the promised amount of money, he would be sure to beat Sean up to pulp.

Phillip Hannover then fixed his gaze upon Sean. His maddened expression had not subsided. He would not let this young man off the hook if he failed to show up with the agreed amount.

Ding!

Just as the entire crowd still thought that Sean was just acting like a rich upstart, Phillip Hannover’s handphone rang. He received a message from the bank.

The Protégé   Chapter 31

With precise instructions and professional skills, Richard knew right away that Sean's medical knowledge was far greater than his.Three-needled resuscitation technique? Everyone held their breath as they heard it.According to legend, when a patient was really ill, just three needles in three areas of the body that coincided with the patient's sickness could stabilize the patient and save them. Unfortunately, this technique was not passed down to the younger generations. Many tried to recreate it, but it has been fruitless. With so many acupuncture points on the body, no one could guarantee the three specific acupuncture points that could save a patient's life.Zac was petrified. 'Three-needled resuscitation technique? I thought this technique didn’t exist anymore? How could that Thompson scumbag know about it?'At the same time, the crowd looked at Sean in a different way. One man stood up, "Mr. Young, please forgive what we did earlier. We’re so embarrassed!""The person who’s

"Quick! Grab that Thompson scumbag!" The crowd was in chaos, as if Sean had incurred their wrath. A group of people rushed in and pinned Sean's head against the floor. They were completely ready to throw him out of the operating theater. The genius doctor, Richard did not manage to get further instructions as he was inserting the second acupuncture needle, the commotion caused him to panic. The alarm went off, ringing louder and louder. Old Master Greg was in mortal danger."This is ridiculous!" Richard turned around and saw the group of fierce people pinning the young man down. The one who gave the order was his own student, Zac Walter, and that made him even more furious."Mas…master!" Zac trembled with fear, sensing Richard’s rage. The crowd piling on top of Sean was afraid too; they did not want to offend the genius doctor Richard, since no one could guarantee if they would be forever healthy.Richard with his pale, old face looked at Sean with glittering eyes, "What's next?

The crowd started smirking. The crowd treated Sean as a joker, seeking attention. Zac sneered as well. What a tw*t! Cardiac diseases were life-threatening. That was common sense."Young man, if you still won't leave, I’ll have to get the security to throw you out!" Zac had lost his patience."What happened?" In that moment, a big, middle-aged man with wise eyes entered the scene. He let out a very strong aura. He was Michael Greg, the head of the Greg family, one of the four Great families of the Great Central Land.Michael rushed for the hospital once he heard the news that his father had a heart attack. Upon arriving, he witnessed Zac and Sean’s debate. Zac identified the man who arrived at the scene and smiled. "Mr. Greg, actually…"Zac narrated the entire story, but all the while, exaggerated it. After hearing the story, Michael looked furious. He looked at Sean from head to toe and said, "You can treat my father?""Yes!" Sean nodded. The crowd sneered at Sean in their hearts

The next day, Sean arrived at a nearby park as usual."Young’s arrived!" Greeted two elders who were playing a game of chess when they saw Sean arrive.Sean smiled. "Mr. Greg, Mr. White." As Sean greeted the two elders, he took a seat by their side and watched them play chess. The two elders were playing a game of Go. For the past five years, almost everyday, these two elders would be present for a few games of Go, except when there was bad weather. As time passed, Sean and the two elders became friends, despite not having much conversation.A true gentleman never interrupted whenever a game of Go was going on. Sean observed the Go battle from the side for about two hours. Sean excused himself when the third round had ended. As Sean left, the elder in the white robe smiled. "Mr. Greg, what do you think of that young man?""He’s indeed an educated young man. He does not cross lines and has very good behavior."The other elder in the red robe continued softly, "Say, how did he end

"Alright, I understand!" Sean bitterly smiled as he scratched his nose. Even now, Maisie still held onto the idea that everything that Sean planned was with Moses Langston helping behind the scenes. In Maisie's point of view, Sean was unable to achieve any of this without Langston’s aid. There was nothing much Sean could do nor explain. Even if he were to reveal his true identity as the Supreme Leader of the world's most secret organization, Maisie would not buy it.Most importantly, Sean had not practiced the Supreme Dragon method to its highest level. Revealing his true identity would only welcome drastic consequences. After all, there were too many assassins on their way to end him and too many people from the organization eyeing for his position, let alone the numerous enemies the organization had accrued since its inception. Once those people knew where he was hiding out, they would be sure to use any underhanded method to get rid of him. If his identity was revealed, not only wo

Sean's statement struck the crowd like a heavy hammer. Everyone present looked disgusted, but Sean was the only one enjoying that moment. The shape of his mouth changed as coldly smiled, glaring at the disgusted faces of the crowd. The Thompsons all felt extremely ashamed of their actions toward Sean the days before the party. They all thought that Sean was just a scumbag and would be one till the end of their days. Never had they thought that Sean would present a surprise like this so publicly. Since the beginning of the party, it only took merely 10 minutes for the faces of the Thompsons to change from excited, anticipation to what the surprise Sean might have, to being stunned, then ashamed.Since things had come to this, the Thompsons felt way too ashamed to be there. Everyone gradually made their way to the exit, unhappy with the way things turned out. Maisie, on the other hand, was in pure bliss when the crowd dismissed themselves from her party.Five years. For five whole yea

"Maisie, my dear, do you like it?" Sean asked with a peaceable smile.Maisie was so touched that her face was full of tears. She looked into Sean’s eyes like an overjoyed little girl, answering, "Thank you so much, Sean. Thank you for the surprises you’ve given me.""You’re most welcome, my deares

"Oh my God!"The crowd surrounding the Royal Imperial Hotel was beyond impressed with the display. No one had expected to witness such a touching moment."Lighting up 3,000 lights and opening up the entire city. That’s a little too romantic, isn't it?” said a lady who was obviously jealous."Yeah

"Sean Young? How could Sean be the mogul?" Jasmine shouted like a crazy lady. Houston was also stunned as well; he too, obviously, did not expect the mogul that had been the center of massive news in the Great Central Land to be Sean Young."How could it be Sean?" The Thompson family was in uproar,

Sean's speech was so soothing, yet it struck Maisie’s heart like a bolt of lightning. She was on the brink of crying, so touched by Sean’s actions. Everything that was happening in front of her was all like a dream come true, and that only made it harder for Maisie to accept that it was actually hap
