Chapter 4

Kyle:

I stared at my worried mate as her thoughts went wild wanting to leave making my heart ache for her.

My wolf whimpered and howled as he realized that our mate wasn't accepting the mating making my heart clench.

"Calm down love" I told her softly hoping that she would calm down, but it only seemed to fuel her more than she already was.

"Stop calling me love!" she snapped making my heart ache and my wolf whimper, Kiara looked at me as she felt the whimper of the wolf her eyes softening for a second before they returned to their hard state.

"You getting angry or fighting will literally do nothing" I said calmly.

"Let me go" she said angrily, my wolf whimpered louder at her angered voice, my heart felt like it was on fire as I saw her attitude toward me.

"No" I said keeping myself calm and contained, I didn't want to risk saying anything that would make things worse than they already were.

"Why not?" She snapped.

"Because I said so!" I snapped back making her frown "stop the carriage" I ordered as we reached the place I wanted, and Kiara's eyes widened when she saw they we were back in the campsite where her and the other homeless kids stayed.

"Get down" I told her and her eyes went wide in confusion as I opened the door for her, she walked out hesitantly before I followed her, I could hear her heart race as she looked at her friends who were waiting for her.

"What are you doing here?" Coblet snapped at me, his eyes avoided Kiara in fear of her reaction of what she was about to hear.

"I came to bring what's yours" I said calmly putting the bag of gold I had prepared for him on the table in front of him, he looked at me wide eyed as Kiara looked at him, surprise written all over her body language.

"You finished your part of the deal and brought my mate to me, this is your pay, it should be enough for you and your friends for a while" I said looking at Coblet then around the campsite at the street kids who were staring at me, all of them not looking at the girl they once considered their sister.

"What?" Kiara asked the confusion and pain were visible in her voice making me close my eyes as my wolf howled in pain feeling her pain, Coblet's eyes met Kiara's before he turned his gaze to me.

"You can take her and leave" I could tell that his words cut through her like a dagger, they would have to anyone.

"Why?" She asked her voice broke as she was about to cry and believe me when I say I wanted nothing more than to hold and hug her at that very moment, but I knew for fact that she'd hate and resent me.

"You were never meant to stay Kiara, it is time for you to build your life with your mate" Coblet said and I could hear Kiara's heavy breathing as she looked at him, her head fell as she looked at the floor.

"So, you lied to me? All this time talking about me being family, you've been lying to me?" She asked not lifting her gaze from the ground.

"No, you are family, but your time with us is done" Coblet said softly.

She looked up at Coblet, her eyes meeting his before she turned to face me, her eyes bloodshot as tears fell from them, she looked around once before walking to the carriage without looking back.

I looked at Coblet and nodded, he and his friends bowed at me before looking away as I nodded at my guards to go to the palace.

The ride was quiet for a while as Kiara kept her gaze on the road, tears kept falling from her eyes which she would wipe quickly not wanting me to see them not knowing that I was already breaking inside at just the sight of her looking this hurt.

"Where are we going?" Kiara asked her eyes were still on the window as she avoided my eyes.

"The palace" I told her, and she nodded.

"Hey, look at me" I told her softly, but she wouldn't.

"Kiara"

"What?"

"I understand your anger"

"You just bought me!" She snapped.

"I didn't buy you; you were born to be mine" I snapped back.

"You paid them to literally trick and sell me to you!"

"You wouldn't have come with me otherwise! Don't you think that I considered every possible way before resulting to this one?" I raised my voice making her flinch, my wolf howled and whimpered at the fact that we've been fighting for a while now.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to hurt you" I said softly, I slowly reached out to touch her hand only for her to pull it away and glare at me.

"Don't touch me" she snapped, and I took a deep breath, the pain in my chest was becoming too much to take.

"You'll eventually have to accept the mating love, don't make this harder than it has to be" still keeping myself controlled, breathe in and out Kyle.

"Would you just screw yourself?" Kiara glared at me "this love, being sweet I'm not falling for it! Any of it" she snapped.

Keeping my breathing controlled and focusing on it feeling my rising anger and fearing hurting my mate as she kept crossing every possible limit there was.

"Do you really not feel the mating pull?" I asked her and she frowned in confusion, I slowly reached for her hand and touched it making sparks erupt within me, I could tell that Kiara felt it as her expression softened and her gaze met mine.

"Prince Kyle" one of the guards called as he opened the carriage door, his eyes looking away from us as he bowed down in respect to me, I didn't even notice that we stopped.

"Yes?" I said turning my gaze to him only to realize that we were in the palace's entrance.

"We've arrived"
