Chapter 5

"He needs space that's all,"

 "I've been giving him space. . . maybe our bond is broken,"

 "I hope so," I replied.

My mom sat up and looked at me with an idea on her face, "Maybe you should throw a party! It'll take the tension away off of you," my mother suggested.

 I looked at her and sat up. A party. . . that's PERFECT! Why didn't I think of it sooner? I could throw a party, get them alone, and finally learn the truth. 

 "Mom, you're the best," I smiled and kissed her on the cheek. "I have a party to plan,"

The next day, I was giving people invitation cards to my party, one classmate after another. Afterward, I gave cards to Hailee and Tyler.

 "A party? When?" Hailee asked.

 "This weekend," I answered.

 "Can we bring booze?" Tyler asked. Hailee nodded her head in agreeance.

 "Sure, whatever, are you guys going to come?" 

 "Duh, of course. You know Vee, it's about time since you had a party, you aren't really the outgoing type," Hailee smirked. 

 I rolled my eyes and smiled slyly. She got on my fucking nerves sometimes, but what best friends don't. I walked away in annoyance and went to my first class. After a few lessons, it was time for lunch. 

I went to the cafeteria and ordered my usual burger and french fry meal. I sat down at a table and waited for my friends to join me. Hailee came in and sat down with me, looked at my plate, and gave me a disgusted look.

"Really? Fries and a burger?" she said, gagging.

 "Yes, Hailee, this is what I'm eating for lunch. Is there a problem?" I said sarcastically.

 "I just think you should cut down on the junk food. It's not healthy," she pouted.

Before I could choke the living hell out of her, Tyler and Derek came to the table.

 "Hey, guys, what's up?" Tyler smiled. 

 "Hey Ty, I was just telling Vee here, that she should stop eating junk food and start eating healthier, maybe try eating a salad," she said.

 "Hails, stop," Tyler said, embarrassed. He looked at me with sorry eyes, and I nodded, signifying that it was okay.

 "What? I'm just speaking the truth!" That's what best friends do," she grabbed my hand and caressed it. I rolled my eyes, and she chuckled. 

Tyler got up to get his lunch and came back with two servings of fries. Hailee looked at him, shocked.

 "What do you think you're doing?" she questioned.

 "Eating," he said rudely. He smiled at me, and I laughed. In the corner of my eye, I could see Hailee rolling her eyes and shaking her head in disagreement. The bell rang, which meant it was time to go back to class. Later at dismissal, we said our goodbyes and went home. I was excited, for tomorrow was my party,

The following afternoon, I woke up to put everything in order, the party started at 8, so I had plenty of time, as it was only 6 p.m. I put on a white crop-top with frills and slick black jeans with black boots. I applied strawberry red lipstick on my lips and blew a kiss in my mirror. Then, I went downstairs and put decorations up everywhere, hid the breakable stuff in the garage, and put a large speaker in the living room. After I had finished, I checked the clock, seven-fifty-two was the time. I had waited for about six minutes until I heard knocking on my door; it was Hailee and Tyler.

 "Hey, guys!" I said.

 "Hey," Tyler answered. He was about to hug me until Hailee intercepted and barged her way through the door.

 "What's her problem?" I whispered. Tyler shrugged and shook his head.

We all sat down and talked for a while. Later, Derek comes downstairs. 

 "Hey, he said groggily. It sounded like he had awoken from a nap.

 "Hey, the party's going to start any minute, we're just waiting for the rest of the people. Derek nodded and sat down with us. Within a few minutes, there was a knock at the door.

 "Party time, Hailee squealed.

I opened the door, and a crowd of people was at the door. It was loud in a matter of seconds; people we're conversing, playing music, drinking, it was wild. 

 "I'm gonna get a drink, do you want anything?" Tyler asked. 

 "No, I'm fine," I assured him. 

 "Okay, I'm gonna scatter," he grinned and walked away.

 "Have fun," I grinned.

I slouched in my seat, Hailee got up and went to the kitchen to hang with her other friends while Derek went back upstairs. I decided to have a bit of fun before I did my spying. I got up and talked to my classmates.

{Hailee's POV}

I got a bottle of beer and took a sip of it, I needed to be buzzed to at least enjoy this party. The only reason I came to this is because I had nothing else better to do and I wanted to see Derek. He and I have been messing around for months now and I knew Vanessa was onto us, but I didn't care, I longed for Derek, his light brown eyes, fluffy hair, and his body made me melt. I noticed he had gone back upstairs so I decided to follow him. I made my way upstairs and I went into his bedroom.

 "Hi," I said.

 "What are you doing up here? You know she's downstai--"

 "I don't care," I interrupted. 

 "Vanessa's gonna kill us," Derek said.

"As I said, I. Don't. Care." I pushed my body against him and pressed his lips on mine, I could smell his breath on mine and it made me shiver. Oh, god.
