Nikolai allowed his hand to trail down the delicate curve of Charlotte’s back as they walk past yet another one of her favourite boutique. Women and shopping, he could never really get pass their desire to shop like there’s no tommorow but for him to be stuck with her as she did so; was all on him.

“Damn it Victoria! Will you just wait!”

The car came to a halting screech.

Victoria sighed as she turned on her key to open up her door.

There was a pond filled with water lilies and sun was bright, almost too bright that Victoria had to squint her eyes to be able to see the most beautiful garden that she stood in. There were birds flying high above her head, singing the most beautiful harmonious song. She stretched her toes, welcoming the gentle caress of the green grass at her feet.

Soft eyes stared back at her.

Almost two weeks later, Nikolai slipped off his headset and fastened his seatbelt as the captain announce their decent. It had been months since he had last seen his father and once news struck that he had taken a sudden ill spell, Nikolai jumped on the first flight to Nappa valley.

Victoria had known that people still whispered about her. Whether ot was her personal or her position at her father’s company. She also knew that they wouldn’t dare say anything to her face. So she decided that what was said behind her back didn’t matter, not even when they were beginning to hint that she was the shameful lady behind the mask who over bid at the auction.

Victoria insisted on driving her Sedan. Although to Nikolai's liking, he had preferred that she had rode in with them.

She was halfway down the road to the lake, walking with her arms wrapped around herself, when Nikolai found her.
