“Mommy, Uncle promised me that you would get a good job if you apply here! Uncle would not lie to me! Good-looking people don’t lie!” Felice’s eyes sparkled with an endless sea of stars as she earnestly pledged.

Regina Young was immensely touched by her daughter’s understanding, at the same time, amused with what she had to say.

She did not know who spoke to Felice that way, but this person was indeed kind-hearted.

She did not think much about it and casually shoved the name card into her pocket.

Regina looked at her obediently endearing daughter. Her heart ached when she thought about how her daughter had to hurdle through the torment of this sickness at such a young age.

She was then suddenly reminded of the doctor’s words to her earlier.

“There is still hope, the child’s father. Immediate family members have a higher possibility of their marrows matching, and therefore a transplant.”

The child’s father? That god*mn b*stard?!

She did not even know his name. How would she find him in this haystack of people?

Regina heaved a sigh and suppressed the chaotic thoughts in her heart. She just needed to focus on earning the money. Felice’s medical expenses could not be delayed any further.

She thought about it, then gently pulled out the name card. She was stunned.

“Soaring Dragon Corporation…”

How could such a prestige company simply give out their name cards? This must be a scam…

Regina thought that she had gone crazy when she stood in front of Soaring Dragon Corporation’s building.

She ended up believing Felice’s words and came for the interview. She thought about the exorbitant medical fees and mustered the courage to walk in.

The moment she stepped into the building, she was held back by the lady receptionist.

“Miss, do you have an appointment?”

“I’m sorry, I do not have any appointment.”

“Sorry for the inconvenience, but no one is allowed to enter the building without an appointment. This is the rule.”

Regina anxiously pulled out the name card and handed it to her. “Someone told me that I can come here to apply.”

When the lady receptionist looked at the name card, her scornful eyes changed in that instant. Her attitude flipped one-hundred and eighty degrees, and talked to her respectfully.

“Please wait here for a while. I will go and verify this.”

Could this Clark Xavier be Managing Director of Soaring Dragon? Or else, why would this lady receptionist change her behavior so quickly?

Regina sat restlessly. Regrets started to seep into her heart.

This was ‘the’ Soaring Dragon Corporation. The famous leading business in the capital. How many people had cracked their brains on entering this company? How could they even set their eyes on her in the first place?

She thought that she must have gone mad to come here.

Meanwhile, the atmosphere in the conference room was tremendously tense. The intimidating aura shrouding the room made it hard for everyone to breathe. The managers from the various departments all hung their heads low, not daring to meet the eyes of the president who was chairing the meeting.

Clark Xavier’s frosty eyes scoured the room. “Is nobody going to give me an explanation?”

The temperature in the room dropped drastically. The secretary appeared at this moment and whispered a few words into Clark’s ears.

Clark was astonished. The lady had really come over?

It had been a week since the encounter in the hospital. He was about to push this whole thing to the back of his mind. He did not anticipate that she would look for him with the name card.

He had always been a man of his words. Since he made the promise, he would fulfill it. He then gave out his order to the secretary in a lowered voice.

Soon after, the lady receptionist politely came back to Regina with a radiant smile on her face.

“Good afternoon, could you please wait just a bit longer. The manager from the human resource department will soon come over.”

Regina was more confused than before. It really worked?

Later, Regina met the human resource department manager and successfully received an offer letter from the company. The program department recruited her.

Regina felt surreal as she left Soaring Dragon Corporation’s building.

This was too good to be true!

Her application really worked!

When she thought that Felice’s medical expenses would finally be affordable, Regina heaved a sigh of relief.

She was even more grateful to the man who gave Felice the name card.

She wondered what kind of man he was that he could arrange for her to enter Soaring Dragon Corporation with such ease? He even had the lady receptionist and the human resource department manager treat her differentially and respectfully.

She kept her appreciation in her heart. The next day, she woke up especially early and spent a long time in the kitchen, preparing a sumptuous lunch box.

She did not have the money to buy any presents. This was the best way she could express her gratitude.

Regina packed up her things and reached Soaring Dragon Corporation to officially start her work.

Regina was initially acting cautious on her first day of work. After all, a big company such as Soaring Dragon Corporation had many elite talents. She was just an insignificant person working as a lowly staff.

She did not anticipate that her fellow colleagues would be unexpectedly friendly toward her.

Regina was calmed by the encouraging atmosphere.

Soon, it was lunch time. Regina politely turned down her colleagues’ offers to eat lunch together. She then quietly looked for the human resource department manager.

“Um, Manager Graham, could you help me send this to him?”

Casey Graham hesitated. “Who?”

“Why, Clark Xavier of course.”
