Chapter 1: Back to High school

I walked up the stairs that leads to the high school entrance and looked around, it has been a century since I last pretended to be a teen in High school and even though a lot of things seem to have changed the dynamic looks the same.

I been told to look after Cassie, so it makes most sense to try and get into the same classes as her, I just hope that she at least picked some interesting classes as there is nothing worse than being stuck in a class where I know all the answers, or where I have lived through the history they are talking about. In the supernatural world, I am not classed as being that old, however compared to humans, I am ancient.

When I get to the registration office, I get told to wait and have a seat. I know I can use my powers to speed this up but the less I use them the better. You never know who may be lurking around.  If the past is anything to go from, there are a lot of supernatural being pretending to be humans in high school. I never seen the appeal. High school will not teach you anything that actually matters in the outside world.

The actual world is a cruel place and if you do not look after yourself, you are likely to become someone’s dinner or at least being taken advantage of.  It is everyone for themselves. The only reason I am doing this is because Nick showed me that sometimes friendship is thicker than blood and he alone considered me his brother, so when I got taken into another dimension, he risked his life to get me out of there. Which is how he ended up being my master.

My thoughts got cut short as the reception lady tells me that I can go in and see the headmaster.

After a few minutes, I have made the headmaster believe that he has all the necessary paperwork that he needs to enrol me into high school. Sometimes it is so easy to use mind control on people. A slight suggestion here and an imaginary memory there. It is all just temporary, and it will not leave any permanent scars, even so I feel bad for using this ability sometimes as I do not like to interfere with free will, however in this instant it is for the greater good.

when I get out of the room, I look down on my class schedule. The headmaster allocated me to all the same classes that Cassie is taking. Most of the classes does not seem too much of a bore, but it would have been great if she would have played some sports. Why could Nick not have had a son that enjoys sports? That would have been more fun, besides, I killed at football, not literately, when I played it on my first High School experience. Oh well a mission is a mission; I am not meant to enjoy it.

While I was walking towards my locker, I see a lot of teenagers walking around in the hallway. Their classes have likely finished and they are heading towards the cafeteria for lunch. As I go to open my locker, someone bumps into me from behind and slams me into the locker. I turn around and see that it was a big muscly guy, probably someone from the football team.

“Watch it new guy” he yells as he continued walking like nothing had happened. Despite his build, I know I could easily take him, but he is not worth it, he is only a human after all. Me, I am a demon and if he only knew how easily I could break him, he would not dare treating me like this. But I am not supposed to draw attention to myself, which means not using my powers, not even to teach him a lesson.

The day continued without anything interesting happening. I make it to my new class in the afternoon and take a seat in the back. I realised that Nick never told me what Cassie looked like. Maybe I need to go see him after school to make sure I know who I am supposed to look out for.

Just before the door closes, in walks one of the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. She is slightly taller than the average girl, with a nice build. She got long brown hair, a nice face, icing blue eyes.

She was wearing a pair of black jeans and a purple top.

Her Eyes scanned the classroom before she makes her way towards the empty space next to me. When she comes closer, I get a feel of her energy and realise that this must be Cassie, as the energy is very similar to Nicks.

“Hi, I’m Cassie, you must be new” she tells me as she sits down. All of the sudden I do not regret taking this assignment, however I do not think Nick would be as happy about my feelings towards his daughter. I look at Cassie and give her a smile. “I’m Jax.”

I was about to talk to her more when the teacher walked in and demanded everyone’s attention. I do not really remember much of the lesson as I spent most of the time trying to come up with excuses that I could use to spend more time with Cassie. One day and I have already broken Nicks instructions not to get involved.

When the class finishes, I make an attempt at small talk. Cassie asked me where I live, and I realised that I have not actually thought things through. I do not even have a house in the area yet. I make some vague place up, explaining that I only moved here yesterday and do not really know the area very well. She offers to show me around and help me get to the next class as she realises that we are in the same one.

Walking around school with Cassie is very informative. A lot of people stop and says hi, and the others look up from what they are doing. I guess she is one of the popular girls or maybe it is the demon glamour at work. It is hard to tell.

When we get to the new class, Cassie excuses herself and goes to sit with some of her friends. Some of them are casting looks towards me. It does not bother me too much as I know that if I really wanted to, I could figure out what they are saying, but to be honest it makes no difference. My objectives are to keep Cassie safe and as far as I could tell, the other girls are all human. Besides, I would feel bad if I were to eavesdrop on their conversation.

I do not get another chance to talk to Cassie that day and as school finishes, I realise that I need to find myself a place to live, ideally a house that is near to both the school and Cassi’s house.

I spend a few hours searching for a place to live, eventually I find the perfect house. It is not that big but the land, or should I say forest, that surrounds the house is perfect. It gives me the privacy I need as well as serving as an outer layer of protection.

After I have move in, I put a protective spell around the house and garden. When that is done, I transform into a bird and take to the sky. It is time to figure out where Cassie lives, so that I can cast a protective spell on her house too as I do not want anyone to come knocking on her door after sensing her energy.

The house was easy to spot, not by looks as it looks like a typical suburban house, a detached brickhouse, with a small garden surrounding it. The reason that I can tell that it is the right house, is because of Cassies energy. As I am bound to Nick, I know his energy signature very well and as Cassie is a part of Nick, it is easy for me to detect hers. Maybe that is the reason Nick asked me to do this, as he knew I would be able to sense her energy.

His Daughter's Saviour   Chapter 48: The Witch Village

Leah turned up a few hours later. She told us that they had decided that Mark and Set were going to stay at home as hopefully that would keep Abigail from becoming suspicious. That did mean that the wolves would have to look over Cassie without Mark, however he had already texted them and told them to meet us down at the cabin.

His Daughter's Saviour   Chapter 47: Remembering the past

I was enjoying my flight, knowing that Cassie was safe in my house with Leah protecting her. It made me feel less worried, especially after the defensive display of magic that Leah had manifested by instinct when we were sparring. I knew she still felt bad about it, but in all honesty, it was nothing. If I had been prepared for it, I would have been able to deflect it. My fighting skills go way beyond some elemental magic.

His Daughter's Saviour   Chapter 46: A werewolves Alliance

I teleported us back to the house, but when we got there the house was empty. I started to panic, but Leah told me to calm down. "The wolves would not have wanted to come inside." She said as she walked towards the back garden, I followed her outsi

His Daughter's Saviour   Chapter 45: Research

Cassie and I spent some time just being close to each other after the others had left. Having her remembering her past life helped, and she forgave me for not telling her that I am a demon. After living through Katie's life, she realised why I had been so reluctant in telling her. She also realised that I am different from other demons and that I would do anything for her.

His Daughter's Saviour   Chapter 44: Back to Reality

My consciousness slammed back into my body again. It took some time for me to realise that I was back with Cassie by my side. "We had a baby." I whispered quietly, mostly to myself. "A beautiful baby girl." Cassie turned to look at me. "It was you, it was always you, in my dreams. I wasn't sure, but it was actually you. It actually happened."

His Daughter's Saviour   Chapter 43: Time to say goodbye

Two days later the ceremony for Katie's passing was on its way. Katie's parents were reluctant for me to attend, as it had to be held in the temple, which was a place I was not allowed to visit. On the morning of Katie's ceremony, I was in the hospital, looking over our baby girl Leah, while awaiting confirmation about the situation. Katie's parents had told me that they understood my need to say a proper goodbye to Katie, so they were having a meeting with the elders to discuss the potential of allowing me into the temple this one time. After a lot of waiting, I finally got the word that I was allowed to attend, however little Leah was not allowed to leave the hospital, so I would ha
