Chapter Three
Author: Maria23rd December, 1998
Lana Rawlings, dark haired just like her father was tall and very pretty. At sixteen years of age, she was in her first year in senior high school.
Though most people referred to her as the "first daughter", she didn't know the significance until she got older. Her relationship with her friends became strained all in the name of protecting her. If only they knew how much she hated it.
Sometimes, she wished she could be allowed to go out, have fun with her friends, party just like teenagers do but she knew her father was not going to allow it. It was like a dream come true when her father informed her that she would be attending the Christmas party she's been invited to, at least it would give her an opportunity to make some friends.
"Dad is just too protective, I'm not a baby anymore" she muttered
Her thoughts were disturbed by a light knock on her door.
"Come in".
"Good morning honey. Did you sleep well?" First lady Samantha said.
"Yes mum, I did"Lana said, giving her mother a beautiful smile.
"Darling, I was worried a bit because you woke up quite late. Its past ten already".
"Is it, wow time flies" Lana said.
"Yes dear, so go brush your teeth and come have breakfast" her mum said.
"OK mum, lord knows I'm starved".
"I'll be downstairs" first lady Samantha said before making her way out of the room.

"Where's dad? I haven't seen him this morning" Lana asked, munching on her breakfast.
"He's still upstairs, he has the rest of the week off".
"Oh ok, he's been working so hard".
"Yes.He's had a really stressful week, barely sleeping and all".
"Yeah, it ain't easy to be a president".
"That reminds me. Lana, honey we'll get your party clothes tomorrow and I wasn't sure which colour you'd prefer; Blue or purple?."
"Purple mom, always purple" Lana said, smiling with cheeks stuffed with food.
"I thought as much, hurry up with your food so we'll go get your shoes today"her mum said while tapping her phone.
"Mum don't bother about shoes, I've got over a hundred pairs I haven't even used".
"That's a little bit of an exaggeration don't you think" her mum said.
"Well its kind of accurate" Lana said.
"Ok, I guess you'll make do with the ones you have right?".
"Yes they are perfect" lana said, while clearing her plates.
"Alright, now you've finished, what would you like to do today".
"I'll just go upstairs, maybe read a little".
"Oh no young lady, you're going out with me today".
"Really, thanks mum" she said, grinning from ear to ear."so where are we going".
"You choose"her mum said,smiling.
"I'll like to go to the cinema".
"Oh Lana, you know we can easily watch whatever movie we want here".
"Mum, I want to watch it with people other than you and dad, I'm never allowed to go out. Its not fair" she pouted.
"Alright honey, go get dressed. The cinema it is".
"Really, thanks mum. You're the best" she said, while rushing upstairs to go get ready.
"You're welcome honey. I'll be waiting" her mum said.
With a joyful heart she got ready, unaware of the disaster approaching.

Bloody Christmas Chapter Forty one
27th January, 1999The Safe HouseLanaHome felt so good, so relaxing and so at peace. I've never felt so at ease in a long time. The clock above me struck 8 as I lazily got out of bed, heading to the bathroom to do my business. When I was done, I made my way downstairs as the pleasant smell of bacon wasfted in. On getting to the kitchen, I met mum and dad on the kitchen island, drinking steamy coffee. "Morning mom, dad" I beamed, so happy to see my parents. "Morning honey. Did you sleep well?", mum said, smiling as she handed me a cup of tea. " Yes", I said.I turned to face my dad but the look in his eyes told me that something was very wrong. "Dad, what's wrong?", I asked, setting my tea cup aside. He looked everywhere else, avoiding my eyes altogether as his gaze fi
Bloody Christmas Chapter Forty
26th January, 1999Undisclosed locationJoel "Has Gregor received the money?", I asked, facing Lionel who was acting a bit awquard at the moment. I didn't know the deal with him or what his problem was. " Yes boss", he said, a bit nervous.I sighed, knowing I'll have to find out one way or the other. "Lionel, what's the matter?".He was a bit startled, surprised that I asked after his well being. "Its nothing boss. I'm fine", he said.I sighed, yet again. He was hiding something that I'm sure of. This behavior of Lionel's was very strange and disturbing. This is not the Lionel I know, the boy I trained singlehandedly. I had no idea where this attitude and nervousness was coming from but I couldn't dwell on that, there was work to do. A whole lot to do so he better get his shit together or face my wrath.
Bloody Christmas Chapter Thirty Nine
25th January, 1999(evening)The Safe HouseFreddie RawlingsI can't believe she's back. My daughter is finally home. This morning, a hooded figure accompanied her to a spot very close to the safe house. I was confused as to how they knew where the safe house was located, seems like Joel knows everything going on around him. I wouldn't put it pass him to even know where my extended family lives.Lana arrived in a black van with a bunch of JG's goons, talk about typical cliché. They dropped her off with one of the secret service agents who then brought her home. I still wasn't allowed to go out until after my trial. When I saw her, I was a bit surprised that she was looking somewhat healthy. Apart from a few scratches here and there, she was actually fine. I would forever remember the joy on Samantha's face when she saw Lana, the tears of joy streaming down her eyes as she held her in a crushing embrace. I could tell from the look on her face that sh

25th January, 1999Undisclosed LocationLanaI'm free. That's the first thought that came to my mind immediately I woke up this morning. I could feel it. Today makes it one month exactly since I was kidnapped, a month of tears, anger and sadness. At a point, I didn't even know if I'll be released.Joel sure surprised me when he told me that I'll be going home. That came as a shock, a big one at that. Stretching my tired limbs, I stared at the window looking at the sun which had come up so early. Today was going to be a good day, I was sure about this. There was a light knock on my door. It could either be Joel or one of his goons. I wasn't ready to face them yet. Damn! I'm still in my pyjamas. Rushing to my feet, I quickly made my way to the bathroom, splashing water on my tired face. I quickly made my way to the door. Throwing it open, I came face to face with Lionel. Ok... I didn't expect him to be here this early. The memories of our last encou

24th January, 1999(evening)The safe HousePresident Freddie RawlingsIts been two days since Matt announced my impeachment. Two days of terror. Currently, Samantha and I were at a safe house after we were told to leave the white house.Looking back, I really missed the house with all the memories that was formed. I missed my office, missed the kitchen and the cute little coffee maker that was a life saver. Hell, I even missed some of the secret service agents. Now, we were only assigned two.The events that took place at the Congress yesterday was still fresh on my mind. The utter fear I felt, standing in front of all those people, the hate in their eyes as they stared at me with disgust. Already, I could tell that they had judged me with their eyes. Each hate filled whisper I got broke my heart the more as I was being ushered in. I was like a lamb being led to the slaughter house, feeling the penetrating gaze on my back.I had been impeach

24th January, 1999Undisclosed locationLanaI've been locked up here for a week now. I've had little to no contact with Joel or Lionel. Heck, I didn't even know what was going on in the outside world. I was being treated as a leper, everyone completely forgetting about me. Except for the occasional meals that one of JG's goons bring to me, I've been pretty much alone. Not once nor twice have I tried breaking out of this damp cellar, it was impossible. It felt like it was guarded by an unseen force. The wait was beginning to get overwhelming especially if you've got no news about what's going on. A noise drifted into my thoughts followed by heavy footsteps making its way to the door. That's odd, it wasn't yet time for my usual meals. Moreover, the footsteps sounded like it belonged to two people. The door soon opened, revealing two of JG's goons. I scrambled to my feet out of fear and shock because I didn't know what to expect. I had no idea
