Chapter 13 I’ll Forgive You This Time

“We’ll see.” Tyler sat back and was as calm as a millpond.

The sight of this pissed Tiffany even more.

It seemed merely a fairy tale to her that an adopted ‘loser-in-law’ like Tyler could demand the restaurant for something like that.

“So, what happens if they don’t refund us?” Graham teased.

Tyler calmly replied, “I’ll do as you’ve said, crawl and roll out of here.”

“Hmph! It mustn’t be so easy. You shall kneel before Graham and slap yourself ten times as you recite that you’re a loser.” Tiffany glared at Tyler.

What the flying f*ck? Only a woman like her could think of such.

Tyler could not understand, what had he done to have offended her to the extent of penalizing him the moment they met?

On the other hand, Graham was happy with that arrangement.

Tiffany could not wait to watch the show.

“Sure, remember what you just said,” Tyler agreed.

“There’s no need for this. We’re a family.” Jeremy frowned as he disapproved of what was going on.

“Old man, don’t you intervene in this. Let’s see if Ramona’s good-for-nothing husband can actually live up to his words,” said Suzette with her arms crossed.

Susan and Ramona had their noses out of joint as that was a losing bet and a very embarrassing one. Tyler must have lost his mind!

Ramona just wanted to take Tyler home when at that precise moment, the waitress returned with a young woman smartly dressed in professional office attire. She was none other than Naomi Tanner, the Finance Department’s person-in-charge who had met Tyler when he initially purchased the restaurant.

Naomi was confused when she was being requested to refund a customer. Why would anyone ask for such? Of course, that was until she saw Tyler.

“Bo—” Naomi almost blurted the word ‘boss’ but stopped as Tyler signaled her not to.

“Please refund the money to this good sir here.” Tyler directed her to Graham.

“Yes, sir. Right away!” Naomi took his instructions and immediately went off to execute it.

Everyone was stunned.

Susan and Ramona exchanged looks. It was unbelievable.

How could Naomi be so obedient toward Tyler?

Jeremy and Suzette were stunned as they were expecting a good show from the bet to happen.

Tiffany looked at Tyler and practically swallowed all those insults which she planned to blast at him. Oh, how terrible it felt.

“This is impossible...” Graham panicked.

If Naomi had actually refunded him the money, he would have to actually crawl and roll out of the restaurant. That would be the joke of the century! He would have to live in hiding for his entire life!

Tyler only smiled.

This was when Naomi returned with the money in her hands.

“Here is 138 thousand, sir.” Naomi returned the money to Graham as she spoke in a neutral tone.

Looking at that large amount of cash, Graham was enraged and felt insulted at the same time. Those were the cold hard cash which he had just painfully spent a moment ago.

Naomi retracted and reminded just as he was about to accept the cash, “Please fulfill your words to crawl and roll out of here before accepting the money.”

“Motherf*cker, who do yo—” Graham growled at Naomi.

“Those were your words, sir. Are you a man of your words?” Naomi teased.

Graham’s face reddened. “As a matter of fact, I’m not a man of my words today! What can you do about it?”

“Haha. There’s nothing I can do, but I won’t return you the money.” Naomi laughed.

Graham was left speechless. He was in a dilemma on whether to do it or not.

It would be truly embarrassing to roll out of the restaurant. However, my money...

That amount of money was not just a lot of money, it was also his entire life savings.

“Who are you to Tyler?! Why are you so being obedient to his words?!” Tiffany questioned.

Naomi was caught by surprise. “That’s because...Mr. Zand is good looking! I like him. Is there a problem?”

Tiffany rolled her eyes before grabbing Graham. “Let’s go!”

“Tiffy, the money…” Graham was conflicted as he looked at the money in Naomi’s hands. He just could not let it go.

Tiffany was enraged and she barked, “You’re so willing to roll out of here for the money?”

“Tiffy, that’s a hundred thousand…”

“Very well, ROLL!” Tiffany stomped.

Of course, Graham did not plan to roll. Otherwise, he would need to be living in hiding if he ever did so. He could only stare at Tyler in silence.

