Chapter 5

Location: McGregory high school

🚩 Aiden's POV 🚩

"Aiden", Adam called me.

"What's up?", I asked.

"You said you had a problem to deal with this morning."

"Ohh. That. It's nothing serious. My sister came back yesterday and-"

"What? Your sister? You mean your twin sister?", he asked shocked.

"Adam, calm down and stop shouting. You are too nosy", Anthony said.

"Dude, didn't you hear? He said his twin sister is back."

"And?", Anthony said. "I hope you are not thinking what I think you are thinking?"

"You better don't move anywhere near my sister because I know you", I said glaring.

"Calm down dude. I won't touch your sister without your permission", Adam said smirking. "But at least show us a picture."

"I can't show you. Wait till Monday. Today is Friday so just have a little bit of patience", I said.

"Okay. If you say so", Adam said sounding defeated.

"He said so", Anthony said glaring and we all laughed.

"Hey guys. How about we hang out tomorrow. We can just go to the club. What do you say?", Adam said.

"I think I'll pass. I'm hanging out with Adrian tomorrow", I  said.

"I also have something important to do", Anthony said.

"Urgggh... Kill joy. I hate the both of you."

"It's mutual dude", I  said and Adam slapped me hard on his shoulder. "You are just sad. You'll get over it."

"Don't talk to me", Adam said playfully. "Um, by the way, did you see the new girl. She is damn hot."

"Here we go again", Anthony said raising an eyebrow.

"I'm serious. She is hot and I'm gonna make a move on her."

"You will land yourself in trouble one day", I said. "And none of us will be able to help you out of it."

"Of course you would. You guys are my best friends."

"That's if it's within our power to help you", Anthony said and I nodded. "Won't we go for lunch. I'm starving."

"Me too", I said and we went out of our private classroom.

🚩 Adrian's POV 🚩

I got home after spending half of the day out. I went to the restaurant and to the park. I guess coming home is really a good idea. After all, I'm enjoying myself. I opened the door to my room and I saw my Mum sitting on my bed and going through my paintings. 

"Hi", She said as she noticed my appearance and she stood up.

"Hi Mum."

"Can we talk?", she asked.

"Sure. Sit."

"Adrian, I'm sorry for what happened yesterday. I didn't mean to slap you. I don't know what got into me. I'm truly sorry."

"It's okay mum. I know it's not intentional and I forgive you."

"Really?"

"Yes Mum. I know you won't hurt me on purpose. I'm sorry for speaking that way to Dad. I didn't mean to annoy you."

"No. It's okay. I know you are hurt but just know that everything he did, he did it for you. He didn't want you to go through the pressure from the press."

"I know but why didn't he allow you and Aiden to come visit? Why did he lock Aiden up when he returned from France?"

"He doesn't want the press to locate you there. Anyways I beg you on his behalf. I want you to forgive your father. He loves you and I know you love him too. So please", she said almost crying.

I didn't say anything for sometime but finally I found my voice. "I'll think about it."

"Thanks a lot baby."

"I didn't say I forgive him."

"I know but that is still a start, right?"

"If you say so but why didn't you go to work."

"I wanted to talk to you and besides, your Dad travelled to Italy for business. So, I decided to take the day off."

"But that should give you more reason to go to the company."

"The company won't go bankrupt if I miss just one day. I see you haven't unpacked. I'll leave you to that", she said, patted my shoulder and went out of the room. I pulled my bag towards me and started sorting out my paintings. I sold most of them before coming here but I still have a lot. 

I started arranging the paintings in my room. I was still arranging when the door opened and Aiden walked in. "Aiden, can't you knock?"

"I'm sorry. I'm just not used to it. Can I come in?"

"You are already in", I said rolling my eyes.

"Oh! I'm I? I don't know", he said smiling.

"That's seriously not funny."

"I know. How was your day?", he asked and jumped on my bed.

"Hey! Get your feet of my bed."

"No. I won't."

"You won't? Then don't wait for me", I said and walked towards the bed.

"You can't do anything to me", he said and began jumping on the bed.

I took a pillow and hit him with it.

"Hey stop", he yelled. "Oh! I get it. You want this to turn to a pillow fight, right?", he said and picked a pillow.

"Pillow fight? No, I'm not pillow fighting you", I said giggling.

"You will."

"I won't."

"You have no choice", he said and climbed down from the bed.

I had no choice but to run down the stairs while he was running after me. We ran straight to the sitting room laughing all the way. He finally caught me by my arm and pulled me.

"I caught you. You won't run away from me", he said still holding my arm.

"Okay. I surrender but no pillow fight."

"Hmm. I'll let you go today. Come let's go to my room. I'm bored."

"But I was arranging my paintings when you came in."

"We can arrange the paintings together and we can talk."

"About what?"

"About a lot of things. Let's just go", he and we went to my room.

"Let's get started", I told him and we began the arrangements. "So tell me about your school."

"What can I say? The girls in my school are just crazy. Anytime we enter the school they are always shouting. It's always one drama after another each day."

"Why wouldn't they? You are handsome and rich", I said and winked.

"That's right. Let me tell you anything my best friends."

"I'm listening", I said still arranging the paintings.

"Anthony, the rude one. He is arrogant but trust me he is super friendly and Adam, he likes girls. He is a Casanova."

"Your friends are crazy", I said smiling.

"You bet. You are gonna meet them soon anyway. I'm sure you'll like them", he said smiling and he picked a painting. "Wow! This is me when I was little", he said and I walked over to him.

"Yes. I painted it when I was France."

"I'm so handsome", he said touching his face.

"Don't deceive yourself", I said collecting it from him and hanging it on the wall.

We were still arranging when Mum came into the room. "I'm stepping out for some minutes. I will be back before dinner. Okay?"

"Okay", we said and she walked out.

🚩 Cassie's POV 🚩

I walked to the jewelry shop to get a gift for Adrian and I saw Frank Bayler,  Karen's father.

"Well well well. Look who's here", he said smirking.

"What do you want, Frank?"

"Nothing. I just found out your daughter is  back in New York."

"And?"

"Nothing. I'm just amazed that she can still come here after killing my daughter."

"She didn't kill your daughter, Frank and you know it."

"I know nothing. All I know is that your daughter killed my daughter and you know the saying 'an eye for an eye'. Tell her to watch her back."

"Are you threatening me because if you are, I'm not afraid", I said angrily.

"Calm down, Cassie. I'm not threatening you. I'm just telling you. Bye", he said and walked away.

To be honest I was afraid. What if he does something to my daughter? I just can't allow that. I gotta protect my princess very well.
