Chapter 9 Envious Of Young Master Zand

The man who appeared was well-dressed and looked to be in his thirties.

Tyler recognized him with one glance. He met this man yesterday.

It was none other than the owner of the gold shop.

“Sir, do you still remember me?” The gold shop owner looked at Tyler with a polite smile.

“Of course, but what are you doing here?” Tyler was puzzled.

“This is my restaurant.” the gold shop owner smiled before he continued, “Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Kent Logan. My friends call me Kenny.”

Kent Logan?

Tyler knew this name very well.

There were several underground forces in Northbrook City. The most influential and strongest power belonged to Kent Logan aka Kenny.

Ramona’s jaw dropped when she heard his introduction.

Although she’s a woman, she had been living in Northbrook City her whole life. How could she not have heard of the infamous Kent Logan?

“Nice to meet you, Mr. Logan,” Tyler looked at Kent and greeted him.

“No, no, just call me Kenny. May I ask for your name?” Kent humbly asked Tyler.

“My last name is Zand.”

Kent’s jaw dropped and was speechless for a long time.

Sure enough, this person was a member of the Zand family!

He turned around and glaring at that bespectacled man and really wanted to break that fool’s limbs!

What a blind moron. He was going to befriend Mr. Zand and that idiot was going to beat him up. Was he trying to ruin his plans?

“Glasses, get over here!” Kent beckoned at the bespectacled man.

The bespectacled man was already in a daze from the beating and was truly afraid of Kent from the bottom of his heart.

“Boss…”

Pah, pah, pah, pah!

With four slaps back and forth, the bespectacled man’s face swelled up.

“Is this how you treat our guests?” Kent bellowed.

“But Boss, he’s not here as a guest.”

The bespectacled man glanced at Tyler. He simply could not understand why the boss got so angry over a pathetic loser like this.

“Kneel down!” Kent became more furious and shouted at the bespectacled man.

Ka-thunk.

The bespectacled man knelt in front of Kent without any hesitation, as if he was conditioned to do so.

“Kneel in front of Mr. Zand!” Kent kicked the bespectacled man over.

The bespectacled man was almost reduced to tears as he knelt in front of Tyler with a bitter expression.

“Mr. Zand, I’m blind and ignorant. Please have mercy on me this time…” pleaded the bespectacled man pitifully.

He knew that he had offended Tyler as he had bullied Tyler in order to please Young Master Kingsley.

However, Tyler was not someone who would take things to the extreme. He did not wish to make things any more difficult since the bespectacled man was already in such predicaments.

Tyler was puzzled as he gazed at Kent.

Kent had sent someone to give him a diamond necklace yesterday and was being so protective of him today. What was he trying to achieve?

He could only find that out from Kent some other time.

Now, Tyler just wanted to teach Philip a good lesson. Although he had kicked him just now, it was not enough to appease his frustrations.

“Where’s Young Master Kingsley?” Tyler looked around but saw no sign of Philip.

“He ran away during the commotion just now,” a security guard cautiously replied.

That coward!

Tyler was speechless for a moment.

Nevertheless, it was pretty obvious that arrogant Philip was quite afraid of Kent and had slipped away as soon as he saw Kent.

“Mr. Zand, just say the word if you need my help,” said Kent to Tyler with a smile.

“That won’t be necessary,” Tyler replied mildly to Kent before looking at Ramona. “Let’s go home.

“Ah… Okay…” Ramona had not recovered from her shock yet. She simply nodded and followed Tyler out of the restaurant.

After getting into their car, Ramona furtively glanced at Tyler with her emotions still highly unsettled.

Was this the same useless husband she knew?

Even the infamous Kent Logan was completely polite in front of him. That really made her wonder.

Recalling the events at Universal International and Percy Milton’s attitude towards Tyler, Ramona felt that it was not a coincidence when she put these two matters together.

Was there something extraordinary about Tyler Zand?

“What are you thinking about?” Tyler asked Ramona while driving.

“Nothing. Tyler, shouldn’t you ask me what I was doing with Philip?” Ramona looked at Tyler.

“I believe you have your reasons for doing that,” Tyler replied calmly as he stared straight ahead.

Ramona felt a surge of warmth. No matter what, it was rare for a man to treat her with such tolerance and kind understanding.

There was no accusation or questioning, just unconditional trust.

She was touched.

“Mom told me that Philip had approached my boss and helped me out. He also gave her a more than 80,000 bucks diamond necklace, so she insisted I accompany him for dinner as thanks,” Ramona sighed lightly. She felt that she should explain it to Tyler.

Tyler could not help his rage when he heard that.

