Chapter 5

" Uh I what I meant to say is, we met yesterday. " He quickly says.

" Oh?" Colton says.

" Yeah, I wasn't feeling quite well so he helped me out." I add, feeling quite relieved.

" Well are you okay now?" Colton asks concerned.

" Yes, yes I am." Remembering that Mk is behind me, I semi turn to her." Oh Reece meet my friend Mikayla, but we call her Mk." I say, pulling her to my side and into view.

" Hi." Reece says, holding out his hand to her.

Looking at her, I see a hint of pink on her cheeks as she takes his hand.

Ooh Lucia is going to love this.

" Hey." She quickly let's go of his hand before turning to me. Before she can say something, the bell rings.

" We should be getting going" she says, looking at me.

" Yeah " I turn to the guys." Bye guys." I say , grabbing Mk's  arm and dragging her along.

" What was that?" Mk asks, pinching my arm.

" Ow...what was what?" I ask, rubbing at the spot.

" You know, back there, Colton wants to meet you" 

" I don't know, " I shrug my shoulders, stopping in my tracks to look at her.

" Hmm, well you'll find out sooner." She says in a sing song manner, a grin appearing on her face as she walks off.

Instead of following after her, I turn back around and surprisingly I notice Colton and Reece , still standing in the same spot. While still conversing , like he can feel me looking at him, Colton turns to my direction and once he sees me, he smiles.

I open my mouth to say something but no words come out." I will find you!" He calls out, earning us a few eyes.

How did he know what I was about to ask?

I close my mouth as a blush warms my cheeks, I turn around, rushing off, eyes widening a bit and a smile threatening to come out.

"So let me get this straight, Colton Davies wants to meet you?" 

I nod, continuing with coping the notes written on the board." Oh my gosh, what does he want?" Lucia asks excitedly.

" If we knew, wouldn't you know by now? " Mk speaks up, eyes on her books , a smirk appearing on her face.

I pinch MK discreetly, and she shrieks in surprise, earning us attention in class.

" Quiet down." The teacher says, getting back to writing notes on the board.

Mk shoots me a glare and I smile sheepishly at her, before turning to Lucia, who is sitting in front of us. While Mk and I are desk mates.

" He's so going to ask you out." Lucia states confidently.

I stop writing and really look at her, frowning." What?" 

" It's so obvious." 

" No I - " 

" And I thought Reece Cullen was first in line- " 

" What?" Both Lucia and I whisper yell at her. 

All Mk does is shrug her shoulders, pretending to be focused on her work but I'm pretty sure that she can feel my glare.

" Anyway....we've only got a few minutes until you meet him, did he tell you where you should meet ?" 

" Nope, he said that he'll find me before I could say anything" 

" Oooh that's so romantic" Lucia gushes, placing her palms against her cheeks.

I snicker at her. I swear that her eyes are filled with imaginary hearts right now. Gosh she is such a romantic.

The bell rings, taking us right into break, after four slow lessons that I'm glad are all over. 

" Okay class you have been dismissed, have a good rest of the day." The teacher says, slumping in his seat and taking off his glasses.

He didn't even have to finish before most of the students were out of the class. I swear, it's like they are rushing off to a clothing sale or something. It's weird. 

Packing our things and following after people moving out of class, Lucia decides to stand in front of us, totally blocking our way.

" Okay...you better tell us everything, don't leave anything out...you hear me" she warns, pointing a finger at me.

Taken a back, I nod frantically.

" Okay good...now go and look pretty." My jaw drops, watching her walk away, dragging Mk with her.

Shaking my head in amusement, I walk off. Lucia can be so dramatic I swear.

Reaching my locker and placing my books in there, once I close it and turn around, I squeak in surprise when I come face to face with someone's chest. Trailing my eyes up, I see that it's Reece standing here.

" Oh gosh you scared me." I breathe out, my hand against my chest.

"Sorry." He says.

" That's okay, I wasn't really paying attention." I trail off, averting my eyes away from him, looking around and searching for any sign of Colton.

" Looking for someone?" 

" Yes I - wait, how do you know Colton?" I finally ask.

I've been meaning to ask him this .

"We used to be close friends, while I was here. 2 years ago" He trails off from that part.

" Before everything else, got it." I add and he nods.

Awkward silence forms between us , where I droop my eyes to the floor.

"You know, I never forgot about you." My head picks up at that.

My heart slams against my chest. Looking into his eyes, I see that there's emotion swarming in them.

" Skylar - " he starts, stepping forward but stops.

" I told you I would find you." A voice says beside us.

My heart starts beating hard again and breath releases at the sound of Colton's voice. Looking away from Reece and turning to face Colton, a small smile makes its way onto my face when I see him smirking at me.

" You did." I breathe out.

" Am I interrupting something?" He asks , his eyes moving between Reece and I.

" No." We both say.

" I should go." Reece suddenly says, walking off without another word.

" Cool...well shall we?" Colton holds up his arm for me to take.

" Sure" I say, smiling at him and taking his arm.

Colton averts his eyes to Reece's retreating back.

" Are you sure everything is okay?"

All I can do is nod, and let Colton take me away. Not even certain of how I feel now.
