Chapter 10:

Louis [POV] 

      The thought of my new feisty fiancee  lingered in my mind. She was indeed very beautiful,even  my men were dazed by her beauty. She has the kind of beauty that could make any man lose his goddemn mind. 

    She remain adamant, I had to instruct my men to watch over her, I don't want her running away with my heir. I could hear the sound of  her voice in my head  I have to be careful, I need to stay away from her before I  get addicted. 

     After destroying the contract I had with Penelope, she still kept on bugging me with her test messages. I guess she feels disappointed not to have been the one enjoying this privilege of becoming my wife. She needs to learn she was of no use to me anymore. 

I had my lawyer's  compensate her for her time, that's enough to keep her mouth shut for the awhile. 

       In another continent,  far from home I wonder what my father had been cooking up since our last meeting especially my step mother. 

I need to get my hands on Nora's murderer before someone else does. Her killer is still out in the open, no matter how much I hate her for lying to me, she was my responsibility. The frustrating part is that I have no idea if her killer was linked to me or her father, that man has secret that could destroy his family, he had entrusted Nora to me and I failed. 

I still need to update him about her pregnancy, I need to know who she had dated before me. 

      I pulled out of my limo, entered the hotel I would be staying in for the time being before I and Amelia would leave for Spain. The doormen opens the door bowing their heads . The hotel manager had been notified before my arrival. 

My Luxurious suit was set just the way, I like it. 

    I wasted so much energy arguing with Amelia, I lost track of time. I wonder why she seem so mad at me. Have we met before, truly she looks so familiar but I can't place a finger at where we met. Could she be an angry ex lover I had abandoned 

Noo...... I settle them briefly 

Or did I abandon her after a one night stand. That's crazy cause the last time I had a one night stand,  it was during my days in college. 

      I wonder what grudge she has on me , I still have time to find out. I can't deny the fact that she was quite attractive . 

I wonder how she would be feeling  now after reading the contract. I bet she would be thank her lucky stars for such opportunity. 

     Sophisticated woman like her are mostly intrigued by Wealth and power. In no short period of time she will fall in place with my rules. Every woman I had a brief relationship with played according to my rule, once I tell them what to do, they obey. Now she feels different about her current situation  but money could change people, power intoxicates them . 

     I had read through her files, learnt about her parents who were well-known professors of history studies quite a charming couple, they both died together during their retreat trip and left her an orphan. 

It might have been hard on her having to lose both parents at once. 

Her parents had made proper  provision for her so she went to a boarding school. They weren't poor and left a sustainable amount for her to complete her studies throughout her  university days  She finished with a second class upper degree, in her first job hunt she was lucky to be retained where she had worked as an intern in one of the biggest bank in New York in accounting. 

    It still baffles why she give up an outstanding opportunity just to be a mum to her child she plan on having without support of a male companion. 

Hmm! 

I contemplate. 

Why would a lady with so much going on in the early stage of her bright career give it up for a baby with no support from it father. 

      Glad I won't be dealing with any boyfriend drama. 

The Fertility clinic played with both our lives . I should have sued them by now, if not for the fact that our situation must be  kept in total secrecy to prevent the media from spreading the news and  destroy my element of surprise. I lost two months already. The plan needs to be hastened up.

      The following days, I used it to reconstruct my plans over again. I made deep inquires about my miscalculated steps  and came up with a better way to deal with them. I haven't informed my friends about what was going on. 

I know they might be worried but the more confidential it stays, the better. I know I can trust them but I can't trust the people around them especially Sebastian, he could be a big mouth when drunk. 

        I had an important meeting with Nora's father, Lord Elliott. I need to inform him about what I found out concerning his daughter's murderer. 

       Lord Elliott is my father's closest Allie,I needed his alliance that's why I had been playing by his rules to gain his trust.

That man has so much secret and so hard to win over. 

Before Nora's death, he had issues with someone he had adamantly refused to inform me about before putting Nora in my care her death had scattered so many plan I had work hard for. 

Marrying Nora was purely her father's aim to strengthen his  influence and gain control of state politics, my initial plan was to turn the table around. 

He had evaded me since she died, now is the time to face him and sought out our differences. 

    He didn't reply to my invitation for a long time and refused to give me an answer, I wonder what had made him change his mind. He must have something planned out. 

As the heir apparent to the throne, I have to do everything possible to make stronger allies unless my stepmother gain more hands. 

    She could be so persuasive even with my mother's clan strongly behind me. I still have a lot of royal clan I need by my side. The last time I undermine my enemy they struck harder. The forces are getting stronger, my step mother is really building her webs and converting them to her side. 

I know she might have already tried getting  Lord Elliott  to her side since his only daughter died under my watch or he might  be playing us both. Lord Elliot is cunning man. 

     I entered the meeting lounge he was already waiting for me. 

"Lord Elliott, you arrived right on time" I said taking my seat on the grand chair next to him. 

" I'm glad, you accepted my invitation " I started. 

" I  decided to put our past behind us beside I take you as a son. " he smiled 

That was odd, something is definitely up, the last time we meet at Nora's funeral, he nearly bounced on me. 

Today he looked calm and calculative . 

" You should thank my niece for making it possible " he revealed. 

" Kina" 

I said,

a bit surprised, I should have seen this coming. I and Kina dated back then when we were  in college. After some time, she became boring, always trying to make me break and fall for her. So I ended things between us. 

The last time we meet was at my engagement ceremony with her cousin Nora. She had added some hips and boobs and looks sexier but we had a mutual understanding our relationship had ended long ago. 

   So now Nora was gone the next alternative was Kina. Kina is an orphan and grow under her uncle's watch,she was now going to be his new puppet.

I remembered back then when we dated she complained a lot about her cousins treating her an outcast. How they don't like her,  we clicked since we suffered from the similar situation.

     Growing up, Kina and Nora were never close even when we were engaged she got irritated anytime Kina was mentioned.  The old man thought I was Ignorant and can't see through the political game he was playing. 

" Kina, its been a while since I last  saw her" I said with fake interest in my voice. 

" Good... Good,  let's put the past behind us"

he suggested.

    The preparation to leave for Spain was ready. I wanted us to leave very early that morning, Lord Elliott sudden arrival in New York with Kina had me troubled.  The longer we stayed, he might try to key in to my plans and finding out about Amelia and the baby. 

    Amelia arrived with her luggage looking sleepy and tired. I tried to deny myself about how anxious I was to see Amelia again, her boldness brings me a whole different feeling. The more she ignore me the more intrigue I get. I can't wait to take her back to my territory where I can control and restrict her movement. I want to feel her rage when I tell her that, the more feisty she becomes, the more attractive I find her. 

      Its been week since our last encounter, i know i had frightened her. I noticed she had added a little, yet sexy wearing a green knee length   high band skirt that matches her milk colored V neck top, it revealed a bit of her middle breast line even if it was well covered when she caught me staring, she plastered her hand on waist like a furious mother who was about to scold her child. She left me and entered my private jet. When I finally joined her, she was looking marveled at my Luxurious jet. I designed it myself, it was my little mansion in the sky.
