Chapter 6

I've been trying to locate the building but all my efforts has been in vain.

Maybe the job ad was fake and was put there by an insane person.

Why the hell would they put a fake ad on a bill board?

Was it a trick? Maybe they thought nobody in their right senses would want to apply for a job that makes it clear that what they're doing is dangerous.

I shook my head to that thought. Surely I can't be the only desperate unemployed graduate.

Did they move to another location?

But the ad looked new.

And even if they moved to another place at least the old building should be there.

They didn't move the old building too. Could they?

Definitely not.

The only building I've see so far since I've been wandering this particular street I didn't even know existed is an old manor with pealing paints and gates that looked like that of hell.

It looked deserted and hunted.

I shuddered.

The place was starting to give me the creeps so I turned preparing to go back home when I came to where the building was.

I stood and stared at it for a while.

Weighing the options.

Going into the building and getting killed by a ghost or going back home to a very worse fate of marrying James.

The latter looked way better so I went for it.

I went closer to the gate and touched it only to have it open up by itself.

Told ya!

Run now when you still have the chance.

No!

OK then, go ahead and get yourself possessed or even worse, killed.

That was an argument with me and Maya. That girl really knows how to encourage one. Note the sarcasm.

I ignored Maya's protests and went inside.

I saw a fountain that had stopped working probably since before I was born and looked like the only work it did was warn people like me that what was inside looked ugly and was far more dangerous than it.

I ignored that too.

Wow, you've really got balls. Where did you get them from tho? Your future husband ,James?

Shut up Maya!

As you wish milady.

I thought that with that she'd left me and decided to keep shut bit I was wrong.

I should have known that keeping her mouth shut was not in her diary.

I stumbled upon the root of a plant.

Wohoo! Third sign.

I really can't wait to wear black on your funeral.

You can't!.

Whatever makes you think so?

You're not real!

Oh really?

Yes!

I shut the door at her. Or so I thought.

Finally I made my way into the building and faced the door.

I raised my hand to knock and the door opened itself.

This time Maya didn't even bother herself. Maybe she has accepted both our fates.

I entered and was faced with a very narrow passage. It looked like it was made for someone like me.

I'm sure if Mrs Wilkins, our fat neighbor tries to enter she'd be stuck forever.

I continued nevertheless through the long long passage and was starting to wonder if it even has an end when I came face to face with a glass door.

I raised my hand and it did the same thing the others had been doing, it opened itself.

The only difference was that, the other were had been full of emptiness.

The one was not.

And Maya made an appearance at the sight.

You made a death wish, you're now face to face with the demon of death herself. Good luck.

And with that she shut the door herself.

There she was, sitting on a swivel, with her back facing me.

She had a red hair and a pale skin, and from the way she sat cross legged I could tell that she was shaped and sexy.

'Well, well, well. Welcome home Maya'.

'W-what?'.

She cocked her head.

'Err-t-thanks'.

She smiled showing her teeth. No! Those can't be called teeth, they looked more like.. Fangs.

I swallowed.

'Why are you so scared, Darling?'

'H-how did you know?'.

'I smelt it, I smelt your fear'. She sniffed the air for dramatic effects.

'Come on,child don't be scared. I'm not going to harm you'.

'Why should I believe you?'.

'It's simple, I could have killed you immediately you stepped into this building. But I couldn't. Why? Because I need your help'.

'My help? What do you want me to do for you?'. I asked scared. Someone that looked like this surely wouldn't want anything but something dangerous.

'Simple. What you've come here to do'.

'You mean...hurt predators?'.

She smiled.

'What kind of predators?, if I may ask'.

'You may not'. And with that she stood up from her chair and stalked towards me.

'Oh'. I said through breaths.

She stood in front of me for a while and reached out to take my face in her hands.

She caressed my face for a while and planted a wet kiss on my cheek. 'What a beautiful specimen you are'.

'And you look familiar'. She murmured but I caught it.

'You must be wondering who I am'.

I removed my face from her palm and nodded.

'My name is Julia Peters. The founder of the group, Hunters'.

'I thought It was a company'.

'It is. And it is not'.

'Oh'.

'It is every thing. To a factory, industry, company, Everything'.

'Oh'.

'Come with me'.

She led me deeper into her office and opened a door. You'd think it's a normal room but no, it's full of everything to weapons, machineries,bunks, Tents, Sleeping bags, Sleeping pads, Camping pillows, lamps, flashlights, Camp chairs, Camp tables, Lantern, etc.

'What are these?'.

'These are the equipments you'll be using on your hunt for predators'.

I nodded.

'So, when should I begin?'.

'Tomorrow'.

'Tomorrow? But don't you think that's too early?'.

'No'.

'Oh ,OK'.

'Go and bid your family and loved ones goodbye, because after tomorrow, you might not be seeing them again'. She smirked then left me standing, gaping at her shapey retreating figure.
