15 Minutes

KEITH GREY POV

I woke up when I heard my phone rang. I look beside me and smile at the sight of Vale’s sleeping figure.

“Princess, wake up,”

I touch her cheek gently.

She moves a little and mumbles sleepily and slept back. I chuckle and slowly sat up, reaching my phone on the table.

Caleb’s name lit up on my phone screen.

I slide my finger across the screen and put the phone on my ear.

“Yeah?”

“It’s 15 minutes before midnight, have you found her?” His tone was cold.

I look at the clock on my phone screen, cursing when I saw he was right.

“Fine, fine... I’m coming back, I’m on my way. No need to worry mom,” I emphasised at the word mom.

“I asked you a question, Keith!” he shouted at me.

I grimace as I rub my temple before I hung up. Serve you well. Shouting to a gang leader.

“Vale, wake up. We have to go back,”

I whisper as I give butterfly kisses on her face knowing very well it irritates her.

I would like to carry her sleeping figure on my car. But then, I might don’t know how to get out of here considering there’s a robot that was ready to shoot me. With a laser.

She groans before opening her grey-blue eyes, sleepily at me. She huff as she sat up on the sofa. Her face was half-covered by her hair as she looks down on the floor. Waiting for the fog of sleepiness to fade away.

“What time is it?” She asked.

“11:47 pm,”

She nodded her head before she tensed. She looks up at me as her eyes go wide in horror. Sometimes, I wanted to laugh as to how she assessed thing very slowly. She ran upstairs and within minutes came back with her phone, bag and car key?

“What are you doing? We’re going to be late!” She screeched as she descended the stairs in a hurry. I just hoped the robot didn’t hear the screech and mistaken me for being the reason for her screeching.

“Why did you bring a car key? I can take you with me,” I stated, confused.

“I wanted to get rid of the cheater’s car!” She said as she ushered me to the front door with me following behind her.

I watch, transfixed as she placed her fingers on the gate finger scan.

I huff in annoyance as I slide into my own car. Its midnight means there are just a few cars wandering around the city. So, I sped up to my mansion.

I came to a halt in front of my mansion at the same time, Valentina parked beside me. She’s quite the racer.

My thoughts fly away as quickly as it comes when I saw my best friends.

The guys are waiting outside with a rope, baseball bat and a ...knife? I gulped and shivered at the thought of coming back without her. Are they really going to beat me, their leader?

Vale came out from her car and ran towards them with arms spread wide. I rolled my eyes at her dramatic act. But, nonetheless, I can’t help the smile that tugged on my lips. The guys pulled her into a tight hug before she struggles to breathe. They reluctantly pulled away.

“I’m so sorry, guys,”

She said while wiping her invisible tears.

They chuckle at her before turning their attention towards me. Oh, crap!

But, they only grin at me. I furrow my eyebrows in confusion when they ignore me and walk inside the house along with Vale.

Curious, I followed soon after and there is no one in sight. I carefully walk on the floor watching every corner for something, anything, anyone to come out.

Until I heard a splash of water and my body shiver at the cold water being thrown at me. I close my eyes calming myself down before turning around and glare at them.

I thought they were inside?!

“What was that for?! “I yell at them.

They smile sheepishly at me. I look at Valentina who hold the pile. She mouthed something like ‘not my idea’ and batted her eyelashes at me.

She’s so going to get it from me.

I close my eyes as I put my hands on my hips. Breathing in and breathing out. After calming down a bit, I storm out to my bedroom, taking a shower before switching off my lights and fall into a deep slumber sleep.
