CHAPTER EIGHT

She hate competing to someone but if it's for Travis, she will do anything. They are already back in the house. Travis is usually the one cooking their meal but today Alice decided she will do it. She needs to show off her own skills. She doesn't want Kamila to go above her. Kamila offered her help to cook for foods but Alice refused. 

Alice looked at the saucepan. The big problem here is, she doesn't know how to cook! She watched it for a minute without moving and thinking for a way how to cook the meat.

"Are you okay, honey? Do you need my help?" Travis gently asked while peeking on the door. Alice smiled at him.

"I can do this, honey. Trust me. Just sit there and relax, okay? I love you," she said. Travis smiled hearing those words coming from his mate's lips. He marched to her side and kissed her temple.

"I love you too, honey," he said and pulled her close to him. Alice laughed when the sauce spilled on the counter. How can she cook if he's this close to her? She playfully slapped Travis on the shoulder and glared at him, completely forgotten Kamila outside the kitchen.

"Honey, I'm concentrating here. Behave yourself," she warned and took her phone out of her pocket to watch cooking videos. Travis chuckled. He can't help it. Alice wearing a dress made her looked so damn beautiful. He can feel his burning desire for her. Only for her. 

Kamila entered the kitchen and rolled her eyes at the sight in front of her. She gave a fake cough to interrupt the two who's busy flirting with each other. She smiled and raised a basket full of fruits.

"It was given by a warrior to you, Travis. Where should I put this?" she asked. Travis pointed the table and smiled at her.

"Just put it there," Travis said without leaving Alice's side. Kamila gripped the handle hard. She's irritated by the way Travis snaked his arms around Alice's waist. She can't stand the sight. It makes her blood boil.

"Can I talk to you for a minute. I want to ask something," she said. Travis nodded his head and followed Kamila outside. She actually doesn't have a question for him but it's the only way to separate the two of them. She wanted to use hypnosis spell on him but she's to weak to cast it after she casted healing spell earlier. It drained her energy. They sat on the couch in the living room.

"What is it?" Travis asked. Kamila played the hem of her dress and fidgeted. Travis notice this and he sighed. "Is this about the rogues?" he asked. Kamila looked straight to his face and slowly nodded her head. Melvin decided to investigate the kidnapping and wants Thanatos to pay for his crime but that guy is too slick.

"I heard they didn't catch the remaining rogues who escaped," Travis said. Kamila sighed. Like her, Travis wanted those guys to pay for the damages they've done but there's no sign of them anywhere. "Don't worry, you are safe here. No on will try and take you away," he assured. 

"Thank you so much, Travis," Kamila said and touched his hands. She almost uttered her spell but Alice got out of the kitchen with a gloves on her both hands.

"What are you guys doing? Are you planning something behind my back?" she asked suspiciously and raise her eyebrows. Travis pulled her hands away and went to her.

"Nothing, honey, it's just that Kamila is asking about the rogues that kidnapped them," Travis quickly explained to her. Alice carefully eyed him. He doesn't want Alice to get a bad idea that something is going on. He loves her very much. His one and only mate.

"I'm kidding, honey. The food I cooked is already done. Let's eat, Kamila," she said and smiled. Kamila nodded trying to hide her anger. She followed the two inside and sat beside Travis.

"Honey," Travis said in half disbelief, half laughing. The food is a total mess. Travis tried tasting it and was disgusted by it. He scratched the back of his head and looked at Alice who was looking ashamed. He grabbed the bowl and kissed Alice's hand.

"It's okay honey. I'm going to re-do it," he said and smiled. Alice shyly nodded her head and looked at Kamila who's holding back her laugh. Her irritations and embarrassment intensifies.

"Let me help you, Travis. I know a great way on how to cook," Kamila said and smiled to Alice. Alice gripped the glass in her hand. She didn't just failed in cooking, she also failed to hold Kamila back for flirting with her mate.

"Really? Show me," Travis said. Aside from the busy schedule of being the beta of the pack and his training session with the warriors, cooking is his past time. He loves to cook. He likes to experiment and Alice is his food taster. Kamila got up and she made sure Alice will see how she will make Travis fall for her.

Alice's heart tightened as she saw how happy Travis is. Her wolf isn't liking it. She needs to talk to Kamila as soon as possible. No one will take her mate away from her, no one.

Travis saw how Alice got up and marched outside the kitchen. He put the laddle down and quickly went to her, leaving Kamila alone on the kitchen.

"Hey," he said and put his hand on her shoulder. Alice sadly smiled at him. He sighed and led her to the couch. He let her sat on his lap and play with her hair.

"What's wrong?" he asked. Alice sniffled a sobbed and hugged him. "I don't know how to cook," she said. Travis couldn't help but laugh. He gently rub her back and draw little circles on it. His mate is so adorable.

"It's okay, honey. I still love you with all my heart," he sweetly said which made Alice smile. She cupped her face and planted a soft kiss on his lips.

"You are mine," she said. 

"Yes, honey. I'm yours, forever," he answered without hesitation. Alice's smile widen. They talked completely forgotten about Kamila who's intently looking at him. The spell she's working on is still not ready. She needs to hypnotize Blake first. She needs to transfer here as soon as possible.

"Vshisha mhiel, love. Just a little more time," she whispered and smiled, a sinister one. A little more time and they will be together again.
