Chapter 03

"David" I called his name and he answered back with his voice and a bit of minty air pouring over my nose.

I stretched out my hand as I felt his chest and before I could take them off, he grabbed them and kept them back on his chest.

I traced from his shoulders till I felt his face, he was indeed as close as I thought.

He kissed me and I was in shock of what he did but it was something I wished I could do with him ever since.

I kissed him back as he held me tightly to himself just for him to release me when footsteps sounds came from the stairs.

I laughed cause it was a bit funny and David laughed as well.

I wish i could see his grownup face but that just reminded me that he has a girlfriend.

I should not have kissed him even so i love him but wait... He kissed me first.

Probably flirting and I fell for it.

"So how is your girlfriend?" I asked him and he breathes out and I can already tell that something was wrong somewhere.

"David! She did not deserve to be broken by you" I said to him, getting pissed at the fact that since David was fourteen he secretly formed a habit of having girlfriends and dumbing them down the soonest.

"No Oliver this time it wasn't my fault, she actually was getting engaged in a restaurant where I went to get dinner from," he says to me and I chuckled.

"So she accepted right?" I asked and he replied with "Yes"

"It's because you are not serious" I laughed out loud and I'm sure he was frowning now.

"But you loved her right?" I asked and he replied with "No"

"So? You didn't lose anything, you didn't love her and she got engaged, you should be happy" I said and he sat next to me.

"David, what happened a few minutes between me and you was just a mistake I shouldn't have complied with," I said to him and he traced his fingers into mine and I giggled.

"Oliver I have done a lot with other girls, fake engagements, paid to date and so much but now i regret it so bad because I discovered the reason why all the relationships i joined never worked out was because I am in love with you Oliver" he says and I slapped him till he ran away from the chair.

"Oh my god, David! You are not just a bad spirit boy but a rotten bad boy" I said as I used the chair's pillow to stone him and he cries "ouch" like it had hurt him.

"David! It's me, your best friend Oliver who is now blind... which means a person unable to see physical or spiritual things of her environment and you claim to love me... Why?" I asked him to wait for a reply.

"Love is unconditional, love is not judgemental, love is the love i have for you," he says and before he could come any closer I threw a pillow at him before he would do anything crazy.

"I wonder how you can tell my exact position and throw a pillow at me... That's a kinda weird baby" he says excitedly.

"I am not your baby Oliver the playboy, you need to stop coming for visits though, my mum thinks you love me," I said to him and he chuckles.

"It's not funny David," I said to him as my hand touched what to be leather with a cloth feeling inside.

"Oh, I bought you milkshakes and some clothes," he says to me and I thanked him 

"David, I have a lot of clothes already so tell me the true reason you bought those clothes.

"They are swimming clothes actually, I want you to free the pain of your past on that beach," he says gently.

"I really want to go there so that I could meet my father but my mum would not let me go because the doctor asked her not to take me there ever again," I said to him and he holds my hands.

"I just wish I could see my dad again and thank you for believing the fantasy horrific story I told you about my dad," I said to him and I could already tell that he was smiling.

"Actually i never believed you... Like how can you say your dad was some water lord or god and that he sacrificed himself turning into the water to save you from an evil mermaid" he says and I lay my head over the seat edge as I closed my eyes about to devour him because he did not believe me all these years"

"I'm joking, to be sincere I believe you because there wasn't a trace of your dad anywhere in Nigeria so i think you need to ask your mum some questions" swiftly he advises.

"David, my mum would not let you take her out of this house, especially to the beach, because that is contradictory to what the doctor asked her to do," I said to him.

He grabbed my shoulders and I feared for what he was about to do as he leaned me into his chest for me to rest.

"I don't like seeing you all the time in this house, you eat all your foods here, you don't even have the chance to walk about, and every education you get is in here... Aren't you too beautiful to be treated like you're in prison" he says kissing my fore - head.

I loved the fact that I was in between his manly huge chest and the kisses he kept giving to me together with the praises.

"Okay, I'd follow you David but my protection must follow me anywhere I want to go," I said to him and he smiled.

"You mean your mum?" He asked of which certainly, I think it was my mum but now it is against her wish it had to be someone else.

"It's you," I said to him and he tightens his hug with a heated intense kiss over my head.
