Chapter 13

Louis{POV} 

      When we landed, Amelia was still inside the room. I had to leave her with my secretary since I had an important meetings that needed my intervention this morning.The meeting was between the advertisement department and adminstrative sector. This meeting had threaded on for a while since my absence. 

  Currently it was affected the pace at which major project are been handled making it bad for my company. Their departments heads  should get ready  for some serious question cause I need answers. 

One thing I hate the most, is when employee becomes reluctant and lack the zeal to put their effort in any given task or important project. 

Their delay had cause me  millions. 

Its time I do some reshuffling. 

Before this I  still have  to attend an intensive meeting with the board of directors consigning the new infringement of ideas that could enhance the multi-communication policy. 

   " Good Morning sir", My second secretary and personal assistant David greeted me as he opens the car door.  I nodded at him stepping out from my car while  he followed me behind. 

   At the notice of my presence  everyone became alerted and behaved accordingly, this was something I was already accustomed to. Everyone greeted as I walked pass like always  keeping a stern look. I entered my private elevator that lead me straight to my office. David detailed down all the events and meeting that would take place today. 

  "The last would be the state Seminar for the promotion of the communication sector in the state." 

he said trying to catch his breath as he tailed along. 

David was young just a trainee but I love his professional drive, always fast in keeping up with tasks and updates. 

" That seminar would start by 4pm... Right, " I asked  promptly as I entered my office. 

"Yes sir, "

"I don't feel the need to attend, scrap it out", 

I sat down in my chair. 

David took in a lot of air as if he was gathering all his energy trying to be cautious not to say anything to provoke my mood.  

" Sir... The seminar has you as its keynote speaker, I have even process your speech, if you don't attend, it would seems as if you don't value and respect the community," he pointed out in hesitates. 

Barely holding back a groan as annoying as it may sound that was a true fact. 

I sighed  with a nod that signaled my approval.  

" Go make preparation for the meeting, " I ordered.

     Pop message on my iPhone from Dorothy notified me of their arrival at my mansion. I had informed her to keep me posted, I want to know every detail and how they spent their day especially Amelia. She needs to be prepared before she meets my family. Also learn how to deal with them properly cause every family gathering is like a battlefield, everyone would be ready with their best soldiers.

     P" Hey! hey! hey! ", Sebastian yelled as he entered my office along with Oscar. I could read curiosity and disappointment on their faces since I left for New York, I haven't given them update about my sudden departure. I had kept them in the dark about my dealings. 

     "Hey, guys".  

I moved them to my private chamber. 

" My apologize, everything happened suddenly that I even lost track of what really happened, "

 I apologized while pass them a bottle of whiskey. 

    "You won't believe what had happened within a week since I left for New York ", I lean back in a relaxing position on the single couch as I mapped out the highlight from finding out about Penelope covered up case, how the sperm exchange was a blessings in disguise. 

"So you mean, Penelope was never pregnant, " Oscar asked trying to keep up with the story. 

"No she never was, and even if she was the child won't have been mine, " I waved my hands with a little force up in the air. 

"Holy cow!, " he hit his hand on my table. 

I told them about Amelia, my plan to marry her since we both want the baby. 

Now they were both looking stunned trying to comprehend  the information properly. 

"Man, that's a whole lot to take in, " Sebastian exclaimed gulping down his drink in one swallow. While Oscar give me his famous I told you so look. 

I left the part that Amelia was not yet in fully support of the whole situation so I had to drag her  down back to Spain. 

If my friends discover that Amelia was not as willing as I just painted her to be, I would surely be their new source of amusement. 

"Is she beautiful," Sebastian asked with sudden interest 

" Yes.... Very beautiful, strong-headed and very difficult to handle, " 

I answered with a bit of tenacity in my lips wondering  what she was doing now, probably giving Dorothy a whole lot of trouble I presumed. I could imagine her body flaming up, her cheeks flushing out during an argument.

    Oscar and Sebastian looked marveled at my description. 

