Chapter Six

Athen and Hugo was witnessing monstrousity, they were helpless, they could just watch the girl suffer without doing anything, "What should we do" said Athen who was now crying for being helpless, "We should wait" said Hugo quietly. 

"Tomorrow you both will be killed and fed to the dogs" said leader as he went to his resting place, the little girl's cry was being heard as every Barbarian raped her, the Barbarians didn't killed the girl after raping her multiple times they put her back in cage naked covered with blood, Athen tried to talk with the girl but the girl had gone in shock she wouldn't hear or speak anything. Athen wanted to kill Barbarians and make peace for her and her family.

It was night, Hugo till now was thinking about plan of getting out of there, Hugo waited for barbarians to fell asleep, "It's time now" whispered Hugo to Athen, Athen looked around and noticed everyone to be sleeping, Hugo had a knife under his wrist armour, he couldn't use it in front of barbarians, Hugo cut of his ropes and went to cut Athen's rope as well, both of them was free now, they knew where their weapons were kept and also they had to be careful as if to not alert any Barbarians of their presence. Athen and Hugo managed to get their weapons which was kept outside the resting place of leader.

As soon as they got hold of their weapons, Hugo and Athen both wanted vengeance, they wanted to kill Barbarians and give justice to girl and her family, Hugo decided Athen would kill the leader and he will stay outside to take on other Barbarians, Athen got inside the broken down tupik of the leader, he went close to him and got in position, Athen slowly moved his sword towards his neck but didn't wanted to give him an easy death, Athen wanted to torture him like he did to man and his wife, Athen went for the eyes he inserted his sword right in the eye of the leader, the leader cried in pain, didn't knowing what was happening, Barbarians were stunned, they didn't realized what was happening, Athen went on and cut the leader's mouth, the leader yelled for help but no one came, slowly crawling he let himself out of his tupik to see Hugo killing each and every Barbarian, Hugo was swinging his sword all around chopping of barbarian's body, Barbarians were no match for the former general of Shogo.

"Should I cut you in pieces or should I burn you to death" asked Athen looking down at leader, leader knew with the expression of Athen that the kid wasn't joking, leader tried to struggle but Athen chopped off his hand with one strike, there was blood everywhere, Hugo on the other hand was already done with killing all of barbarians, Athen looked down at the girl who was in cage, Hugo went to the girl and covered her with clothes, the girl wasn't responding to anything, Hugo told her everything is good and she is safe, but the damage was already done to her mind, the girl quickly grabbed Hugo's sword and slit her throat, Hugo couldn't stop her, the blood gushed out of her throat and she died on Hugo's arms.

Athen couldn't believe this, he considered it was his fault he couldn't help her and her family, his body was trembling in anger, he wanted to do justice, Athen looked at the leader who was slowly crawling on the ground Athen went and chopped his legs off, Athen didn't stopped at this with every strike he ripped off the leader's body and in the end chopped off his head, Athen was crying in anger, tears were flowing through his eyes, he was stabbing the dead leader continuously ripping his inside out.

"It's alright, he is dead now" said Hugo placing his hand on Athen's shoulder, it was a sight to see, blood everywhere everyone except the two warriors lying dead on ground with their body dismantled, Athen was crying in misery, only if he was strong enough he could have saved a family he thought, Hugo gave the girl and her family a proper funeral and also burnt all the Barbarians.

"We should rest for the night here and move on ahead tomorrow" said Hugo looking at the fire, Athen didn't said a word he was lost in his thoughts, Hugo knew Athen suffered a major setback because of all this, for Hugo it was normal but for Athen who was knew to such things it was a blow on his conscious, "You did your best, you couldn't have done anything else" said Hugo looking at Athen, Athen still not saying a word went to sleep, Athen was continuously thinking about the girl and her parents, Athen blamed himself for not being able to save them, Athen was devastated he was filled with anger, he realized that this world was full of evil not only Balak. Athen thought and decided he will get stronger, he will be the one to slay down all the evil and make this world a better place for everyone.

Hugo was already thinking about the plan to reach Shogo unnoticed and assassinate Balak. It has been two days since that knight saw him, Hugo knew it will take him two more days to reach Shogo, they needed to get out of this mountain and reach a safe place where Balak's army won't come for them, after thinking for sometime a smile came upon Hugo's face as if he found out solution to the problem.

Athen hearing footsteps suddenly woke up and grabbed his swords, "Hey it's me don't worry" said Hugo who was scouting the area "I have brought eggs", Athen was relieved to know it wasn't enemy he lowered his sword.

Athen was quiet than usual, Hugo could see that Athen was affected and this way he is not of any good in a fight, "Want to know about the first person I killed" said Hugo looking straight into the eyes of Athen, Athen nodded his head to yes, "It was my father" said Hugo, Athen was shook to hear this "Your own father" said Athen in shock. 

"It happened when I was just a kid" said Hugo, Hugo belonged to a village that produced warriors for the king, his dad was one of the warriors for king but his dad wasn't a good man, Hugo's father would often beat up his mother and Hugo, Hugo then told Athen how one day when his father visited them drunk and started beating his mother and forcing her to have sex, Hugo was still thirteen years old at the time, Hugo could hear his father beating his mother cruelly, Hugo told Athen how he could hear his mother begging for her life from his father, Hugo couldn't bear it anymore he grabbed his dad's sword and pushed it right through his dad's back, Hugo killed his dad to save him and his mother but the damage was done, her mother went in shock and reacted poorly by killing herself, Hugo watched his mother die since then Hugo was all alone, he trained and went to the army of Shogo where he became the General who was feared.

"Sometimes things aren't in your hands" said Hugo looking at Athen "you can't control everything around you, you have to become stronger to do so", Athen realized he needed to move forward and achieve his dream of removing evil from world. Athen looked better now he started eating his breakfast and was ready to start journey.

"We will go and see an old friend of mine, he lives just by the forest" said Hugo "It will take us one day to reach there".
