CHAPTER 3

Celine's POV

I woke up with a terrible headache and as if it was not bad enough, coupled with it my limbs ached badly.

My fear finally came to pass. 

For the past one month I have been working too hard without rest and sleeping too little because I barely knew how to anymore. Without Adam by my side sleep was no longer a welcomed sight.

Insomnia was telling on me now and it was doing so very well. My eye bags had been a little price to pay since they were well covered by my shades. But this sudden weakness, I sure didn't account for it.

My body was forcing me to rest and I did not like it one bit.  

I've forgotten how to live without Adam. I've forgotten how to sleep without him, and I no longer knew how to keep surviving without him.

I managed to get up and pee. Immediately I washed my hands I was so tempted to rush to the bed and leave the tap open.

My legs were shaking and so were my hands even though I had used the hot water tap. I was burning from the inside and freezing outside.

I put on the heater and curled up in my bed. Today I won't be going to work unfortunately. I couldn't ignore this sickness this time. I dialed my doctors number and waited in bed for him.

There was a knock on the door and the housekeeper came in. "Ma'am someone is at the door. He says he is your driver. Should I send him up."

I contemplated asking her to tell him off, but that would be rude and since it was his first day at work I didn't want to show him that side of me now. 

He doesn't know me yet and if I did this he would definitely succumb to thinking that I am a bitter woman which I was but well he doesn't have to know that. 

"Just let him come up." I coughed.

She looked at me worriedly. "Ma'am are you OK?"

"Not really but my doctor is on his way. You can leave now." I mumbled, waving her away. She nodded, closing the door behind her.

My brain felt like it was going to explode as if a thousand giants were playing basket ball in my head. I suddenly felt the urge to throw up. I ran into the bathroom feeling all the food I've eaten claw up to my throat, fighting to be let out.

With shaky legs I puked letting out all the salad I had eaten yesterday night. I watched it as it went down into the toilet, giving the toilet a different color.

It felt like my intestines were shrinking. My throat was so dry and I was vomiting with much difficulty but I could not stop.

"Calm down. Take, drink this." A voice said to me offering me water. 

I looked up from the toilet seat to see my driver looking down at me with worry and fear. I nodded and took the water from him.

"It would help you vomit easily. You are lacking body fluid that's why you are finding it this painful to throw up." He muttered. 

I took the glass from him and gulped down the entire content. It actually felt so good to finally drink water, it made me feel better as it wet my throat.
