Chapter 69 Did She Not Have Enough?

The only reason Mrs. Johnson was so arrogant was that she trusted Jessica fully. However, even so, she was not an inexperienced woman.

Mrs. Johnson started crying in fear when she heard that. “Officer, even if I’m at fault, it’s only because I was lied to!”

“So you can hurt people just because you’ve been lied to?”

“Didn’t you hire those people? That’s assault, and that’s even worse.”

Mrs. Johnson was being detained amid her howlings. At that moment, John was using his custom-made suit jacket that cost a few hundred thousand bucks to wrap Natalie’s body snugly. He asked the policeman courteously, “Can we leave now?”

After he heard that, John did not say much. He merely said in a deep voice, “Let’s go.”

“You should go back first.”

“Why?”

Natalie’s voice was super low. “I’m going to change my clothes back in Zoey’s house, and then I’m picking Howie up.”

“Do it tomorrow.”

Natalie let out a sigh of relief after hearing that.

After all, she did not know whether her brother would detect anything if she went to pick him up in this state. Hence, it was best not to see him at the moment.

However, she was afraid that her brother would be unhappy if she did not go and pick him up. Thankfully, he did not force her today.

She thanked him gratefully before turning around to look at Zoey. “Zo, thank you for today.”

Zoey ran her fingers through her sticky hair and said righteously, “Why are you being so polite with me? Who are we? We’re friends, aren’t we!”

Natalie felt even more grateful. Suddenly, it was as if she had thought of something. She lifted her head to look at John. “Can we send Zoey back on the way?”

Greg volunteered himself when he heard that. “Don’t worry, Miss Natalie. I’ll send Miss Graham home safely.”

She did not know how many times she had said the word ‘thanks’ today. However, aside from that word, she did not know what else she could say.

Thankfully, John did not bring her back to the Winters’ family house in her battered and exhausted state. He brought her back to his apartment instead. After getting into the house, he urged her when they were at the entrance. “Go and shower.”
