ACT-10

"I won't marry." I announced and the room fell silent. No one had asked my opinion in particular. Everyone was sitting in the lounge, including my parents and siblings, as they discussed my marriage prospects with different guys. I watched everyone's gaze turn up towards me, who was sitting at the far-end couch of the room.

ACT-11

I followed him silently whilst taking in the hustle and bustle of the airport. My gaze kept wandering back to my hand in his grasp as he closely pulled me alongside him. I turned away with a gulp, trying not to think about it because it felt so normal, so easy, so comfortable. I sneaked a glance at him at the check-in, where he was showing my documents to the lady at the counter.

ACT-12

I stood in my place watching his retreating back with quivering lips when suddenly it started to become hazy. I tried to blink but it seemed like the room was spinning around me. Feeling lightheaded, I tried to grab the couch for support but before my hand could reach it, I felt another sturdy pair of hands wrapped around my waist. "

ACT-13

I woke up in the middle of the night and almost got a heart attack to find him sleeping beside me. For a few moments, I didn't dare blink. The lamp was left on, so I could see him very well. He looked so innocent and beautiful, if you could use that word to describe a guy. With one hand sprawled between us and other placed on the pillow in front of his face. He looked like a sleeping beauty.

ACT-14

Neither of us moved. I could only gape at him, stunned. His words had struck me speechless. He didn't look away but there was no mistaking the hurt in his eyes. I wanted to say something, to erase that pain yet, no words would come out. Finally, he looked away first. The muscles in his neck tightening, as he looked away from me. I tried to say something—anything—but I lost my chance as he walked past me and left.&

ACT-15

I ran down the short steps of Bristol Magistrate Court with my gown fluttering in air behind me. One hand pressing the phone against my ear, whilst the other holding my wig. "Blast it!" I swore, pulling the phone away from my face before rushing into my car. Throwing the wig along with my gown on the passenger seat, I pressed on the engine button and pulled the car out of the driveway.

ACT-16

"Honey, did you sleep alright?" I looked up from my breakfast at Granny's inquiry. She was looking at me with a warm smile, awaiting my response. "Yes Granny. I slept like a baby!" I exclaimed with a wide smile and just then Rayyan looked up and gave me a lifeless look.

ACT-17

I felt a weird sense of panic, as I sat in the backseat of the car. I still clearly remember my last day here, 3 years ago. Because of Dad's job we had moved to Gulf and didn't get a chance to return, until this year. 'Do I really wan

ACT-18

'There are moments in a person's life when they know in their gut that their survival depends on immediate action. Their mind is screaming the signals to them. Say for example, when you are crossing the road and a car is speeding towards you. In that obvious moment, the natural reflex would be to step away as quickly as possible. However, I was well aware that I fell in to the minor category of population who in that crucial deciding moment, became frozen on their spot. As if, waiting to be run over.'

ACT-19

"Hey. Zaira. Isn't Rayyan so cute?" I flinched at Hafsa's words, instinctively looking up from my lap, expecting to find him there, but was met with disappointment. A sudden burning feeling scorched in the pits of my heart but I extinguished it with a scoff.  "You mean a jerk? Or maybe delinquent?" I suddenly began to push my swing with greater vigour. Hafsa, unlike me was a direct cousin of Harris bhai. Her father Zubair Uncle, was the middle of the 3 siblings. Even so, I didn't particularly enjoy her company.
