Chapter 5 Challenge accepted!

Elsie POV

I was in a deep sleep when my phone suddenly rang for few times. I tried to hide it under the pillow so I won’t hear the ringtone but still the noise make me can’t continue with my sleep peacefully. Come on, whoever on the phone at least be considerate that people need more sleep during weekend. I curse before answering it with my eyes still closed, not bother to know the name of the caller.

“Hmm,” I hummed lazily without any greeting.

“And good morning to you too.” A husky voice can be heard clearly over the line. I can’t recognize the voice and it doesn't sound familiar at all.

“Wrong number,” I chided without looking at the screen, lazy to entertain.

“Wait, don’t you dare to hang up.”  He threatens and I kind of felt pissed with his tone. I immediately looked at the screen tried to see who the caller was but it was a new number, which was not from my contact.

“And who are you dare to threaten me early in the morning?” I spat to the rude stranger. I sat on the bed. My eyes were wide opened now with anger boiled in me.

“Three days, remember?” He said straight to the point. My brows knitted.  Now I remember this guy.

“You, the arrogant guy,” I called him but he didn’t show any respond.   “I told you, I’m not going to consider about your offer. I’m not interested and it never crossed my mind for the past three days.” I said annoyingly, he just ignored my words.

“Very brave of you to reject my offer.” His voice was firm.

“Oh, you will never imagine how brave I am. Thank you for your compliment anyway. Now, if you allow me, please let me resume my sleep that has been disturbed by you.” Sarcasm runs well in my blood.

“Lazy ass,” he mocked which made me gritted my teeth. This guy was ridiculous. He spoiled my beauty sleep in the morning and called me ‘lazy ass’. I made the right decision not to accept his offer. I can’t imagine myself work under him and called him boss. No, that definitely won’t happen not even in my dream. I will never want to dream about him. It will be the worst nightmare if that happens for real.

“You know what, I feel bad for Andrea for having a rude, arrogant and self-centered dad. She deserves to have a better dad, not someone like you. Do you ever consider how she will feel if she know how you force someone to accept your offer?” I don’t care if my words hurt him.

“That’s not your business to interfere. She wouldn't know about this if you didn’t tell her.” I rolled my eyes even though I knew he can’t see me with this conversation.

“Okay, I will not interfere your business and I will not tell anything to Andrea but with one condition.” An eye for an eye.

“Condition? Nice, you are the first person that dares to negotiate with me.” He snickered.

“Really? Oh, I’m so proud of myself.” I said sarcastically. I’m not going to back off from him easily. “Listen to me clearly; the condition is stop calling me with your ridiculous offer. Let me repeat myself, I’m not going to accept your offer.” I enunciated each word clearly.

“No, you listen to me clearly, love. You can’t reject me. Once I decided what I want, no one can say no to me and you are included. I will make sure you come to me and say yes to my face. Mark my words.”

“Ha-ha. Very funny mister whatever you are. Let’s see how you are going to make me say yes!”

“Well, challenge accepted.” He cut off the line afterwards without giving me any chance to argue back. Arrogant and rude. Now, it convinced me more that this was the right decision ever for rejected his offer.

I slammed the phone on my bed and lazily pulled my blanket to cover myself. I snuggled and drift to sleep again.
