Chapter Four
Author: JessicahallMy thoughts drifted off back to the dream I had, there was something familiar about it. I just couldn't quite remember the details of the room. I was sure there was something about the room, that felt familiar to me like I had been in it before, my mind just couldn't figure why I felt that way, maybe it was only familiar because I have been having the same reoccuring dream for the last few weeks, but I had a feeling there was way more to it than that.
I was dissociating completely immersed in my thoughts, I hadn't even realised the car had stopped and we had arrived at our destination. The car was now parked out the front of Morgan's café. Becca was already out of the car and the bang of the door was what pulled me back into my surroundings.
Morgan’s café was located on the east side of the city, in the artsy district. Morgan's café is an old colonial style house that had been gutted on the inside removing all the walls to open it to one open room. It had a large wrap around deck at the front which had veins wrapping around the railing and climbing up walls of the building. Out the front are tables, chairs and blue and white umbrellas. My parents weren't there yet so, we both decided to go check out the stalls that were set up in the alleyway beside the café. The stalls mostly had homemade crafts and jewellery.
Noticing a stall that sold dream catchers, I left the little jewellery stall that Becca was at and walked over observing the dream catchers. Hanging from the gazebo one of the dreamcatchers caught my attention it was black and gold, it had silver beads and white feathers hanging from it. It was beautifully made the detail was very intricate and I could tell a lot of work had gone into hand making them, I watched as it glimmered in the light.
Just as I went to get it down, an elderly woman stepped forward pulling it down from where it hung. The old women was blind in one eye, it had turned a milky colour. The other eye was emerald green sparkling in the light that filtered through the gazebo. She had long white hair that went to the middle of her back and a floral dress on. She took the dream catcher and wrapped it in tissue paper before handing it to me.
I went to pull my wallet out to pay but the women stopped me. Placing her hand on top of mine, she shook her head. She gave me an eerie smile her green eye flashed brighter before.
"I hope it helps to chase the darkness away" I stared stunned by the old woman’s words. The lady then turned and walked away. I watched after her. My hand tingling where the old women had placed her hand.
Becca walked over, handing her keys to me so, I could put the dream catcher in the car. Once I had done that. I went and took a seat outside in the sun in front of café, at a table with four small chairs. Making sure I sat down where my parents would see us easily as they arrived. Becca brang four latte's over placing two on the table, she handed one to me before sitting down herself.
My parents soon arrived. Taking seats at the table, they ordered food for everyone and sipped their lattes Becca brought. My mother is a petite woman with green eyes and auburn hair like me and pale skin. Dad is tall slightly tanned and has dark almost black hair and brown eyes and a strong build.
My mother Ellie grabbed both our hands looking at us both lovingly.
"How have you been Becca any plans for the break?" My mother asked.
"Good ma and yes I'm going home for the first week, mum wants me to go with her for a few days to see my grandmother and cousins, what about you guys? have you got anything planned with Avery?"
My father Jon looked at my mother uncomfortably before answering. They both shared a strange look between each other.
"Well that's why we invited you to lunch, I know you were looking forward to coming home for a few days, but your mother has been asked to go to see the elders at the main coven house"
I stared speechless; mum hasn't visited the elders for a while, years actually. They mostly left us alone unless it was important.
"Before you say it, we know you won't go, but we wanted to see you before we left to let you know in person, we leave tomorrow" my father told me.
Letting out a sigh of relief. I had no intentions to go, the Witch elders scared me always talking in riddles that made no sense. I Always got the feeling they don't like me. They are never rude to me, but they don't go out of their way to speak to me. I can tell they are wary of me for some reason.
"That's fine dad, I have heaps of assignments due by the end of break anyway" I replied
The rest of the lunch was spent talking about our grades, classes and about life at the university. I didn't tell my parents about the nightmares not wanting them to worry. My parents were loving and cared deeply for me. But I always got a feeling they were hiding something. I've always known something was different about me not the witch part, but I have always been fascinated by dark magic and death.
My parents put me on medication saying I was depressed when I was 10 years old, I've been on it ever since. The pills mute my magic. I don't mind but at the same time telling my parents, I have been having nightmares would make them think my meds weren't working, and I didn't want them to worry. Part of living independently was, I had to deal with things on my own and I planned too.

