Chapter 7: Turn Sides

Roars of cheer came from the crowd as shout the name of the victor.

Even though it was a quick fight, it was very intense that they all enjoy watching it.

Those people in the neighborhood wanted to raise a complaint but the people in the streets are overwhelming that the only thing they could do is to call the police.

The police are just around the corner so one must run away to not get caught.

One among the crowd, the sub-leader from earlier gives a quick order to everyone. By looks at his appearance, it seems like he's also one of the victims from the dog stampede. He's a tough one.

"Alright! The fight is done so everyone dispersed before the police arrive!"

His voice is loud enough to be heard by the loud crowd that they quickly retreat to the darkness.

As expected from the thugs they are all experienced in running away as almost all of them are gone from sight.

The only ones who didn't leave were Leo, and his group consists of four members from earlier.

Leo sat beside unconscious Mike while panting heavily from their fight.

Staring at Mike and smiled, he said; "Can't believe I almost get cornered by this kid. Talk about an intense fight."

He acknowledges his enemy, maybe because this is his first time-fighting, someone, in the same ground or this is his first time fighting that didn't mock him.

(Uh... I do get mocked but I think that kid just use his head to find a way to recover himself from that time.) Or this might be his first time someone using brains on him instead of a head-on fight. Either way, this is his first-time experience.

Looking at the night sky Leo falls into his deep thoughts.

"Leo, you okay?" Someone from the four the didn't leave interrupts his thoughts.

Not minding the interruption Leo wave his hand and replied; Yeah, I'm okay. Like you guess his weakness is fighting head-on that even Daniel can't handle him."

"Hahaha. He was full of himself he deserved it." From the conversation of the two people, a certain guy interrupted their conversation with a mocking tone. He's the guy among the five who talks to Daniel earlier. By the looks of it, he's the only one who's not actually part of this group.

Hearing his friends getting trash talk Leo felt annoyed but because he's exhausted from the fight he let him aside for now. He let it aside but he's eyes are glaring like it saying; (Deal or not, don't fucking bad word my group again.)

The mocking guy shivers as he takes a one-step-back away from Leo. His face is calm but it's clear that he's scared.

"We did what you ask for, Carlo. The deal is a deal."  Even Leo is exhausted he didn't forget the certain deal they made to the mocking guy- Carlo.

"I know, I know. With you beating this brat into pulp the rumors would spread pretty quickly and the title of you being the strongest here will be known immediately. Just leave it to me."

"I'm looking forward to it." Leo grins in excitement looking forward to the fame he will get in the future.

"Well then, don't mind me," said Carlo as he walks straight to Leo.

"???" Leo doesn't know what he's but somehow he feels that this guy Carlo has bad intention in mind.

Ignoring Leo, he straight up to grabs Mike who's unconscious.

But he's hand stopped by the great force that holding his wrist. Leo realized what Carlo wants as he refrains him from doing it.

"Oy... What are you doing?" Asked by Leo who is still confused and wanted a direct answer from Carlo.

"Up until now, we didn't manage to catch this brat. And now he's there lying down unconscious. Declaring war to all gangs around the city as he makes fun of us, I want to beat this brat so badly!-- AH!? What are you doing this is not what we agreed for!"

His face about to turn into a sadistic smile as he imagines the things that he will do to Mike but he got interrupted by Leo by squeezing his wrist to the point that it's about to crush in pain.

"I'm sorry but the kid had his enough, any beating further than this our deal will be cut off. It will be overkill if you beat him even he's unconscious."

"Hey. Don't give me that shit, Leo."

Having enough of Leo's bullshitery Carlo punch straight to his face without warning.

But Leo completely read Carlo's action as he twisted his hand to stop his punch half-way.

"ARGH!!" Carlo scream in groaning pain, hearing his scream thugs in the vincity quickly came towards the source. Without hesitating they knew that it's their boss's voice even from the distance.

"Oy, boss!"

The thugs quickly knew the situation and attack Leo who is still sitting beside Mike.

Of course, Leo who knows martial arts and has to sharpen his fighting prowess cleanly beat the incoming thugs without a sweat. One said that he's the strongest but from Mike's speech earlier it showed that Leo is the weakest among his fellow martial arts user. Just imagine what the rest of his mates would do makes one's spine shiver.

Releasing his grip, Leo carries Carlo up in the air with his two hands and using his weight to throw him towards the beaten thugs.

Carlo and the thugs stumbled to the ground. Leo didn't give a care what happened to them as he minds his business beating the thugs that are coming in every direction. Luckily, only the remnants of the group are left for Leo to managed.

