2: Brutally Broken

Prudence's POV

I was terrified all the time. I couldn't go on like this , I was afraid of my own shadow. I heard a noise down stairs and I knew my step dad was home once again. Am very sure he's drunk but the thing is that l am very hungry but I can't go down stairs because he would probably do something crazy with me.

He would surely find a reason to hit me. I really don't know why my mother had married him. Like what had she seen in him? I don't know why I asked that question, because I already knew  the answer, he was rich and my mother needed the money. 

My dad died when I was ten, in a plane crash on his way back home just to give I and my mom a surprise visit for my ten years birthday.

I know what you're thinking and yes he died on my birthday.

So after his sudden death things were really hard for us and we stared having money issues. My mother had to do something in order for us to get by,so 5 years later she married Rex, she didn't love him and he didn't love her either.  I am actually 18 as at now , adult loving like a child.

Thinking about my mother she has gone to work earlier but she's a nurse and might not come back home until morning, she's always on a night shift , am left with my abusive step father works from home and frequently goes to the bar to get himself drunk

I was laying comfortably on my soft bed ,when I heard a knock on my door. I opened the door and to my surprise I saw my step dad.

"Rex , what are you doing in my room by this time of the night , what do you want and why are you disturbing my peace , well, ain't surprised any longer it's obvious that you're dtunk"I sounded very rude

"How many times will I repeat myself that you should never call me by my name , if you can call me dad just use normal formality like 'sir' , you're such a rude and pathetic girl, why are you being so redundant" he said as he held my shoulders tight while correcting me.

"Did I hear you say 'I, prudence Mirian kayne' should call you dad, if it isn't sounding irritating to you , it is so gross to my hearing, someone like you don't deserve to be called  dad". I said in defense

"Young ladies , I didn't come here to come and argue formalities to you, you can see , am really turned on"I points to his trousers while liked like he's really aroused" and that useless mother of yours is not hear to help me calm my nerves, so I'll like to use you as an improvisation since your mother don't seem to be around.

I feel very irritated and afraid at the same time that it's like that he rapes me tonight .

"I am very sure you're high right now, let me leave you here to continue to talk rubbish " 

I tried moving away from him, I struggled with him , l begged him, l even tried pushing him but he was too strong for me to overcome.

"I am not joking now get on the bed" he said in a very loud, commanding and stout voice.

I didn't respond and then I tried to escape on more time, but he carries me with his strong arms and throw me on the bed.

Right now , am panting heavily and I don't even know what to do .

He came towards and the said.

"Remove your dress right now before I do just that for you" I ignore him instead I was shouting and abusing him.

"You useless,good for nothing man, Buffon, drunken, idiot, stupid , Imbecile , fool, jerk, leave me alone , get out , some body help me, leave me alone , leave my room leave this environment, I hate you man, go , don't ruin my life, get out"I screamed my lungs at him just to chase him out of the room because that's the only thing I could think of at this particular situation that have  am in.

"Don't bother killing yourself, this house and room is is sound proof so no body can hear your fries except the person is in the family room, now, since you've refused to pull off your clothes yourself I'll help you"he move closer to me and the next action I took was to kick him in his manhood, but unfortunately he was too strong to be weakened by my move, I was so exhausted and at the same time dissapointed, he hovered on me  ,he then tore my dress off my body, and then inserted a protective sheet on his manhood then before I knew what was happening, I was disvirgined by my own step father

"I told you yo give your slutty body to me with ease but you refuse , now you've learnt your lesson in a hard way never to be disobedient" he says with anger, as he barged out of my room.

The tear kept falling off my innocent face and I couldn't stop it. I screamed and cried the tears of defeat. I laid my head on my pillow soaked with my own tears till I dozed off.

A very bright ray of the sun peaks through my eyes as I wake up from my sorrowful slumber. My nose perceived the aroma of food and immediately I sensed that my mother is back. I was at the same time happy that I would narrate to my mother what her so-called husband did to me last night. 

I jumped up and speedily went to take my bath. I wore a simple floral pink colored A shaped dress.

I went downstairs to the kitchen where I saw my mother setting the dinning table for breakfast.

Immediately I make eye contact with my mom I burst into tears. "Prudy darling , can you please tell me what it is that make you cry"my mother asks me. Before I knew it she takes my hands and drags me to her room. "Now that it's just me and you , can you tell me what it is Prudy?" 