Meredith said give her day, it's been a week. Becca has been locked away for a week now. Meredith came back the next day and told me she had plan to merge my magic with hers. What she forgot to tell me was, after I merged my magic with hers it left me powerless. That was her plan all along, she knew I would go after Becca. I have no choice, she is closest thing I will ever have to a sister, no she is my sister. I can't picture my life without her in it. They may not kill her, but I knew they were capable of things much worse than death. They can and will destroy her if they don't get what they want. For them it would be easy to kill her in ways, other than death. The mind can only take so much before it breaks, only take so much torture before the teether that holds our souls is torn and split leaving only a shell. I won’t allow my best friend to become an empty vessel. The third day Aamon and Meredith, put a

The following morning, I woke on the lounge. Getting up, I quickly checked my phone and seen five missed calls from Becca. Hitting recall, I rang her back, but the phone rang out and I got her voicemail. I left a message for her to call me back. I just assumed she was calling to bitch about last night. She might be in class now and I know she will call as soon as she gets a chance.Deciding to have a shower, I grab a pair of jeans and a white T-shirt and my white bra and panties, before jumping into the shower. Aamon must of went somewhere because he wasn't on the lounge when I got up and I haven't seen him. I thought it was a bit unusual, he didn't even leave a note. Probably got called into work. While washing myself, I hear a knock on the door.I knew it wouldn't be Aamon because he wouldn't knock on his own door. Maybe it's a delivery person, or maybe someone from the foyer. Quickly stepping out of the shower, I

Waking up, it was night-time. I was still half asleep on the lounge. I had a weird sensation of my mind being awake but not my body. I could hear Aamon and Meredith talking in hushed voices, I could tell they were arguing over something. Pretending I was still asleep, I listened."You have no idea what you're talking about""When she finds out it will destroy her, you really are nothing but a monster, how can you pretend, to care about her after what you did?""I'm not pretending anything, I love her. I didn't have a choice, you weren't there so don't judge me, you didn't hear what they planned for her""I may not have been there but that doesn't mean I don't know what you did, god help you when she finds out""Think what you want Meredith, I saved her, I brought her time. I owed them I had no choice""I should kill y

Two weeks later...I had been training with Meredith for the last week and a bit, she has been showing me different ways to use my powers and strengthen them. The Coven Witches have been randomly showing up to my university looking for me, trying to get me to join and merge my power with the Faewood Coven.Becca has been ringing me every time they showed up to let me know, so for now I have been staying at Aamon's place in the northside. Meredith was coming to his apartment today. We have only ever practised at my mother’s store, but she has been growing anxious with how much pressure Agatha has been putting onto the coven witches to find me. It's only a matter of time before they figure out, I have been hiding out in the north side.Meredith seems to think they won't dare to cross into this territory and decided it would be safer to practise here. Aamo

After dropping Becca back off to her dorm. I grabbed a few things from my room before following behind Aamon, driving back to the north side of the city. Once we arrived the valet took both cars.Grabbing the few things, I retrieved from my dorm, I carried them up to his apartment before walking into the kitchen to put the kettle on and placing the herbs on the counter. Walking into Aamon's room and into his closet, stripping my clothes off before grabbing a pair of his track pants and one of his shirts which looked more like a dress then a shirt on me. Aamon stood in the doorway, which earned me a sly smile from him seeing me in his clothes, stepping past him where he had his shoulder resting on the door frame, I slapped his ass cheekily before going back to the kitchen.Making the tea I wasn't sure if I should put a teaspoon or tablespoon in, f
Avalon City Chapter 14
In the photo was my mother and my bio mother who was pregnant. They looked happy standing side by side their arms around each other. There was no deny the bond they shared, one photo and I could see and feel the love they shared. The photo was inside the potions book. They both looked young maybe a bit younger than me at the time the photo was taken, they could have easily passed as twins they were so similar. My father in the background, he looked like he was talking to someone, a dark-haired woman. Her back was to the camera. I Examined the photo carefully, could that woman be Meredith? While I was pondering, I heard the bell sound. Looking up towards the door, I made eye contact with Aamon, Aamon nodded his head towards the front of the store before walking out to see who had come in. I followed closely behind the photo still in my hand.

Today was the day. September 9th my 21st birthday also, the day I was supposed to be initiated into my mother’s coven, the Faewood coven. It had been two days since my dream revelation, I had explained my dream to Aamon and Becca and for the last two days, we had looked ev
