“We were asking Mrs. Ferguson how she keeps her skin so smooth!”

Lady Cecilia coldly clicked her tongue and disdainfully glanced at Jessica, but when looking at Kim her eyes shone with approval.

“Every one of you is still so young and fair, akin to a flower in bloom. So tender that your skin is still as soft as mochi. Instead of fretting over this, why don't you spend some time picking up a skill?”

“Look at Lady Jackson here, she’s roughly your age and she can hold her ground when speaking to consul as well as organizing events and projects. You ladies should really learn from her.”

The young lady with slightly protruding ears immediately piped up, “I’ve heard from my uncle that Mr. Ferguson is preparing to enter the European market, and there was a project regarding Tourism in Spain that Mr. Ferguson really took a liking to! Was that proposal written by you, Lady Jackson?”

Kim reacted humbly and lowered her head, smiling sheepishly. “Oh you flatter me, it wasn't that impressive.”

Hearing Kim’s modesty, Lady Cecilia beamed with satisfaction. “You don't have to be so humble, we owe a great deal to you for your help. You were so busy, yet still took time out to help us.”

To Jessica, who had been idly standing by the side listening to them go back and forth, somehow knew that everything they were saying was being directed at her.

Might as well just come out and say that she’s useless eh?

Lady Cecilia stared at Jessica who had been acting carefree the whole time. Just thinking about it made her angry.

If she was aware of the situation, then get lost!

At that point, Blake walked over with wine glass in hand. He had heard the tail end of what his mother said, and seeing the gaggle of ladies all together, he more or less understood the situation.

He stood beside Jessica and softly spoke up, “Mother, regarding the Spain project, did they not inform you? There have been some changes to the project and we’re no longer moving forward with Lady Jackson’s suggestions.”

Blake then turned to Jessica. “I saw some interesting ideas on Jessica’s Weibo, and have already instructed my people to proceed with them.”

The ladies all stood there in shock, turning their heads one by one to look at Jessica.

Especially Kim, who was absolutely seething.

After the day she angered Blake and he sternly warned her of her actions again, she dared not broach the topic or even ask for updates in fear of further ruining her image. However, to think that in the end her proposal was completely overwritten!

Kim’s face turned different shades of red and green, changing like a chameleon in fury.

Blake smiled, but his eyes showed no hint of emotion. The other ladies sensed that something was amiss. They quickly found reasons to excuse themselves and scattered.

He looked straight at Kim and spoke, “Lady Jackson, thank you very much for your proposal and all the effort you gave in helping me with this project.”

Blake paused, but despite it being only two seconds, Kim felt nothing but panic, her eyes darting around, unable to meet his gaze.

All that was heard after was. “But then again, Lady Jackson, I’ve already expressed my thanks to you.”

He casually glanced at the bracelet on Kim’s wrist.

One expresses gratitude to those that deserve it and warns those that need to be reminded of their place, yet one can only hope there will not be any more fuss on the matter.

Kim Jackson very clearly felt that this time, Blake Ferguson was truly angry beyond a shadow of a doubt. When his voice grew low, one could feel it rumble until one’s breath would catch in one’s throat.