Philip Kingsley was such a shameless person who grabbed other people’s credit. How could there be such a brazen person in this world!

“Do you really believe Philip did all that?” Tyler asked Ramona.

Ramona was taken aback. “Who else could it be if not him?”

“Me,” Tyler replied solemnly.

“Sigh…” Ramona sighed again and turned her face to stare out the window.

The slight affection and curiosity that she had developed towards Tyler just now were obliterated by his words.

“It’s really me. Both Mom and yourself had a misconception and made a mistake,” explained Tyler to Ramona.

“I don’t blame you for your poor background. I can also accept it if you don’t earn a single cent, but can you please stop treating me like a fool?” Ramona was obviously angry.

What the f*ck.

Tyler stopped talking.

He did not blame Ramona. Who allowed him to be labeled as a poor man all these years?

Who would believe trash like him could influence Lily Evans and even afford a diamond necklace worth 86,000?

He could not keep a lid on it forever as the truth would come to light someday, hence Tyler chose to let nature run its course.

Early the next morning, Tyler had returned home from sending Ramona to her office.

When it was almost noon and Tyler was just about to prepare lunch in the kitchen, Susan, who was out the whole morning returned home.

“Hey, go to the company and pick Ramona up!” Susan went into the kitchen and said to Tyler excitedly.

“Mom, Mona’s still working.”

“Do you think I don’t know Mona’s still working? Just go when I ask you, why are you talking so much nonsense.” Although Susan was reprimanding Tyler, she was in a very good mood and could not hide her excitement.

Tyler did not say another word, took off his apron, and went out.

After picking Ramona up from her office and returning home, Tyler noticed Susan was so ecstatic that she could hardly stay still.

“Mom, what’s the matter?” Ramona asked Susan curiously.

“Mona, haven’t you heard about it? A water park will be built in the western suburbs, right opposite the Fairview Villa. An investment worth one billion!”

“Really?” Ramona was stunned at the news.

However, she immediately felt both happy and sad.

She was happy that such a large water park investment would surely elevate the prosperity of the western suburbs and the abandoned Fairview Villa might come back to life because of it!

That was her father’s life work and his only wish was to see Fairview Villa being built to fruition.

She was sad that her father had not lived to see such a day…

“Of course it’s true! Mona, let me tell you. The entire Northbrook City is now in an uproar! I heard that investment was made by the Zand family’s young master! Universal International belongs to the Zand family too. Young Master Zand has assigned Percy Milton to build this large water park as soon as possible…”

Susan grew more and more excited while saying enviously, “That Young Master Zand is really our lucky star. Aye, it would be great to have such a son-in-law.”

“Mom, this is fantastic. Dad’s Fairview Villa project will finally be realized. If he can see this in heaven, he’d be so relieved.” Tears welled up in Ramona’s eyes and her nose had become stuffy.

“Yeah, we should really thank Young Master Zand. He’s the real deal! I wonder what he looks like…” Susan expectantly speculated.

Tyler calmly sat on the side and listened to their exchange.

How could he not? He just told Percy to do everything yesterday.

“What are you looking at? Shouldn’t you be cooking by now? Make two more dishes for lunch. We want to celebrate.” Susan rolled her eyes at Tyler.

“Oh,” Tyler hummed his assent and went into the kitchen as he was used to such treatment.

“Mom, stop being so fierce to Tyler. He has worked hard all these years for us. We must give him some credit for it,” said Ramona.

“Forget it! That man can only spin around the kitchen without earning a single penny! Hmph, just look at Young Master Zand. A billion investment just like that. What vigor and generosity! Then, look at Tyler. Both their last names are Zand, but why is there such a vast difference between them!”

Susan became angrier the more she spoke and glared fiercely toward the kitchen.

“Okay, Mom. It’s a happy occasion. Let’s not talk about such things anymore.”

“Fine. Don’t we have to think of a way to continue the Fairview Villa project? When the western suburbs are developed, those real estate prices will definitely skyrocket. We can then make a fortune!” Susan said excitedly.

“But Dad’s gone. Where are we going to find the funds to continue the project…” Ramona sighed and frowned.

Susan smiled and said, “Silly girl, have you forgotten about Young Master Kingsley? There are plenty of financial resources there…”

“Mom, don’t you know what Philip’s intentions are? Are you using your daughter to make a deal with him!” Ramona stood up and said angrily.

“Haha, I do of course. If you agree to his proposal, you’ll find yourself a good in-law and guarantee our funds. Isn’t that the best of both worlds?” Susan laughed.

“Susan Zimmer, you really have everything well planned out.”

At this time, Tyler removed his apron and came out of the kitchen.