However, even he's the strongest as he defeats Mike who's called to be undefeatable he can't handle many opponents at once.  From his blindspot a thug sneak behind him and about to hit him with a metal pipe straight to his head.

Just when the thug with a pipe was about to hit him...it was interrupted by a great force hitting his jaw making him fall into the ground realizing his grip from the pipe.

The thing that hit him is a small rock that flew in such high speed and precision in this dim street under the night sky. There's only one person who can do that among them.

(Daniel!)

Leo knew who it was and immediately trust his back to him without a thought.

Not only Leo, and Daniel are fighting but even the other two of the five people are here are fighting along with them.

They are four members, to begin with. Not counting Carlo because he just joined them temporarily for the deal they made last day.

Showing their years of bonding together they perform flawless teamwork that the thugs can't even stand against them.

Carlo look carefully around and saw his whole team are fighting along with him.

He didn't actually think that they would join the fray because this was just a sudden change of him to protect the kid. Having seen them already join he just can't let them take all the glory and orders his team to attack once more.

"I can't believe we're fighting just because of that kid."

"Shut up. I have a heart too you know."

"You guys better focus on fighting than talking, or else we might not come back home today."

"That shitty brat didn't hold back swinging that bat into me yet here I am protecting him!"

As they do have a simple conversation they beat thugs that comes left and right with ease only having a little sweat drops from their skin.

They are what you called a perfect team of four but if the enemy's reinforcements arrive it will be too many for them to hold it back.

And just when they are about to get cornered, two certain figures appeared from the dark running straight to Mike trying to ignore the four.

Leo saw the two and immediately block them away from unconscious Mike. He thought that they're thugs but by looking at their appearance it doesn't seem like it.

But even with that he still can't lower his guard.

"I don't know about you guys but you go away or else you'll get hurt."

"If you want to beat this defenseless kid, you need to face my fist first." said in an intimidating manner.

One of those two figures who tried to run straight to Mike is Ray and he's panicking about what will he do in this situation.

(WAHWAHWAHWAHWAHWAH!?!?!?)

He even realizes just now that they are in the middle of a fight.

Ray looks at the girl who's beside him as he asks for help.

But the girl is just silent not uttering a single word... ignoring the four and Ray and only staring at Mike.

Looking at the girl carefully, she looks frail and small.

White skin, not muscular nor skinny, pink lip, black eyes, and her dazzling black long hair that shines even in the dark.

She somehow looks familiar if one would have say.

The girl did not show any sign of talking as she forces her way to Mike.

Leo grabs her shoulder to push him away and give him the last warning but before he knows it he's already lying on the ground as his world turns upside down in an instant.

As someone who's trained to learn fighting he doesn't have any idea what just happened.

A single petite girl pinned him down to the ground easily as that.

"!?" Ray is surprised at her action and he was frozen from fear as he just watches the girl walk to Mike.

(That move and this eerie feeling, it's like what Mike had done earlier.) Swallowing his saliva he promises himself to never touch this girl.

No matter how high power you are or fast you are... the scene that just happened can't be explained through words alone.

Who is this girl?

Why this girl is trying to get near Mike?

Did Mike know this girl?

If it's true, then how did they know each other? How long?

Questions filled once again to Ray's head as it was about to burst in heat.

The girl quietly sits next to Mike and patted his head.

"Geez... Just how many times you need me to save your butt until you learn?" The girl gently whispers that no one heard her voice.

Ray regained his thoughts as he also walks toward Mike and the girl. At least he knew that this girl is not as terrifying as he gently patted Mike's head.

"Wah... He has too many wounds all over his body," first time seeing a wound in this level makes him take a step back a little but he proceeds to walk forward again after calming down.

Like the last time, his injuries are also deep but Ray didn't know anything about that.

"Don't worry he'll be fine. Please take care Mike for now." said the girl with a gentle voice releasing her hand off from Mike. She entrusted Mike to Ray as she stands up and looks at Leo who just recovered from getting beaten and started walking towards them. Having a team he trust them that they can handle the situation without him for seconds.

The Three are still busy fighting but they saw the scene that happened, even they didn't what happened. At least they knew that this girl is not an enemy, they are thankful that this girl is on their side, one of the three sighed in relief.

"Those guys are the cause, right? Then let me help," Her tone is gentle yet her fragile face shows an intimidating aura.

They all felt scared in a moment when they saw her but they accepted her request at the end. (Like they got no choice.)

This fight, is nothing like a sportsmanship atmosphere from earlier, if one would describe it's more like a brawl.

Being unconscious in the midst of shitty things happening, Mike curls up his mouth as he having a great dream.