" Strong-headed..., difficult to handle isn't that a new word in your vocabulary, Louis," Oscar asked with a surprised tone. 

" You've never describe any  woman like that or find some difficult to deal with." 

he pointed out 

If I had my way, I would have chosen someone that I could control, silence, someone more obedient and orderly  but Amelia was different, sharp, bright, attractive, her confident makes her very bold not ready to back down for anyone. 

  "That means she's interesting, right?.  " Sebastian asked

I frown as I noticed the thrill in his voice which means he was up to no good. Now he just want to rush to my house and flirt his way around Amelia that I won't accept. 

"Louis!, "

Oscar called out as he noticed the daring glare I fired at Sebastian. 

  "She's quiet busy at the moment, when she's settles down you can meet her",

I said ignoring his question. 

Oscar smirked at my outbursts. 

    " This is a first!, " he said raising up from his seat, pat me on the shoulder. 

"Look man, I will see you later at the lounge, you better call me, I don't care how busy you are,"

      " Sure, " 

We hugged each other before he left.

Sebastian was still seated with a crazy smirk on his face still trying to pry out more information about Amelia. 

"What do you want exactly?", I asked tired of been plastered by him. 

" Her number, " he said curving his mouth into a smile. If it was before I would gladly give him the number but this time, its different she's going to be my wife and mother to my son. 

"No!, " I said

I remembered how I throw her phone away after I took every communication device she owned 

" seriously!, it just a number, "

      The seminar was quiet an eventful occasion but I didn't stay till the end.

"Louis!!, " 

Someone called me from behind as I stepped out of the Grand hall. I turned to find Kina Schadler  smiling  at me dressed in a sexy lemon green suit that complemented her skin. 

    "Kina," I replied wondering what she was doing in Spain also at this event. The last time we meet each other was at my engagement party  with cousin Nora.Where we had a civil conversation despite our past relationship. 

    She walked towards me with her date from the event. 

"Louis, so glad to see you," she said as she kissed my cheeks. Her date give me a lazy smile as he moved away giving us time to catch up. 

" Thanks Simon,"  she drawled. 

"He's a friend of mine, " she explained as her stare lingered. I find no need for her explanation, I just nodded. 

"So what's brings you to Spain?, "

I asked her as we moved along the outer pillar of the building. 

"Work basically,"she said. 

I raised an eyebrow at her answer. It wasn't a surprise we met at this place. She was definitely working for her uncle. With the right media our meeting would be a top new for  the paparazzi. Nora hardly keeps a straight face when she lies nor could she hold a stare. I knew she was lying as she kept glancing back to avoid my stares. 

    "How about I treat you tonight for dinner as old acquaintances, " I offered. 

Her protruding eyes twinkled in delight at my offer but she quickly declined. 

"Thanks but no thanks, I wonder what people would say once they see us together, besides you were my late cousins fiance, "

"let them say whatever they want, its none of my consign, " I declared. 

"Unless,  you can't handle them, like before, " I said in a way of reminding her about our daring  escapade back during our college days. She broke out into a loud laughter and strikes me lightly on the shoulder flirtatiously. 

   "Louis, you still haven't changed,  blunt like always."

I watched her for some moment noticed some difference but I couldn't place a pin at it I find her behavior quite odd. She had become more beautiful quite alright even her laughter has become more enticing than before. It suddenly reminded me of Amelia who wouldn't laugh or pretend to be happy if she wasn't satisfied with her situation. I remember when I trashed her phone, her angry glare was not one to reckon with. Even I felt ripped apart in shreds. Kina was forced to be here, why would she agree to play along or had her uncle damaged her beyond repair. The Kina I knew was strong minded, now she doesn't look happy but fake just like most women I came across. Once they discover who I was, my crown becomes their target. Sadly Kina and I connected back then in college than any woman I meet even her cousin Nora hardly knew me. 

"See you around, " she kissed me on the cheek as her date returned to fetch her. I notic ed a scorpion tattoo on his neck. It was a bit incongruous and odd.
