“FUCK! What am I supposed to do? I’m going to be his Beta for fuck’s sake and he’s one of my best friends. ” Luke’s voice is shaking and I know he wants to hide immediately. Alpha’s are known to be possessive of their mates and we witnessed last night what Colin's jealousy is like.“It’s not like he isn’t with someone right now, right? Why should he care.” Maybe I can convince myself as well. Probably not, but it is worth a shot.

I get to the lobby just in time for Heather and Amber to pull my arms towards the theater. They've already gotten popcorn, drinks and lots of candy. I have such a big sweet tooth. They really know how to turn my moods around. I am so glad they are my friends.The movie is already starting so we quickly find some seats in the middle. I plop down and realize that Luke is in the seat next to me. Well played girls. I just smile at him apologetically and he nods at me before lifting the armrest between us. I lay my head on his shoulder relieved that he isn't upset with me.

Without being able to stop him, he quickly makes his way over to me. Colin takes my head in his hands, while wiping away my tears with his thumbs. I stumble backwards a few steps until my back comes into contact with a tree.At my sudden stop his chest collides with mine and his face comes way too close for comfort to my own. His hands land on either side of my head on the tree behind me. I want desperately to run away but my body and Leia are determined to stand their ground.

By the time I reach my old house on the edge of the border I am full on sobbing and can’t catch my breath. I mind linked my mom on my way here the best I could in between sobs. She told me she would be waiting for me with a blanket.When I get to the pathway and shift she drapes the blanket over me and rubs my arms. She starts shushing me and kissing my head, calming me down enough to finally stop crying.

I am in my dad’s office reading and secretly listening while he is in a conference call with the Alpha. The Beta is also on the call but is still in West Virginia. He has been visiting with another pack, discussing the upcoming prom.Since we have the largest pack territory in Ohio, we use our prom every year to host the annual mating ball as well. This is a great chance for surrounding packs to get together and allow unmated wolves of age to possibly find their mate. The Alpha’s and Beta's use it as a meeting opportunity and an excuse to drink and have cigars.

It’s been a week since my little rendezvous in the woods and my um, bedroom. I have successfully managed to avoid both Colin and Luke this entire time, which was not easy. My mom and the Luna convinced Alpha Lawrence to tell the principal of our school I would be missing an entire week.He said I needed to help my dad with the Monday trainings for the girls. It wasn’t hard to accomplish because with mom and Amara being best friends and no one second guessing the Alpha, the principal gladly agreed. We just had all of my work sent to my parents house so I wouldn’t get behind.

“Why did you really miss school? Was it because of us, or me? I haven’t been able to sleep or do much of anything this entire week and it’s driving me insane, and what are you wearing? Devon wants to seriously rip every wolf apart on the field right now because they are all staring at you.”“I don’t have a boyfriend so let them look” I duck the jab he throws at my face. If it would have landed my nose would be bleeding for sure. I throw an uppercut catching him off guard and it causes him to stumble back slightly.

Logan told everyone at school that he is having a bonfire again this weekend and Amber convinced me to go. She’s bringing multiple jars of her dad’s Apple Pie Moonshine and I know it is going to be so much fun!I have gotten through the rest of the week without any issues. Luke and I like always are back on good terms like nothing happened and Colin and I have given each other space to think about things.

“How long have you been there?”“Long enough to hear you sing while you pee.”“You were watching me?!”“It’s not like I haven’t seen you naked.”

The moment I step back into the party Amber and Heather come running at me.“Where have you been girl, flip cup just started!” Amber grabs my wrists and then stares at me like she can see into my sole.
