Chapter 4
Author: ForevergoldieeEmerald
As I climbed down Mimi’s car, I couldn't help but regret my choice of outfit. A short, fitted red dress that stopped above my knee with a black leather jacket on black boots. My make-up was done by Mimi, who decided to take things to a vixen direction than a normal Emerald direction with sharp red lipstick and eyeliner.
I pulled my dress down, when I noticed the guys at the bar’s entrance give me sinful looks.
Meanwhile, Mimi had on jean shorts with vintage shirt on a boot. It wasn't anything out of the ordinary since she always wore make up.
Strutting into Great World, I bit my lips out of nervousness. Although I had on a jacket, I felt shivers hit my spine. The club was beautiful with blue light accents, a neat bar with a tattoed bar woman, blasting trap music and bunch of University students grinding, making out, dancing...doing whatever.
I felt Mimi's sweaty palm on my hands and squeezed it tightly. "It's a club, Mimi. Just a club."
To my surprise, she laughed it out.
"I'll go get us a drink, " she left for the bar.
The VIP lounge made me speechless and I didn't waste time plunging myself on the sofa, thinking about how much luck crossed Mimi's path. Was she lying about not meeting anyone? People didn't just get VIP tickets everyday.
My eyes darted to the other occupant of the area. There was a guy making out with his Auburn haired girlfriend. Even at the sound of the music, I could hear her moan. Abruptly, his eyes found mine. He continued kissing her with his hand rugged into her hair still looking at me. Then he winked.
Eww.
I averted his eyes and found Mimi with two glasses in hand. She handed me over mine and I imbibed it quickly.
"Calm down, " she gesticulated with her hand trying to warn me, but it was too late, cause I had gulped a large chunk. And it burned my throat and chest.
"Fuck! What's this?"
She grinned. "Sex on the beach."
"Thought you were going for beer."
"Thought you'd like the full experience." she laughed.
Hmm maybe I underrated her a bit.
"Come on, let's go." she pulled my arms.
"Where?"
"Say hi to the guy who gave me the tickets."
I found some other guys at the area, one was trying some powder of some sort in an handkerchief. He sniffed with a smile tugging at his lips. I quickly raised myself up, adhering to Mimi’s order.
I didn't see anything; didn't want to see. Those were the kinda stuff that got innocent people killed in movies.
"Can you stop pulling me, " I said, working behind Mimi, with her hand drawing me tightly.
"There he is." she came to a halt and tapped the guy whose back was to us. He spun around
"Oh...Mimi!” He was clean and cute on pants and sweatshirt.
"It’s me!" her round cheeks showed as she gave a full smile. She looked too happy and excited about this guy. Did she have a crush on him?
"This is my best friend, Emerald." she raised her arm, presenting me.
"Hello, " I said wearing a grin and stretching forth my hand.
"You're the Emerald." he stated calmly while I squinted, confused. "We met the other day. Well, we didn't actually meet. You met Dev. Remember?"
Who was Dev?
It took me a minute to digest who the person was.
"Ohh..." Dev was that guy that stopped me the other day. And this was probably one of the guys that was dressed normally on plain jeans and shirt. "Wow." I chuckled. "What a coincidence. How's this?" I turned to Mimi with a smile.
"Yeah. So, Dev's brother owns this place. And Devin's right --there." he pointed at the guy talking to a bunch of girls who laughed too loudly at what I thought must have been a dumb joke.
"Uh thanks." I scratched my head, wondering why he had to direct me to someone I didn't care to see. All the while, Mimi was just glancing at both of us.
"You should go say hi." her eyes deepened into mine, sounding more like an order than a suggestion. She wanted to be alone with the guy. I got it. "Sure." I laughed, leaving them alone.
Feeling carefree, I walked past Devin and the bunch of elementary school girls, heading to the bar. I stopped when I heard him excuse himself and walk toward me.
"Emerald."
My legs turned in it's own accord to face him. "Devin."
He smiled. "Never thought I'd see you again."
"Yeah, me too. Came here with my best friend, she's right over there with--" I didn't get the guy's name, but pointing at them helped me out.
"That's Steve." he helped me out.
Seeing Mimi get along with the guy, I felt the need to have fun too, so I did the first thing that came to my head. "Drink with me?"
"Defintely."
He placed a hand on my waist, guiding me to the bar where we sat, drank shots of scotch and drinks I couldn't remember. It was fast, how we went from one bottle to the other. I cackled watching him laugh. I hadn't even remember what he'd said but everything just seemed funny at the moment. His smooth brown hair was gelled down. And the way he moved his lips as he talked was sexy.
He had said something about the club and all. I remembered he talked about the university--about him being in his second year or so. He spoke a lot about other things my mind didn't grab, perhaps I was too busy looking at his handsome face and lips I so wanted to taste.
We ordered another drink. Talked again and laughed. Until I was too tired of talking or giggling. The air fell silent. My eyes grabbed his. I crossed, uncrossed my legs giving signal, but he only wore a smirk.
Then I bit my lips, eyeing him seductively. "Kiss me, " I finally muttered.
He did kiss me. And he tasted like liquor. Hot, sexy, intense taste that I found myself wanting more. I remembered taking my bag off the bar counter with my arms in his.
Everything soon felt blurry, but one thing was sure--I wanted him.
