 October 30th came fast. Susan tried not to concern herself with what was to come, but she was an empath. She felt, literally, the struggles that others were suffering. Being helpful and concerned was simply part of her DNA. Susan had developed these skills as she grew into an adult werewolf, but her emotions seemed even more intense since meeting her mate. She said to herself out loud, “why would The Creator pair me with someone that doesn’t want me?” Now was not the time to stress over it, because there was too much to accomplish today. 

 As Susan backed into the garage, she saw there appeared to be more people here now than earlier. Of course that was positive because that meant less were in harm's way tomorrow.   “How’s it going? Did everyone get settled?” Travis asked loudly as he walked up to a table filled with his pack members. Several began to answer him at once, but Travis couldn’t help but notice that Susan, his mate got up and left the garage. It took everything Travis had not to go running after her, but he managed to keep his face void of emotion and pretend to be attentive to his pack members. 

  Travis woke up on the ground with a bunch of commotion to his left side. Every muscle in his body hurt. Travis lay there momentarily as he tried to remember how he got on the ground. Looking to his right, Travis saw Luna Paulina standing next to him with something in her hand and wires that went from her hand to his torso. Travis narrowed his eyes and looked up to her face, “Mom? What happened?”

 Brad followed Luna Paulina back to the pack house with the taser in his lap. Just having it close made Brad feel safer. Parking beside Luna Paulina, Brad locked his car and followed her into the building, through the dining area. As they entered the pack house, Brad couldn’t help but notice four very muscular men sitting at one of the tables eating and playing cards. The men had guns and stun guns on their belts. Travis figured they must be more guards, but they had a certain look about them that captivated Brad. These men seemed mature and sure of themselves. The smallest of the four men looked up as Brad walked into the building and never took his eyes off him. O

 Brad seemed quite upset by Paulina’s answer, about staying to fight for their territory. Jeffrey calmed him by taking his hand. When Jeffrey touched Brad’s hand, Brad gasped and looked into his eyes; Jeffrey returned his eye contact and smiled.Luna Paulina was curious, “Brad, what do you know about your parents?”

 With a quick kiss to her lips, Travis stepped out to grab a towel to put around his waist.  He grabbed another to dry his hair and body. Once done rinsing off, Susan stepped out of the shower and felt shy all over again. Travis handed her a towel which she wrapped around her body from axilla to hips, and secured it in place. Susan thought to herself: Thank The Creator for bath sheets!
