002-The Escape
Author: Inker Liu"No wonder you left the cloud..." Said the cat with her tail up in the air swaying casually. She might not seem to understand comparison, but she surely knew what freedom means.
"Actually," said Nonoth, "I have my own reason for my escape besides that. Uncle S promised me the apple would help me find my real mom."
There was a small problem with that answer, but it took the creatures around her a few seconds to realize what that problem is.
"Why just your mom and not your dad? Don't you miss him as well?" A little lion pointed it out.
"Silly question, what's a dad good for?" A bird laughed. Obviously, a dad was not a major part in his life.
"Well, I got some troubling news from The Tree when I took the apple, he says that Adam IS my father, but I don't believe it! Why is he not with my mom then, if he truly is my father? Why would he..." She didn't finish that sentence and fell silent for a little while before she rose her head again with a firm tone: "I have no father."
And this time all the creatures around her fell into silent, too, not knowing what's appropriate to say at this moment.
"So... why did you have to escape? They don't allow you to leave the cloud?" The cute little lion broke the silence with a different topic.
"I'm not sure, maybe they could and they just forgot that. I have to escape because it's forbidden to take apples off The Tree. I've been planning my escape ever since Uncle S told me all about it." Nonoth totally forgot about what was upsetting her a moment ago and caught up with her story.
"And that day was the most fun I have ever had living on the cloud! So, I sneaked out of the pack in the middle of the night and went to The Tree. I was gonna pick the cutest apple but Uncle S told me that The Tree would know which one belongs to me, and it did!" Nonoth's eyes opened wider in excitement.
"When I got under The Tree everything was dark and you can barely make out the creek or the flowers, because they were all sleeping. But when I approached The Tree, one apple lit up and was shining in the middle of the night with a deep dark blue light, exactly like my hair color! Except my hair doesn't shine. I knew at that moment that it was waiting for me." Nonoth stuck her tongue out a little as she curled a shred of her deep azure hair on her finger.
"I didn't know The Tree would be angry at me for taking that apple, though. I thought it lit it up for me to take. But The Tree started shaking and roaring the second I got it off, so loud that even the flowers on the farthest end of the cloud were awoken, so the whole cloud lit up in a second and it was beautiful! Pretty sure the cloud has never seen itself in such a pretty state!" Nonoth said with pride as if she was not misbehaving there with all the sneaking out and taking forbidden fruits.
"In the clear starry sky so quickly formed a twirl of dark clouds, like someone is stirring it with a huge ice-cream spoon. But not a very appealing ice-cream considering there were sounds of thunder coming out from that deep hole in the sky."
"Luckily I have been working on my escape route, AND I hid all of their shoes. They won't go anywhere without their shoes, haha, they are THAT lazy and clean. So I only had to worry about the angels but once I got far enough from The Tree, it would take them a while to find me."
"I ran towards the edge and jumped, knowing that Uncle S would be expecting me under there and catch me, but...!" Nonoth suddenly stopped in the middle of the sentence and held there for a while, all the creatures stared at her intensely.
"...he wasn't there."
"Oh dear..." A deer fainted. She was so tall that all the creatures around her jumped up and fled to avoid being crushed by her body. Luckily there was a Wolpertinger near her and he quickly slided under her falling body and caught her before her body cut off the creek.
"Where is he?!" Someone asked.
"How could you survive falling such a long way down when you don't have wings?" A small bird tilted her antlered head and asked.
"I can't! Well, I couldn't, that is." Nonoth corrected herself and winked at the bird.
"How could he be so unreliable! You must trust him a lot to jump off such a height just for a promise!" It was a voice filled with anger and surprise.
With so many creatures burst into comments, Nonoth couldn't make them out one by one, so she made a "quiet" gesture to try to calm them down: "Guys! Don't worry! I'm alright, aren't I? It's an accident with a happy ending."
Creatures start to get calmer, and Nonoth kept on with her story: "There was an interesting accident before I jumped off the edge. I ran into a thorns field. It was too late to find another way, but I couldn't go through it either. I think the thorns were just planted there on that day because I checked the route many times and it was never there!"
"The angels were getting closer and I was getting nervous. I wasn't too afraid of the punishment, whatever that might be. What scared me was that I might never get another chance of escaping that dull and lifeless 'garden' if I get caught."
"I started to try make a way out of the thorns field with my field and soon my hands were soaked in blood. I could hear the angels coming closer and that was when my hands lit up, like this -- " Nonoth rose her left hand and snapped her fingers. A cluster of blue fire emerged from the thin air and was now jumping in her palm.
"I call it Azurite." Murmured Nonoth, staring at the jumping fire with a soft look.

