I went through all the profiles of the students, I need to know about everyone in my class. I want my class to be an interesting one. I decided to have a debate class today instead of topic explaining.

They already started sending me a friend request on facebook. I accepted a few people’s whom I recognise, after my breakfast, I padded towards my room and took a warm shower.

I dressed in a simple turtleneck red sweater and black jeans. I looked presentable, I did my hair and put on my nude heels.

I walked out of my house and started my day with a smile on my face. I am looking forward to know their thoughts and mindset towards society.

“Good morning everyone! ”

“Good morning ma’am.”

I put my belongings on the table before looking at everyone. They were sitting with their friends, some are sitting alone at the back with no-one.

“As you all know pol. Science is a civics subject which talks about society and mostly about people. I want everyone to participate in the class by sharing your views and thoughts. But what I observed is even though you guys have your thoughts you are scared to share them. So I made partners for everyone, you people will be sitting with your partner in my class. You can change after finishing my class.”

They were quite as they don’t have any idea about how to respond to it. Most of the people who are here know each other from long back, it won’t be any different for them. This university is a private college, most of them who are best friends joined here and took the same course as their friends.

“And you guys are inferior in this subject, I have gone through your previous papers, and I'm shocked to see how bad your performances are.”

That made them give me awkward smiles because I'm true; they are very bad at remembering all the side headings.

We sat there not knowing what to do, I looked at the faces of other students. They all looked happy to sit with others, I turned to Milly she is talking with her friend who sat beside her. I wish that to sit beside her, maybe just maybe I could have a chance of talking to her, know her even more.

“And how many of you are having phones right now? ” she asked.

Everyone’s hands are up in the air.

“Collect the phones and drip them in this box.” she said.

“Huh? What that for? ”

“I don’t want anyone of you texting someone or using your phone, so drop it.” she said looking at us.

Everyone stood up and walked towards the box and dropped their phone in that.

“Good! I will call out the names and you go sit with your partner.”

My eyes widen when I heard my name with Milly, I felt the rush of happiness flowing throughout my body. I stood up from my seat and walked towards where she is, she saw me, smiled at me before shifting so that I can sit.

Briya is on my right side, she was a little bit uncomfortable because she was paired with her “ex”. I guess this is the perfect time to clear off their misunderstandings and whatever happened between them. All can see the love for each other they have but you know egos have more control than their love.

Everyone is having a huge smile on their faces, they started talking with their partners. The people who used to sit alone are now sitting with someone. It’s a good thing, they can have someone to talk with.

I saw Brian is paired with Jerry but they have a huge smile on their faces just like us which made me confuse.

“And now everyone open your notes, we are going to have a debate today, I want everyone to participate and share your thoughts. Your assignment marks will be based on this. So if you want to score then speak out. ”

CAUSES AND PREVENTIONS

“You already know what the topic of today is, I want to know what your thoughts are about rape. It’s been a social problem faced in many of the countries.”

“Every time we have my class we will be learning in this way, we will decide on a topic, I will give you 20 minutes of the time to discuss with your partner. Write down whatever you guys thought in your notebook. I will check every book and based on your thoughts I will be giving you marks.”

I started sharing my views with Milly, Milly too started telling her thoughts. And it is the first time we ever spoke or shared something. We wrote down whatever we thought.

“Times up! ”

“Now I will ask a question if you guys wanna answer it, just answer it politely. so that the whole class can understand what you were saying,” she said getting in front of the teacher’s desk.

“The first question, What is rape?!”

“Sexual assault.” Seb and Lara said.

“Sexual intercourse.” Jerry and Brian said.

“Sexual penetration carried out against a person without that person’s consent.” I and milly said.

“Good! Now everyone write down the questions and also the answer.”

“Second question: why rapes are happening? ”

“Because of the dress’s girls wear at the party which caught the eye of men.” someone said

For which miss.elora raises her eyebrow and says to continue our views about that.

“Because of the alcohol male’s take at parties and functions.” A pair said. For which ms Elora gives a sarcastic smile

We don’t have any more answers for that question because I and Milly thought those two answers which were already said by others are true. The whole class was silent.

