6. First Day of Work

Keira, moved back to her own house because it is closer to the office, she promised her nana that she will be visiting her every weekend also during office hours when she can sneak out to check on her.

Keira has been standing in front of her closet for a good five minutes already; trying to figure out what to wear for her first day at work. She wants to leave a good impression but does not want to be too eye-catching.

She ended up choosing an off white cashmere fabric tulip dress with a bateau neckline that she accented with a gold brooch. She had her hair in a side weep updo that highlighted her perfect face. She stared at her reflection in the mirror; she can't help but comment on her new fashion sense.

"Geez, I can't believe I will be ever to say this to myself... but damn, I'm gorgeous." She laughed at her confident aura.

"That di*k head should feel sorry if he gets to see me now." The thought of Stephen motivates her more to be a better version of herself, he should regret playing with her like that.

Keira now uses her father's priced coupe as her own, she knows how much her dad loved this car and now it is a shame to let it sit in the garage.

Keira stroked the bright orange-colored Lamborghini Gallardo; this is a fairly old car, but nevertheless, it is still a beauty that deserves a ride outside the garage. She absolutely adored this coupe as she clearly remembered how her father took care of this one.

Keira has special access to the VIP garage, making sure she will not be seen going to the office with this luxurious beauty.

It is only fifteen minutes before her duty, Mr. Watson fetched her from the VIP Garage where he also gave her a secret card to access all the places inside the building; only the CEO has this privilege not even the board of directors could have it.

"Remember to keep these Ms.Keira, and be careful when using them, we don't want to be revealed early"

Keira nodded and thanked Mr.Watson for all the instructions and reminders he just gave her; she felt that father's love she misses dearly.

"I'll go ahead Mr. Watson, be assured I will not let nana and you down; I will do my very best."

Keira boarded the elevator first, and then went directly to her new office; she will be one of the staff of the planning department.

It is her first time entering their building; she was surprised to see that there were no offices on this floor except for the manager's office, there were just cubicles with low partitions. She also observed that there are a pantry and a washroom at the right corner of the floor.

"What are you looking at?" A lady looked at her with disdain.

"Hi, my name is Keira Gr.. Gray, I  am the new staff here." She almost forgot her disguise, everyone knows that the heiress' name is Keira Greene, although no one has really seen her, the name itself is familiar to everyone in the company.

"Hahaha, look at you, do you know that you are just a few letters away from being the heiress of a conglomerate?" Another woman appeared beside her.

"Hahaha, really? That's so unfortunate for me." Keira tried to play it cool while the two women are clearly mocking her.

"You don't get to laugh with us when we're making fun of you." The first woman glared at her.

"Quit it Rebecca and Georgie, don't scare the newbie." A tall guy came to her rescue.

"Hi, I'm Jude, also a part of the planning team." Jude faced Keira who was being bullied by the two seniors.

Aila smiled at Jude and bowed to everyone in there.

"I'm glad we finally have such a gorgeous woman working here, you definitely make this office a lot brighter."

Jude was helping Keira make some jabs at the two rude women earlier.

A few minutes later Mr. Pete Clancy; the manager of the planning department entered the office. His presence is quite eccentric and humorously boastful; Keira did not like how he stared at her.

"Ms. Keira it is lovely to have you as the newest member of the planning team, kindly introduce yourself to your colleagues. I will be waiting for you in my office at around nine."

He winked at Keira and went directly to his office; Keira successfully hid her disgust from the dirty old man.

"My name is Keira Gray, I am twenty years old a fresh graduate. This is my first job, I hope you can guide me while I learn here."

Keira humbly bowed before the team who was a bit skeptical of her abilities.

"I wonder who you are dating, is it the manager here or is it from the HR?" Rebecca's sharp tongue struck again.

"Do you know how hard it is to enter this company? You are a fresh graduate, what are your qualifications? I don't see anything here dear, except that pleasant face of yours" Georgie seconded Rebecca's rudeness.

"Are you dating anyone right now?" Jude asked in passing, hoping to dispel the rumors; because Keira dating a big gun in this company will hinder his plans on pursuing Keira.

"No, I am currently not dating anyone. As for my qualifications... Well, I graduated with Latin honors from Stanford University, majoring in business and finance, I guess that's what the HR saw in my resume that made it stand out."

"Whatever!" Rebecca walked towards her work station, soon Georgie followed after her.

"Hi Keira, my name is Thea; I'll help you settle down in the office, you can approach me if there's anything you need." Thea has a pleasant smile; Keira found it genuine so she smiled back at her hoping to have an ally in this office.

"Thanks, you please excuse me; the manager is expecting me in a few minutes." Keira politely excused herself from the others.

"I'm making a bet, that girl is a sl*t with a sugar daddy." Georgie was giggling while shamelessly slandering her new colleague.

"What made you think so?" Jude was still assessing his chances with Keira.

"Guys really don't have a keen eye for fashion, I'm sure you don't stand a chance Jude, whoever she's with I'm sure he has lots of money." Georgie was mocking Jude whose intention was rather obvious.

"Really sis? I thought you understood fashion, I'll bet her dress is fake." Rebecca smiled with a hint of certainty.

"I don't know sis, but it sure looks genuine to me, plus I believe she's definitely somebody's sugar baby"

"That dress from the current collection of Ardor Couture costs more than ten thousand dollars. They only released one piece of that for the superstar Frida, now there's no way she knows Frida right?"

"Wow, I am amazed how you two ladies know a lot about this stuff and thank you for clarifying that she does not need a sugar daddy to afford that dress since its fake." Jude snorted at Rebecca.

"Not so fast lover boy, like what Georgie said it looks quite genuine; so it might actually still cost a few hundred since it is a class-A replica."

"Settle down guys, I have a way to figure it out." Georgie's smile was emanating wickedness, as she was holding a cup of coffee.

Inside the manager's office, Keira was holding her notepad and pen while waiting for the manager's instructions.

"Keira, since this is your first day at work, you can ask any of the staff to orient you on what needs to be done. By the way, you look exquisite today; I did not expect to have such a lovely subordinate."

Pete stood up behind her and massaged her shoulders.

Keira cleared her throat.

"Ahem, sir If there's nothing else, please excuse me, I want to start with the day's work."

Pete was surprised to see how she easily turned him down even if though she's aware that her life depends on him, after all, he is her boss.

Keira stepped out of the manager's office and walked in the direction of her workstation. She was startled when Georgie suddenly showed up in front of her... 

"What the Fu*k!" Keira blurted out as she was splashed with coffee, it ruined her white dress.
