*CH*6*CHANGE OF PLANS*

  My screams bounced off the walls as i destroyed everything in my path, everything i touched. I had failed, i had been waiting almost all my life for the perfect mission, then i was given the most important mission of all time and I failed woefully , how was i supposed to face the chief, i thought for sure that I was going to die, I had been trained to be the perfect killing machine but today i would be one to be killed and with that realization ,I calmed down. At this point ,anger was going to solve none of my problems,the only thing i could do now was just pray that mother nature would take me back with open arms.

       As my head was clouded with different thoughts, the twin doors in front of me gave way and in walked the chief, his face held up high, his head bald, his brown eyes and his thin lips gave no trace of emotion, he was a very old man but he looked good for an old man, not that he didn't look old, he did ,the crow legs on the sides of his eyes would tell you so, he had aged but he aged well, he still had huge muscles and there was not a sagged skin in sight, he was very wise and very cunning,he was always one step ahead,it was impossible to fool him and right now , although you couldn't tell what his emotions were, his aura gave off a great dose of anger and he was going to lash out any minute from now.

   He walked to the middle of the room and just stopped, then he took out right hand and pointed it at me and I could feel my insides turning to liquid,I couldn't control it, I fell to the floor and started vomiting blood, I throat was closing and opening, threatening to shut down for good, I couldn't breathe, my hand grasping at my throat, I didn't know how to beg for air, I needed to breathe, I could feel my body shutting down, my muscles were going limp, my eyes were threatening to shut.

      'Sweet mother nature, just kill me already'

All of a sudden it stopped, my hand still at my throat, I couldn't stop my hand from traveling around my body and back, I needed to make sure that everything was as it should, I rose my head to look at the chief, his face was still stoic.

      "Stand up."

Despite of my shock, I pulled myself together and stood, my stance perfect.

     'It seems the chief doesn't want to kill me but wants to cause enough pain to make sure that his message is passed across and I've gotten it, he is very upset and he doesn't want it to happen again, in other words, no more mistakes. I got his message, loud and clear, but I still must be prepared for anything.'

So I waited and waited but nothing, he said nothing and he did nothing ,he just stood there and looked at me, I could almost have sworn that we stood like that, looking at each other for thirty solid minutes.

     "You had one job and you blew it." He finally spoke.

     "I am aware chief, the situation was rather unexpected." I replied, mirroring his signature look, no emotion on my face. 

     "You should have found a way to deal with it, you are the general of our elite warriors, you are a witch soldier, excellent in the skill of witch craft and unparalleled by any other soldier here in your combat skills,you have come a very long way from the child who stumbled into my quarters and I gave you one mission, one mission that could determine the fate of us all and you failed, does that speak well of you General?"

     "No, it does not Chief. I apologise for my failure."

     "You apologise? , I would have thought you'd have learnt a thing or two from me by now, apologies get you no where. Tell me General, if someone betrays the coven, when said person is caught and apologises for his crimes, would you accept his apologies and let him go free or would you honour Justice and let him rot for his crimes?"

      "He would pay for his crimes."

       "Good ,very good General."

        "So,you understand why I did what I did to you upon my entry into this room."

         "Yes chief."

         "Now,tell me ,why did your mission go south?"

          "I was about to kill the girl when she was teleported."

          "Teleported? You mean it was a witch?"

          "Yes sir."

          "Was the witch within the vicinity of house?"

          "No, I couldn't sense the aura of the witch."

           "Could you feel the energy of the witch?"

           "Yes ,it felt dark, cold, lonely, I don't know how to explain it."

             "Hmmmm....From your explanation,I could assume that the witch is cursed and also an outcast, the witch would've been banned from the coven, but I need more information, we know the witch is cursed but hundreds and thousands of witches have been cursed, I need some details, some thing linking the curse and the witch , each curse given is as a result of the crime committed and the emotions of the witch at the time it was committed."

       "How am I supposed to get that kind of information?"

       "I didn't say that I was going to assign you to get that information."

       "So then ,I assume someone else will be assigned to take over my mission."

       "I never said that either, after your failed attempt to kill the girl, what was your next step of action?"

       "I used a dark spell."

       "You performed dark magic,why?"

        "Because I planned to erase her memories to put others in it's place,  at least to make her think that nothing had  happened, I also planned to put the mission of killing Horex in her mind as she is the only one who can get close enough to kill him but I was too far from her at the time, so the only other way was to perform dark magic, I tried to suck the memories out of her but something stopped me.......I can't explain it, but it didn't come from the girl, it also wasn't the same energy from earlier,this one was different, it was dark but....warm."

    "So, all your efforts were thwarted by adversaries none of us know , we don't know the which who stopped you the first time and we don't even know if the person that stopped you the second time was a vampire or a witch. Okay, is there anything else I need to know?."

    "No Chief."

    "I will assign Akinola and Esther to assist you on this mission, you must find out who the people are that thwarted your mission and you must capture them, we cannot have an uprising now, we have come too far, I will not let all we have worked for ,go to waste."

      "Okay Chief, but what about the girl, what do we do about her?"

      "Leave that to me , I have an idea , it's pushing my luck but you never know."

He smiled, he actually smiled, no wait, that's not smiling, he smirked , I do not want to know what that man is thinking, sometimes he scares even me.

      "Chief, if I may ask, what exactly is your....idea?"

      "Well General, let's just say that there's been a change of plans."

Then the biggest smile grew on his face. 

     'Now ,I was seriously freaking out.'
