“Lawrence, why didn’t you tell me that you were coming here?”

Yvonne stood in front of Suzy and looked at Lawrence seductively while pulling her collar down slightly. In that instant, she appeared smug as she sneered at everyone else, acting like Lawrence came just to see her.

While the others eyed her jealously, Suzy, on the other hand, was quite speechless at Yvonne’s antics.

Lawrence shoved Yvonne aside and spoke to Suzy, “My birthday party is tonight at eight o’ clock in Baronet Mansion. You must attend!” He stared at her with his dark eyes.

What Lawrence said shocked the others greatly. Suddenly, everyone started to whisper among themselves.

“When did Suzy become so close to Lawrence?”

“We never know what others have up their sleeves. How could she get herself such a rich man?”

Yvonne was starting to get frustrated, but she still playfully said, “Lawrence, Suzy is busy tonight, but I’ll definitely be there!”

“No one has dared decline an invitation from me before. Miss Lake, I hope that you can take responsibility for this and ensure that Suzy attends my party.”

Lawrence appeared like a playful but nonchalant man at that moment. He scanned Suzy from head to toe, before walking towards her and playfully pinching her small chin.

Suzy frowned and fury soon engulfed her. How daring he was! Who knew what kind of things he was plotting?

However, she still hesitated because of Ronald.

On the other hand, Yvonne’s face froze for less than a second. She quickly recovered and said, “I got it, Lawrence!”

It angered Yvonne that she had to be responsible for Suzy, given that she was merely an assistant. She turned to stare wickedly at Suzy. How she hated her. But, she did not dare act recklessly in front of Lawrence.

Besides, she had her own way of prohibiting Suzy from going to the party...

It was starting to get late, but Suzy was still at the company, all alone. She was arranging the costumes, as per Yvonne’s instructions. From time to time, she glanced at the clock. It would be eight o’ clock soon, but she had not completed her task yet.

Would she be unable to attend Lawrence’s birthday party?

In fact, Suzy had decided to attend just to find out whether or not he was the man from five years ago. But, why was there so much to tend to all of a sudden? She would never finish her task in time!

Knowing that Ronald was waiting for her further added to her annoyance. She could not help but frown.

Suddenly, a playful voice came from behind her, “Suzy, why are you still here?”

Suzy was shocked. Who would come to the company to look for her so late at night?

Without her realizing it, Lawrence had managed to sneak up behind her. He smiled cunningly at her. Why was he here?

“What’s wrong? Are you amazed? Is this a great surprise?”

Acting like a playboy, Lawrence pinched Suzy’s chubby little face, causing her to frown. It was more of a shock than a surprise.

“How about this? Let me take care of you from now on. Then, you don’t have to work overtime here alone anymore!”

Although Lawrence had never left a good impression on her, his offer still had her feeling conflicted.
