''Ms. Green'' Mr. Carter spoke to me as I clear out all the used paper cups and mugs for the meeting. Everyone started exiting the conference room now.

''Mr. Carter, did you need anything?'' the tray I was holding is now filled with used utensils.

''Let me help you with that''

''Mr. Carter, you'll ruin your suit'' I protested but he already took the tray from my hands. It wasn't my job to clear out all these things but I want to help Angie.

''It's just a suit, Ms. Green'' he said as I followed him with a few remaining cups in my hand.

''Oh'' was all I could utter. I never expected Mr. Carter to be this kind to employees like me. ''Thank you.''

''Anytime'' he dusted his hand and I smiled in awe at how handsome he was in close up. ''Call me Evan.''

''Uhm... Call me Ren then, Evan.'' His name rolled off my tongue and I liked the sound of it.

He smiled at me and I swear I died at that moment. ''Ren'' he uttered my name, one syllable that made my heart do summersault. ''So, I'll be seeing you in Milan?'' I nod as I walked him to Mr. Mávros' office. ''Are you excited?''

''A little'' I answered gleefully. ''It's the first time Mr. Mávros is tagging me along on his business trip.''

He huffed as we closed into Mr. Mávros's office ''if you were my P.A. I'd bring you anywhere with me.''

There was a lot of promise in his words but I knew that I wasn't his type either. He and his best friend are both bachelor playboys of New York City who dates models and business socialites. I'm lucky he was even talking to me about stuff not related to work.

''Uhm. I'll leave you now, Evan.'' I said as I turn around to walk to my office but his hand was quick to hold my wrist, stopping me on my steps. That simple touch of his skin on mine sends shivers all over my heart. ''Did you need anything else?''

He let go of my hand and scratched the back of his neck. ''I'd like to ask you out for lunch, Ren.''

What? My heart was jumping up and down right now on the trampoline of my chest. ''That would be nice but I can't right now. I need to finish a lot of paper works for Mr. Mávros.''

''Yeah, sure. You have my number right? Just inform me whenever your free, I'm sure I can make time for you.'' He said before pushing Mr. Mávros's door office open.

''Sure'' I said as make a step back for my office. As soon as I closed my office door, I shrieked like a hormonal teenager.

Shit! Shit! Shit!

He just asked me out for lunch. Evan Carter just asked me out for lunch. I pinched my arm if I wasn't dreaming and the red mark my fingers left on my skin was proof that it really happened. I called Coleen's office and she was ecstatic. She was the only one who knew about my little crush for Mr. Carter and she immediately ran down to my office for lunch.

''He said that?'' she whispered-yell as we ate our lunch at the cafeteria. Jeremey and Marie are having lunch out with their respective departments and I was glad for that because if they were here, they'd be grilling me for details just like Coleen.

''Yeah'' I knew my cheeks were still flushed and Coleen squealed in excitement.

''That's so exciting. When are you going out with him?'' I told her my response to Evan earlier and she pinched my arms, harder than I did to myself. ''Why did you decline, Ren? That's your chance to get laid.''

''What?!'' she did not just say that. ''I wouldn't put it that way Coleen, he just wants to eat food. Not me.''

Coleen rolled her eyes theatrically ''don't be stupid, Ren. He only noticed you after you changed your appearance. Of course, he wants to get under your pants.''

What my friend said was true. I've known Mr. Carter since I started working here and her words are spot on. It hurt my feelings to know that he just saw me because of my looks but I have to face reality so I wouldn't hurt myself again.

''Your right.''

''Oh'' she draped her arms around my shoulder ''don't feel bad, Ren. I'm just stating facts here.''

Heaving a sigh ''I know. And thank you for that.''

Evan Carter, erased on my heart. Good thing I have Coleen who kept me grounded with my soaring high crush on him. It isn't good that I'm becoming desperate in my love life. Work is all I have right now and I need to focus on it. Having crushes would only be a distraction for me and I don't need that right now. Right?
