*CH*1*MISTAKES*

    "Mofe!!!!"

I jolted awake, my head was spinning and sweat was pouring down my body, sweat was literally pouring but I paid no mind to it when I should have, Mistake number 1.

             "Eww.." I was disgusted by the sight of myself and the odor of my sweat. As I put my legs on the floor and stood up, I felt a sharp pain go through my forehead then all of  a sudden it stops and I should have suspected there was something wrong but I didn't and that was mistake number 2.

  I walked to the bathroom and as I got close to the mirror ,I suddenly felt 'needy' which had never happened before and I was in the university, I turned to look at myself in the mirror and what I saw was absolutely absurd , I saw two purple and glowing dots on each side of my neck, I gasped in shock, then I blinked and it was just gone , the needy feeling and the purple dots, they were just gone and although I knew that it wasn't normal I decided to ignore it and chalked it up to the many drinks I had the night before.

   I carried on with freshening up and took a nice warm shower, when I was done I stretched my hand to get my towel but I couldn't reach it , which was weird because my towel rack was always one foot away from the shower but it seemed like a mile away today, nevertheless,I kept stretching to get my towel but I ended up falling on my face due to the slippery floor, luckily i put my hands out quickly to protect my face from the fall.

      "Ugh.....today is not my day at all"

     "Mofe!!!!!!!, Have you forgotten that you have classes today?" My mum yelled out to me from the parlour obviously, if she was upstairs she'd have just come to my room but I wondered why mum just chose that day of all days to frustrate me ,especially because I was seeing things.

      "I'm coming mum!!!!" I yelled back, God, I could not wait for the day that I would finally graduate so that I could do what I wanted without her hanging on my neck.

         I got up from the floor, got my towel and proceeded to my bedroom to clean up, which I successfully did without any more mishaps, I put on my favourite black jeans, no rips and a random black round necked T-shirt. My hair was weaved to the back, it had been like that for the past one week and it was still neat, so I didn't fret about it, I picked up my bag, locked my room door and went downstairs. The first thing I saw was the face of my very angry mother sitting at one of the heads of the dining table, my father opposite her at the other head, looking quite smug while eating, I loved that man, my little brothers 'Taiwo and Kehinde' , laughing and eating without a care in the world and my older brother 'Idris' who I hadn't seen in years because he has had his whole life in the military since I was in primary school.

      "Mofe!, what is wrong with you? Why did you waste time getting down here, I know you woke up late, why won't that happen when you'll be wasting your life partying up and down because you cannot sit down in one place, one day you will regret this lifestyle of yours but that one is not my business, but if you ever fail in school and bring nonsense result to this house ,that is when I will kill you, second class upper is a failure o, if you don't know, nothing less than first class and you can frolic around all you want, am I clear?"

     My mum always insists on making me feel like shit, I know what she wants and I'm doing all this for her, I'm studying medicine for her,I work my ass off in school for her but she doesn't care, she has never cared about what I want even.

     "I said am I clear!!"she loudly repeated.

      "Margaret stop chastising her, what is your problem with her, she always attends classes, she gets amazing grades, always coming out top of her class, she's studying medicine because of you , what else do you want? A perfect daughter? , she's never going to be perfect because she's human and I love her like that, you should too. Mofe, go and take your food from the kitchen,don't mind this woman."

    This is why I loved my Dad so much, he always protected me and he was so supportive, I couldn't have asked for a better father.

       "Thank you so much Dad" I walked to him and I kissed him on the head. 

         " I'll be going now, I don't really have much of an appetite anymore, goodbye everyone" 

Then I turned my back and left, Once I was out the door, I got the worst feeling of dread, it overcame me, and it felt like i was saying goodbye to my family, like it was the final goodbye ,I turned back to face the door, put my hand on the knob to turn it and open the door but something stopped me, it felt like I was no longer in control of my own body.

       'what in the world is going on?'

      I got scared and I tried pulling my hand away but nothing worked, I kept pulling and pulling, at some point, I swear I heard something crack ,like I had dislocated my arm. Then, from absolutely nowhere , the most powerful breeze I had ever felt hit me and my hand finally left the knob, unfortunately I was standing firm when my hand left the knob, plus the powerful breeze ,and the next thing I knew,I was flying across the compound,my arms flying in front of me,trying to take hold of something, anything , but there was nothing to hold and I roughly landed on the stoney ground, my head hit the gate violently and I could see stars, I could feel my eyes closing, darkness surrounding me, I used all my might to raise my bruised arm to take my head, as I brought it to my eyes, I could see blood, I wanted to cry but I couldn't even cry, I was too weak, before my eyes finally gave up, I could vaguely make out a figure that was walking towards me.
