Chapter 6

A week later, the talk about the strange man that appeared on the screens and radio is still on everyone's lips. Security measures has been taken and soldiers can be seen roaming the bomb site and searching the state for any sign of insurgency.

People have been ordered to stay indoors until the curfew is over. The curfew is to last for another two weeks, provisions for every citizen needs is ensured by the Government, food and other supplies are supplied to every door in the state. The people are ordered to report any sign of a stranger or any suspicious gathering to the military with immediate effect.

Sightings of the men in hazard suits becomes rampant, they are seen spraying chemicals around the blocks, in peoples compound. And whenever they are confronted they simple reply " it's just fumigation as ordered by the Government!".

The more constant they were with their visitations and spraying the more uncomfortable the people became.

The following days, people are already complaining, some claim that the Government is using the lockdown scheme for their selfish needs. Some people decide to break the rules and step outside, the result was bad as such persons received serious beating from the soldiers and police. 

People began to frown at this actions as an act of human maltreatment, more people floods the streets in a protest and the lockdown is extended until further notice.

This didn't solve the problem at hand, violence is at is uprsise, properties are destroyed and some lifes lost as the police and soldiers are forced to take action and neutralize the threat of a mob. 

This didn't stop the angry citizens and the people starts attacking the police and soldiers in retailation, they used bottles, cuttless, broken glasses and some of them had guns on them, they use guerrilla attacks on the soldiers and police but at most times they fail and ends up being chased back to their homes with gun power and anti riot squuads. Finally the Government decides to raise the lockdown, peace is restored and the people goes back to their daily routines and daily lifes.

Then the strange man that appeared on TV is reported to have been captured and in the police custody for thorough investigation, the Government promise the people that there will be no such incident repeating itself again and that the strange man was not in the right state of mind as confirmed by medical expertise and that everything he said was false and shouldn't be taken serious by the people.

He and the king made provisions for the families and guardians of those that lost their lives during the riot. The families of the victims are compensated with gifts of different kinds, food stuffs, money and as well a befitting burial for their deceased.

Days later...

It is late in the night, police cars are parked in front of a four storey building, the police men are stationed around the house ready to storm in. A report came in that a woman went wild and killed her whole family, butchering all five of her own children and her husband, she didn't stop there, she went ahead and started killing the rest of the Tennants in her block, the person that called for the police said she used anything that can be used as a weapon to brutally kill her victims. Now the police are outside the building, gathering more info and planning the best way to stop the killer, through a megaphone the police men tells the people in the building to lock their doors and remain indoors until they stop the killer.

Two officers are assigned to go inside the building and neutralize the threat. The two cops steps into the building's corridor, the ceiling lights lit their way to the stairs to the first second floor. There they see trail of blood on the floor of the corridor which they follow, the doors are locked except one that is at the last on the right. The men approache the room carefully, guns pointed out, the blood trail leads to the room, light from the room floods the entrance. The men approach the room with more caution. 

The first officer crouch and points his gun to the room, but his hands suddenly comes down with horror in his facial expression as he walks into the room.

"My God.!"

The other officer quickly joins him and gives the same expression. Before them is a woman laying dead in a pool of her blood on the floor, with different objects pierced into her body. A fork in her right eye, a knife forced down her throat.

Four of her left fingers are missing, her stomach is sliced open with her guts exposed.

The second officer throws up uncontrollably. The first cop is about to speak into his walkie talkie when they hear a loud screeching noise from the corridor. The men turn quickly and rush to the corridor. They hear the nosie again, but it seems to be from the top floor. The officers ascends the stairs to where the nosie came from.

They get to the corridor of the third floor, the lights of the corridor are flickering, there they see a figure bent over something, they use their flash lights and it turns out it was a woman but her back is turned at them.

She raise her hands holding something over her head and sends them down In a striking force, she repeats it again.

"Drop the knife!" The first officer yells.

She stops, her hands mid air.

"I said drop the knife!"

"You heard the man woman, drop the knife and step away from the body!." The second officer adds. He notices she didnt reply nor react to what he said, he repeats himself again.

"Drop the knife and step away from the body, you have five seconds to do that.!"

The woman turns her face slowly, with a low growl. The officers stood there ready, their guns and flash lights pointing towards the killer. The first officer speaks into his walkie talkie on his shoulder.

"We have eyes on the suspect, I repeat, we have eyes on the suspect!."