He never expected Tyler would have so much influence in Faircreek Seafood Restaurant. That made him depressed.

“So, what about the promise?” Tyler smirked.

“Don’t you dare, Tyler. Don’t you dare…” Graham glared.

“That’s right. We’re just kidding, Tyler. Can’t you take a joke?” Tiffany tried to chicken out of this.

“Joke, eh? If I’ve lost this bet, would you’ve said it was just a joke? Look, I’ll forgive you this time for Ramona’s sake. Don’t you try to be an *sshole in front of me next time and mind you, a hundred thousand bucks means nothing to me. This meal is on me.” Tyler pointed at Graham’s nose and warned before turning around and left.

“Naomi, please return them the money,” he instructed without turning his head back.

“Yes, sir,” Naomi answered and handed the money to Graham.

Everyone looked in awe at Tyler’s departure without saying a single word.

They stared for a good minute before Tiffany asked, “Ramona, is that your husband? He is so...domineering.”

Ramona could not answer as she was still in awe. She had not seen this coming.

Not only did Tyler not embarrass her in front of everybody, he technically ‘bossed’ his way out of this. That was just too charming.

One matter, though. Why would Naomi be so obedient toward him? That was a hundred thousand at stake and she could just let him go like this?

Ramona was filled with questions and wanted answers from Tyler.

“I thought you despised him. Now, you think he’s cool?” Ramona asked.

Tiffany was stuck in an awful situation. She made fun of Tyler so badly before this and was currently ashamed of herself.

“Hehe, I didn’t know he was this influential…” Tiffany’s eyes gleamed with jealousy. She was jealous of Ramona and at the same time curious about Tyler.

Ramona did not wrap up her conversation but simply walked out of Faircreek Seafood Restaurant.

“We’ll make a move, Susan.” Suzette bid Susan goodbye at the entrance of the restaurant.

“Alright. Come visit again.” Susan was being courteous because she was excited about her win. This useless Son-in-Law finally brought them some pride.

“Susan, you should keep an eye on Tyler. He may look like an honest man but he’s actually a playboy,” reminded Suzette.

“What do you mean, Suzette?” Susan was stunned by her words.

“Did you miss what Naomi said? She said she liked Tyler because he’s good looking.”

“You mean… They’re in a secret affair?” Susan’s pupil dilated.

“Duh! Why else would she do that for Tyler? Hehe, I’ll leave the rest for you to discover. There must be something fishy between them!” Suzette was certain.

“Bastard!” Susan was convinced and she wanted to whack Tyler.

As she gave it a second thought and she became even more convinced. Why else would a loser like Tyler have influence over Naomi? That was a hundred thousand bucks!

“Haha, everything makes sense now. After all that argument, it turns out Tyler has a sugar mommy.” Graham laughed out loud.

“I see and here I thought he was actually capable. A sugar mommy, haha! Nothing new… He’s been under the wings of a woman all this while.” Tiffany suddenly realized.

Ramona was so confused she did not know what to say. As reluctant as she was to accept the accusations, Tyler’s interactions with Naomi proved the accusations to be legitimate.

After bidding farewell, Ramona and Susan returned to their home.

Ramona did not interrogate Tyler for that as she had not been a good wife to him after all. They never had sex since their marriage, so she did not think she had the right to reprimand Tyler if he actually had an affair. They could simply divorce and consider it sorted.

However, Susan did not plan to let it slide. “Tyler Zand make yourself visible, NOW!” she yelled the moment she reached home.

Tyler was resting in his room when Susan’s voice simply gave him a headache.

Did he not save her face in the restaurant just now? What was with her temper?

“You called for me, Mom?” Tyler came out of his room.

Susan got even more enraged merely at the sight of him.

“Go on, act like everything’s fine! I’ll see how long you can keep up with this pretense!” She pointed angrily at Tyler.

“Oh, so you know now, Mom?” Tyler asked.

“Of course I know! You better explain yourself before I do!” Susan was fueled as she thought he was going to so casually admit he had an affair.

Tyler looked at Ramona, Susan, and sighed, “Mom, Ramona, now that you already know, I’ll come clean. I’m actually from an ultra-rich family…”
