Prudence POV

I had to scream, like we all do.

Sharp,short, piercing and full of terror. Echoing and bouncing off each stone wall. 

I was striked again by the wicked prison warden who put all his energy into the blow of the whip. I screamed again. The horrible thing about the scream of pain ,is that it's an involuntary action. It gives one body a false sensation of anger as well as sadness.

I've been trying hard to control my outburst and also what passes through my mouth

I feel the piercing of the whip that echoes, it make me feel more pain than I've never been inflicted with. I am try very hard to hid my pain but it's apparent in my scream. It's laced into my body as well as the atmosphere around me. I've been constantly pleading for the whips to stop, I can feel my breaking point approaching. 

I feel like I'm weak,am afraid, I've been suffering all my life and I don't think it seems to seize any time soon, am going to crumple any time soon if the beating continues.

I feel the lash once again , I let out a fear laced short scream. I was initially standing, my hand was bonded, with chains,to the mental frame and my legs chained to the floor. But come the 19th lash, my back torned bloodied with strip of flesh missing, I succumbed to serious pain. 

Now kneeling with my hands in full extension. My knuckles white as I desperately cling onto the chains I was hanged from .I was whip again for the twentieth time today. 

"This is the last one" he said in a soothing tone.

He strike the final blow. I barely make any noise this time. I just let out a groan, that morphs into moaned pants.

He took the whip and coiled it up, before placing it on the hook on The Wall , he walked over to the other side of the cell and picked up a rag, he walked over to me and wiped my forehead with rag, removing the swaet,tears and dirt. He runs the cloth down my face, cleaning up my cheeks and jaw.

He stroke my cheeks and said "you did well, what's you name" and then I replied

"Prudence". 

"So prudence, walk outside the cell and you'll see a female warden, who'll clean you up" so I stood up and walked out of the cell following the instructions given.

The female prison warden helps me to strip off my clothes because am in handcuffs .She then pours liquid soap in a bowl of water before she pours it on my body,she then rinses my body with clean water. She dried my body with a clean towel and wears me a new pair of underwear and a neat orange colored prison uniform, she then takes me to the field for labour.

During the labour I was instructed to cut a piece of land with a cutlass. After the labour I returned my equipments then I crossed paths with some female prisoners.

I noticed some other female prisoners like me " I tried to eavesdrop from their conversation cuz it seems suspicious the way there were looking towards me.

"Barbara , this babe looks hot and I think you should have a taste of her"one of them say to the other

"Oh, wow, cool ,I must say"the one I guess to be Barbara says.

So it was time for lunch , and the quantity of the food is based on the amount of labour you've done , being naive about all these , I did a ton of work and I guess I'll be getting a lot of food .

Like am so exhausted right now and I'll like to eat this food in peace. My peace doesn't seem to last when Barbara the girl I crossed paths with the other time and her gang, sits beside me and make attempts to tamper with my food with really seems annoying.

"Hey babe, how far, it's obvious you're new here because I have noticing the way you've been acting like a buffoon"one of the ladies addresses me.

"You're welcome to our clique, meeeeen you look so good,am gonna suck the hell outta you " Barbara says looking at me seductively .

Before I knew it , she started shooking her hands inside my food.

"please just leave me Barbara,and don't take my food .got it?. 

"Wait you know me?"Barbara said lighting up.

"Yup". I said popping on the pea.

Barbara moved really close which wasn't comfortable.

"Then you wouldn't mind a famous person like me stealing your fries "she said grabbing them and running off. 

"Barb, get back here you jerk"I creeched as I ran after her, I was really feeling frustrated and annoyed because of the pain l had passed through today. I moved really fast, she ran into a small alley I followed her but I was dissapointed that I already lost her until when I felt someone holig me against the wall.

"what the fuck are you doing?"I said at angry at barb. 

"I was hungry" she explained.she said as the food fell off her hand and landed on the floor.

"no shit , I worked for that food,you owe me miss". She smirked . 

"What do you think you're doing?"I said loudly. "You're pretty hot" .

"excuse me"

Before I could say anything else. Her lips crashed against mine, she deepens the kiss and i felt irritated because she's a female just like l am. I was closing my eyes before and I was really feeling gross when a raid of energy was felt in my body, my eyes flew opened and the next thing I did was to smack her in the face.

"Leave that lady alone,now" a very stern female voice instructed driving her away from me.

I discovered that it was my Cellmate 

"Hey girl, hope she didn't hurt you? Barbara is very fond of that " 

What was that for? I was enjoying that!"Barbara said

"bitch, please "and with that I left the scenario to a corner where my roomie came to meet later on.

"It has always been like that Barbara and her clique of rotten minions likes to harass innocent ones around here and they really tend to influence the person in a very bad manner, they are threats to this environment. Hope you're not really pissed off by her actions towards you so far".

she said as a prison warden walked us to our cell.

"Oh, am really tensed Right now ,they wouldn't even allow me to enjoy my lunch in peace after all the punishment I've passed through today, I hate to say this but I hate my life here already".

" Sorry, just thank God I came at the right time,....Well ever since you got here ,you made no effort to get to know me or tell me your name, my name is Alexis, in short you can call me Lexi" Lexi introduces herself

"Uhnnnnnn , thanks for the other time , my name is prudence and in short you can call me Prudy" I told her as well entered our cell and sat on Lexi down bunk

"Also , I wanna know how you managed to get Barbara off me in just a command , you must have done alot here to achieve that type of respect" I said in an amazed tone.

"I've been here for a while now and as a prisoner here am a very tough person if you don't know and am feared because of my achievements here so far and the job that unengaged in that actually lead me here"she explained comprehensively.

Nice meeting yo-" she was cut off what she was saying by a prison warden.

"Lexi, here is a letter for you " the prison warden hands over a parcel to Lexi.

After opening the parcel Lexi takes out the content and began to read it and in no time she begins to cry. I kinda feel bad for her and try to ask what's up in the letter.

"Hey Lexi , stop crying you can share with me what makes you so down , unno a problem shared is half solved" I try to console her.

"Well ,this is the report about the well being of my son and attached to it, it's his picture , i feel so bad by making him an orphan even though am not dead" she confesses

"I know you're wondering why I stated that he's an orphan even though am alive.......well , am sure you know the popular Snake gang, I and my husband runs the gang and our last operation was based on armed robbery , in the process of arresting us, my husband was shot in the head and that is how he gave up the ghost and I was sentenced to life imprisonment"she explains as she sobs .

"Am so sorry for your loss,pls take heart , am sure your son is in good hands" I tried to console her.

"So Prudy , what's your story"
