Chapter 7

Amelia was left with a frightened look on her face. Damian smiled at her and left the house.

"Amelia" her mom called out.

"Mom" Amelia says as she turns to her mother.

"What was that about?"

"Um. I'm not sure either" Amelia says, trying to hide her nervousness.

"Why didn't you tell me that you were planning to intern on a company?" her father asks.

"I was going to tell you"

"Well, why do you want to intern anyway?" her mother asks.

"For experience" Amelia answered.

Her parents looked at each other and then smiled.

"I see. Well, if you want to do it both your mother and I don't have any objections"

"What? Really?"

"Of course. Just stay away from men while you're there. Men are wolves" her father said and Amelia laughs.

"What are you saying. Does that mean you're a wolf too?" Her mother says and laughs.

"Wha-well, except me. I'm the only exception"

While her parents are busy talking and teasing each other, Amelia quietly left the house.

As Amelia closes the door of their house, a deep and calm voice suddenly spoke.

"So, did you make up your mind?" He asks with his arms crossed and his back leaning on his car.

Amelia turns around and looks at Damian in the eyes.

"Not yet. Give me more time" Amelia says and looks down on her feet.

"I don't have much patience so decide fast"

Amelia nods and was about to walk away when Damian stops her.

"Wait"

Amelia turns around and looks at him.

"Where are you going?" He asks.

"To my friend's house"

"I'll drive you so get in," he said and opened the door of his car for her.

Amelia slowly walks to his car and sat down. Damian closes the door of the passenger seat and then walks around to the driver's seat.

"Did you listen to the doctor's advice attentively?" Damian asks.

Amelia nods, "hm"

"Don't force yourself to eat if you feel sick. If you want to vomit. Just vomit. And remember to take these" he said and handed her a paper bag. She looks inside and saw pills.

"Those are the vitamins that you need to take. Take one a pill a day for each of those"

Damian's kindness and care made Amelia's heart waver. Who knew he would be this caring to her. She didn't know if his kindness is directed to the baby inside her or herself but it didn't feel bad. Unconsciously, a small curve formed on her lips

"Amelia" his deep and gentle voice called out to her.

"Are you listening to me?" Damian asks.

"Y-yes"

The car stops and Damian walks out of the car. He opens the door for Amelia and offers his hand to her. She takes it and stood up.

They both walked towards Tara's house. Damian rings the doorbell and a woman who is almost the same height as Amelia opens the door. Tara was surprised to see the familiar man whom she had seen on the news and her best friend together. Her eyes travel down to the intertwined hands of the two.

"Lia! What are you doing? Why are you with this guy?" Tara immediately asks.

"U-umm..."

Damian looks at Amelia and grabs her arm gently.

"I'll be going now. Remember to take the vitamins I gave you. And listen to the doctor's advice. I've already paid for every session so you don't have to worry about it. Call me when you're going to the hospital. I'll accompany you" Damian says.

"Okay," Amelia answers.

Tara turns her head from Damian to Amelia. She can feel the weird atmosphere coming from both of them. And in her mind, she sang 'I can see what's happening, and they don't have a clue' she adverts her gaze from them and secretly smiles. 'Guess I don't have to worry' she thought.

Damian turns away and walks towards his car when he suddenly remembers something. He stops and turns around. "Amelia" he called out.

Amelia looks at him without saying anything.

"Think carefully about my offer," he said and enters his car.

Tara looks at Amelia before asking, "Offer?"

"I'll explain it to you inside," Amelia said and entered the house.