I explained everything that happened last night to her she was very mad at the same time sober. "Unno this man is my husband and we need him to assist us financially, he pays all the bills around here and I need you to understand that" she explains the situation to me." I try talking him out if this , I need you to trust me tht everything would be fine" she takes my hands as she sobs with me.

The moment was ruined when we heard the call of my stepdad to come for breakfast"Now Prudy , clean yourself , and I want you to be brave, okay! " My mom begs me as she helps me to out my self together.

We went downstairs to have break fast, the meal was fantastic and we all enjoyed it . After we were done I help in cleaning the table and doing the dishes. 

While doing the dishes I heard the shouts of my mother arguing with my stepdad, I moved closer to the direction of the noise to grab a glimpse of what was going on, I then realised it was the issue of what my stepdad did to me that was being argued upon." Woman,open your ears and listen to me, you travel here and there and you don't even have my time, I am a man with blood running through my veins, my body is not fire wood , you don't give me the attention I deserve sexually and am sure that's why I married you in the first place, well you left a woman with me alone in the house and I think she's enough to satisfy my sexual needs if you can't provide it" my stepdad explains to my mom in a very harsh tone and before I knew it my mom slapped my stepdad.

Sooner or later , my stepdad starts to beat my mother mercilessly when he was done he stormed out of the room and walked towards me.

He stood  there huffing and puffing

" I can't take this right now" he says rubbing his face and then leaving the room. I got up screaming on top of my voice. I didn't know what I should say to him  I just scream on the top of my lungs and feeling the pain that my mother must have passed through

Then I asked him "what is your problem?" ,

And with that he turn around his hand over his ears "what the hell stop " I stopped looking down, I  faced him straight in the eye ,then he was like "do you know what is wrong with you" and;

I answered" what"

" you are a spoilt brat you get everything you want,and when things don't go your way you cry and scream at you get what you want and never get" he said this to me and pointed his finger in my face .

I was mad and the fact that  he treated I and my mum that way and also he was 2 feet taller than me but it  wasn't scary at the time ,

"how am I supposed to not  show or complain what you have done to me, when your hobby currently, is to throw me on the ground and you treat me like s*** ".I blasted him.

when I went to go and check on my mother I found her lying on the floor helplessly her body was already getting cold , I checked her breath and I realised that she has stop breathing .

I took my phone and called the ambulance to come to my aid and in no time my m was being rushed to the hospital.

I dressed to go to the hospital to check on my mom. On getting to the hospital I was asked my relationship with her and I made them to understand that I am her daughter. I was appointed a nurse to take me to my mom's Ward 

I saw my mother looking pale and weak, I looked at her in the eye and I felt bad for her. She then broke the silence by altering some statements.

"Prudence, I want to tell you something,.. no matter where I am or whatever happens.. I want you to stay with your step father no matter what ,at least you have someone"she persuades me a a loud and weak tone, I looked down,(on the floor) ,like l am personally  very dissapointed in her. 

I saw my mother was talking on reasonably at the moment , maybe because of the domestic violence she just went through ,maybe that's what is foauting with her brain, I was just looking at the floor not knowing what to say

" I can't believe you want me to stay with him but if he beats me ,what if it kills me ".I want pass some few  moment before looking at her again

"You know he would not  kill you ,come to reality and stop overreacting "

"Mum leave me alone I think what is right ,is that we should leave that mad man that you  call your husband, I know and feel that you can take this anymore". 

My mum put her hands on mine and crooned" honey "she called

" I want you to stay with rex ,he's got the money, he's got everything is good father for you ,and with time I know he'll give you happiness ,he has everything that will make you survive like throughout your lifetime, does it means if he beats or abuse you at least I know I won't to bother for expense, come to reality my dear , there are many women out there that is passing through what we don't ever wish to pass through 😔, let help ourselves...always remember that weeping may endure for the night but joy comes in the morning".

After the statements she made finally she started gasping for air , like she was behaving some how , I couldn't point what is going on , I called out for help , a pressed the emergency button to alert the medical personnel to come and check on her, immediately they all trouped in to check on her ,they told me to go out and wait for a while.

so later on, I asked the doctor what was going on with my mother, the doctor  asked  If I'm the relative of the  patient that is in that ward he pointed out and I told him 'yes' and I am her daughter.

Then doctor accompanied me to his office" Miss ,am sorry to say this bout unfortunately we lost your mother" the doctor told me, I felt like a idiot at the moment I couldn't even make a sentence before I knew it my sight becomes dark and I couldn't feel my body I felt so numb.