Little Witch Nonoth 011-The City of the Desert
By the time Nonoth realized Jack diverted the topic off her question with his "big discovery", they were already under the huge gate of the City of the Desert.Nonoth wasn't expecting such a magnificent city, especially when it was a city located just outside of a wide desert with few people ever to visit. And those are the rare in the rare, only like adventurers or people who doesn't have to eat, in short, those who has a death wish, or those that are already deadBut this city was one of the few cities that Nonoth had come across in the years after she left the cloud, looking for her identity. With an enormous gate almost 100 meters tall, the city was surrounded by six as high walls that were made of huge irregular stones. The very question of how long did it took for those who built the city to finish this master piece takes long for one to get even just some idea."The coin is getting hotter so we are close. They are definitely inside the city." Nonot

"Why are you following me?" Nonoth stopped again and ask the boy."You took my silver coin." The boy was surprisingly calm."And I offered you a piece of gold for that." Nonoth sighed, started the conversation they had had for several times now."I don't want your gold." The boy answered, again."I need the coin to track my friend, who was taken by the owner of your coin." Nonoth said, again."I want to tag along." The boy said, obviously not gonna give in on that."And I told you, you cannot. They are obviously dangerous people. I can't guarantee your safety." Nonoth sighed again. She didn't have the heart to use spell on this boy who just wanted to help."You took my silver coin." The boy said."..."It actually would be easier if Nonoth take the boy though, cause her tracking spell tracks all the person who has ever touched the c
Little Witch Nonoth 009-Soil, feather and leaf
Soil from the earth, given by the mother of all;Feather that never fall, granted by fatherly heaven;Leaf from a tree, the symbol of life; They see all they show, they show all they seen...Murmuring the spell, Nonoth summoned Azurite and lit up the soil, feather and leaf lying in the magic circle in front of her.It was a complicated and rarely used tracking spell. Nonoth got it from an old witch who was so old that she constantly forgot where everything was so she put her cabin under this spell all the time.It re-creates the image of a place for the last 24 hours so you could see where what you are looking for went. Normally witches only need something that's been in contact with what they are looking for and track them with a simpler spell through this media. This spell is for when there is no such thing, such as in this case, where Nonoth didn't have anything of Mal.

"Who ARE you!" Nonoth yelled at Lili in rage."I'm Lili. We just met last night. Aww, you forgot me that quickly? I'm sad." Lili said with a chuckle, somehow made it sounded like she was not sad at all."You are an evil witch!" Nonoth burst out with anger."That I'm not, I can assure you." Lili was still cleaning, well, wiping the bar with a just as dirty rag."You drugged us, didn't you?" Nonoth crossed her arms in front of her chest, inquiring Lili."How horrible!" Lili put on a so very obvious fake shock: "I did no such thing! I guess Ravenlick IS a bit too strong for two kids, so I AM sorry for getting you drunk.""I'm not a kid! I have had liquor more than you can imagine when I was living on..." Nonoth swallowed the words "the cloud" back, thinking it might not be wise to give "the evil witch" anymore information of her. So after a short hesitation, she finished her sentence w

"Hey, that's my drink!" Mal protested with laughter hiding not very well in his tone because there was now a Nonoth clinging onto his drink."..." Nonoth just sipped on the drink, not answering. Yes, she would admit she didn't expect such a bouquet from a so turbid liquid, but that was not the only reason. In the warm and sweet taste, hid a faint familiar scent. It was a scent carrying a refreshing smell like a cool breeze in a summer night, but in the meantime a mild, moist texture, like the sunshine in a winter afternoon. It's a taste of happy and safe, tender as silk.It had a scent of Azurite."Maybe..." Nonoth murmured to herself. But with deep doubt, she didn't finish that sentence.「Could it be? Could it be her mother that was making this brew with her magic? But how could it be? For all those years that she has been missing, she was here making a dirty brew in a shabby taver

"Lilith, demon of the night, ha?" Nonoth repeated, with a smirk on her face."Human has a thing about dark, don't you think?" Mal laughed at the sarcasm in her tone."Yeah, they blame everything horrible to the night, and they think everything of night horrible, haha. I think it's a fear they created by themselves."Mal thought carefully for a while and shook his head: "Phantasms are for fools and those who are too lazy to seek the truth. They shall see night's beauty and that of the creatures wandering in night if they simply just look.""You don't say!" Nonoth nodded, adding: "I do admit that night can be dangerous to some people, but the irony is that, that danger comes mostly from human themselves, cause those with ill-intent dare only do evil under the protection of darkness.""They seek for protection from darkness, yet still speak ill of it." Mal said, "That's not nice.""Hah