“So, you guys don’t have any other answers why a person is raped? Ah?” she asked us.

“Let me clarify this one,” she said.

" You walk in a street and come across a beautiful woman, you get attracted and there are a few who get desperate. Attraction leads to love, desperation leads to rape. There is a difference in getting butterflies in the stomach and getting a boner” she said.

“Noone can stop rape when it comes to desperation.” she continues and we all listened to her. her words surely hit everyone.

“By putting him in jail,” someone said.

“People use what they have to make money. You possess a degree and you use it to earn money. They don’t have any degree, so they utilize there body to make money. “And so, you are talking about caste, religion, and society only when you had enough food in your stomach. We own nothing to the culture. We own to our stomach, to our heart, to our soul, to our life, to live, we need to fill our stomach. And we don’t need to spread the culture to fulfil our hunger,” she said...

This question by her is far beyond our intellect never in my life no one questioned this.

“But ma'am, Being a woman, it’s tough for them to digest the fact of losing virginity to an unknown man? How do they take it? I asked.

“Women never lose her virginity, all are virgin in this world or in that occupation which we debating because according to me, being a virgin means being pure not being untouched. You are a virgin until you keep your morals until you are ethical,” she answered my question.

" More importantly A layer can’t decide our purity, you are a slut if you lose your morals and ethics. So prostitute or not, virgin or not, every woman in this world are meant to be respected, Not to be raped. If she is interested and willingly giving her soul to you accept it but don’t take that valuable thing from her just for your pleasure or time pass.” she said.

“You not only took her virginity but also her soul. You may leave her alone when you are satisfied but did you guys ever think of her? Not only physically but also mentally they are affected so, don’t be a rapist or fuckboy. Wait for the perfect person to come into your life,” she said.

“And the funniest thing ever is all men in the world go and fucks around for their pleasure and when it comes to their life partner they expect them to be a virgin? I am I, right?” she asked us. coming to our way.

The whole class went silent. The things she said is damn true. I realized what I did and now I feel guilty. this is true and this is a reality. This women in front of us opened our eyes and made us realize our mistakes. I saw around and saw my friends faces they all hold the same expression as me. they changed by a single debate class.

“So, I guess you guys like the class,” she asked us taking her books.

“No, we loved your class,” we all said in a unison voice. Her smile widens now.

" We actually completed our two chapters and now I assume that you guys understood everything we spoke,” she said.

We all said yes and give her a smile

“I want you guy’s to read an article I read, which is why I decided today’s topic as rape, I am truly inspired by this article: one night with the prostitute. All the answers I answered are the answers of a prostitute. I hope you guys changed the way you think.”

We wrote down the title she said. We surely gonna read it, she walked away to her next class.

“Did you hear her answers they were beyond my imagination I never thought she would just change us in just one class and make us already good at two chapters.” Jerry said.

“Did you guys observe she made us sit with our crush’s.” Brian said.

I looked confused at his statement because he got to sit with Jerry and he is excited about that.

“Huh? Can I ask you question man?“seb said.

“Well, actually I am a gay and Jerry is also a gay,” Brian said. Well, that was a shocking one, because we never knew that.

“But you never said to us? seb asked.

“Yeah! But miss.elora made me realize that it’s better to open up and live freely than hiding our identity.” he said looking at jerry.

“When did you speak to her,” I asked him.

“After class duh,”

“Why?” I asked.

“I went and asked for a date. But she just said go and ask Jerry, I see he is interested in you. Which made me a shock because of how she knows about that. She just winked and walked away. Man, I am saying na she is an amazing lady with magic powers she can read minds man!” he said.

“You guys never knew that I am a gay but she just came yesterday and know my life’s biggest secret.” he said looking at briya.

Yeah! She is but she is full of secrets!

“So, briya?” jerry said.

“Yeah?” she said looking at him.

“You and jack?” he asked. We all looked at her. She blushes!!

“We are back again.” she said looking down at her food.

“What?! Really?! When??” brian asked.

“In class.” she replied.

“And we are so happy that we are back and no misunderstandings and no going back.” she said looking into Jack’s eyes.
